recently i found out my psychiatrist diagnosed me with cyclothymia (a type of bipolar i think) at LEAST well over two years ago and just,,, forgot to fuckin tell me lmfao (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
like. this motherfucker just FORGOT to tell me and only mentioned it a month ago bc i was like “hey im planning to do a Bipolar screening w/ my therapist soon want me to tell you my results?”
and this bitch was like “oh you mean like the cyclothymia?”
“what??”
“yea, the cyclothymia we’ve been treating you for with Wellbutrin?”
“????!!” (」゜ロ゜)」
((for context i originally started Wellbutrin at 15 w/ a different doctor for my depression and was told it also was an adhd med- im now 23 and was NOT informed of this development after my current doctor started increasing my Wellbutrin dosage and also prescribed Adderall for my Severe ADHD))
so i now ive started mood stabilizers finally and it’s been interesting haha (≧▽≦)
all this time i thought i was just doing a shit job at managing my depression and adhd w/ my other meds only to find out i was workin with the WRONG information ┐(‘~`;)┌
like. DAMN, dude you couldn’t have told me earlier?? ಠ_ಠ? in his MEAGRE defense he mentioned cyclothymia as a possible diagnosis when we first talked about my Wellbutrin dosage increasing, but never outright stated “yea this is the diagnosis we’re gonna work on treating you for” or “i diagnosed you with cyclothymia”.
our virtual sessions on average are 5-15minutes outside of the initial sessions and usually several months apart, they’re a bit more common with my new meds but that’s not a lotta time for talk outside of “how’re your meds?” lmao- my brother once referred to him as my “legal drug dealer” since that’s his only form of psychiatric help, but i do have an actual therapist so i don’t mind it lol
i do have to laugh about the sheer absurdity of the situation and how i found out about my flavor of bipolar tho- my luck for life is notoriously chaotic and i honestly shouldn’t have expected to find out any other way (〃>ω<)ノ ┐(‘~`)┌
