@squisnaynay
I made an Adrian.
Chik-fil-le sandwich
INGREDIENTS:
4 hamburger buns, split
1 head green leaf lettuce, leaves separated
1 beefsteak tomato, sliced
20 dill pickle slices
FOR THE CHICKEN
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup dill pickle juice
1 ½ cups milk, divided
1 cup peanut oil
1 large egg
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon confectioners’ sugar
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Place a chicken breast on a cutting board. With your hand flat on top of it, carefully slice the chicken in half horizontally. Trim excess fat as needed.
In a large shallow baking dish, combine chicken, pickle juice and ½ cup milk; marinate for at least 30 minutes. Drain well.
Heat peanut oil in a large skillet over medium high heat.
In another large shallow baking dish, whisk together remaining 1 cup milk and egg. Stir in chicken to coat and drain excess milk mixture.
In a gallon size Ziploc bag or large bowl, combine chicken, flour and confectioners’ sugar; season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Working in batches, add chicken to the skillet and cook until evenly golden and crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
Serve chicken immediately on burger buns with green leaf lettuce, tomato and pickles.

The Book of Enoch - Simon as St. Michael Slaying the Dragon
This is a photobash under the hood, that then got painted and "rendered." Not well, but, yeah, "rendered." It is based on a late 13th century illustration by an unknown artist that depicts St. Michael defeating the Devil.
The Book of Enoch isn't considered canon, but it's got all the fun stuff people like about Christianity like angels and mystic visions. You know, the GOOD stuff!
I don't think Simon is a Christian of any stripe that would count as one today. But bits and pieces of old religions endure in new ones. For example, the halo was originally used in depictions of sun gods like Apollo. When Christianity developed, artists needed a shorthand way to show divinity quickly and effectively to a largely illiterate population that would have been very familiar with the idea of gods and goddesses running around interacting with mortals, and also with how those gods and goddesses were traditionally depicted in religious art. Ta-daa! Just like that, the halo becomes Christian iconography, and the world just keeps on turning.
Clearly there are almost vestigial remnants of Christianity on Eden in the world of Iron Lung. The name of the space station alone carries a lot of weight. But, no, my goal in making this little piece wasn't to try and push some idea that Simon would have worshipped a Christian god or that he would believe in angels.
I promise, I just think of Simon as a dragon slayer, so it was either Michael or George, and Michael won the coin toss. :D
Darling Simon gets a halo here, but it looks to be made of uranium and a porthole made with Filament Station glass. Whoops.
For more about the Book of Enoch and for a the illustration I used to create my little Saint Simon, have a look below the cut!

Do you think Michael Crichton had a deep-seated hatred of theme parks because he was too tall for all the rides?
Yes.
[tumblr] is a flat circle.
Damn, it sure is huh
We should do this more on this website.

I have been brought before the scriptures and my heresies found canonical.
I accept the judgement "unoriginal" and "should have looked it up first" but, in my inadequate defence, Tumblr's search function does fucking suck.
Defense found perfectly cromulent. Let Baddywronglegs free, and let no mark be against said blog.
"I have been brought before the scriptures and my heresies found canonical" is an all-time banger line.

Thinking about the fact that Gillion was scraping the bottom of the barrel for validation SINCE EPISODE ONE. He grabbed Chip in his arms and leapt from one roof to the next, trying to look as majestic as possible, and his first instinct was to look to John to see if he thought he looked cool.
Gillion has been begging for validation his entire life to the point where once he doesn’t know where to get it from anymore, he’s looking for it from EVERYBODY. INCLUDING AND ESPECIALLY PEOPLE NOT EVEN ON HIS CREW. Marshall John is practically the living manifestation of Gillion’s need for acceptance and appreciation from authority figures and/or the powerful.

Bruce Wayne AKA Batman
Propaganda
Niklaus Hendrix (Just Roll With It: Riptide):
Niklaus Hendrix was an honorary mention without propaganda.
Bruce Wayne AKA Batman (Batman: Bump In The Night):
What if Batman was the last line of defense between Gotham and the supernatural unknown? What if he did less punching and more paranormal detecting (but still a generous amount of punching)? What if he could exorcize, comfort, or rehome antagonists instead of just throwing them in Arkham?

The cultural, religious, and language differences between Simon and Grace are actually extremely important to me btw. The difference of resources between “they sent me to die within like, a day. I am not supposed to last, and even if i was, all of our resources are already dwindling.” vs “yeah i was sent to die, but it was for an indefinite amount of time AND it was for 2 extra people. So we might not have a ton of food, we have like, a change of clothes and medicine for you.” AND AND ANDDDD the religious difference of like, Simon’s universe being that the most important thing you can do is die so that your body can rot and let The Tree flourish. And Grace, lowkey not really caring about religion, and more focusing on what like, a god would mean alien wise
You send people to space to save the literal entire world and you still don't trust them to dispense their own drugs
rocky with his human thinking machine, learning about the median human on earth and getting disturbed by grace's horrific posture and joint instability .
Things can get a little silly, a little fun, a little wacky, as a treat
I like how in most phm fan creations they do try to stick with the scientific semi- realism that exists in phm.
But at the same I also love just how creative these fan creations have gotten lately and all the fun little scenarios being made whether it's art, headcanons, fanfiction, ocs, etc.. etc.., as that need for realism can be thrown out the window when it comes to the idea of Grace and Rocky visiting other stars, or planets, or even Earth and making different discoveries. And everyone just universally goes "Hell yeah that's awesome" because even PHM itself does this as just the idea of lightspeed travel by person is unrealistic and impossible past theoretics and then add a random space micro organism to the mix to be used for fuel to make it possible because it's a fun idea that works well
So some person can just go 'Oh yeah, Grace and Rocky found someway to visit Earth without it taking like 24 years (earth time) and travel back to Erid without problems and barely look like they aged a day because him and Rocky helped a group of aliens one time with their star problem so they made this possible' and people are just like "Yep, that tracks" without thinking into it any further. After all it could've been done in any way and that way can be explored
The mixture of science combined with the not impossible yet improbable space theories combined with the creativity of the mind to create whatever kind of scenerio to make it work is what makes this fandom feel so fun and expressive to me.
AND YES YES I KNOW THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF SCI-FI IT'S JUST
I LOVE SEEING PEOPLE GET CREATIVE OVER THINGS THEY REALLY LOVE, I LOVE SEEING DIFFERENT IDEAS AND POSSIBILITIES BE EXPLORED IT MAKES ME GO INSANE LIKE-
Be fun, be free, be scientifically creative, that's the whole point of sci-fi
Science and the ability to create can make extraordinary things when put together
