This stuffed French bread is a tasty take on the classic Philly cheesesteak. It's filled with thinly sliced beef, sauted onions, green peppers, and gooey provolone cheese, and it's baked to perfection.
Ingredients: 1 French bread loaf. 1 lb thinly sliced beef sirloin or ribeye. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced. 8 slices provolone cheese. 2 tablespoons olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 190C 375F. Long-wise cut the French bread loaf in half, and then take out some of the bread from the middle to make a hole. Put olive oil in a pan and heat it over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef and cook for three to four minutes, until it turns brown. Slice the onion and green bell pepper and add them to the pan with the beef. It will take about 5 minutes of cooking until the vegetables are soft. Add pepper and salt to taste. Put half of the provolone cheese slices on the French bread loaf's bottom half. Add the cooked beef, onion, and pepper mix on top. On top of the beef mixture, add the last few slices of provolone cheese. Cover the filling with the top half of the French bread loaf. Place the stuffed French bread loaf on a baking sheet and cover it with aluminum foil. For 15 to 20 minutes, or until the cheese melts and the bread is warm all the way through, bake in an oven that has already been heated up. Cut it up and serve it hot. Have fun!
