Argument head cannons with Bakugou Katsuki
fluff
ran out of ideas through this so paused for a week
How the argument starts:
Arguments with him almost always stem from an overwhelming suffocating need to protect you, alongside him expressing the fact he cares for you through anger, not words. You might of took a risk he told you not to, or because you didn't tell him you were going somewhere dangerous, or because you tried to help him when he was struggling and he felt like you saw him as weak.
He despises feeling like he cannot keep you safe and absolutely hates feeling vulnerable- so instead of communicating his fears he snaps at you, voice growing loud and sharp, words begin to spill out harsher than he means. He will say things like âDo you have any idea how stupid that was? You never listen to me, do you? I tell you over and over to be careful and you just do whatever you want, are you stupid!â Even though he's yelling at you, the panic in his eyes is visible even through the anger. Sometimes arguments start because heâs overworked, stressed from hero training, and he takes his frustration out on you without meaning to, only realising it when he sees your face crumple.
During the argument:
He gets impossibly loud, hands balled into fists. He will never say things to hurt you intentionally because the thought of hurting you intentionally makes him feel sick. He will begin to pace back and forth, shouting that you don't understand, you never take anything serious enough and that all he is trying his best to be strong for both of you. But the minute you go quiet, look away, or when your voice breaks whilst answering him , he will stop dead in his tracks. Anger evaporating instantly, replaced by pure panic and guilt. He will run his hands through his hair turn his back to you and mutter about this being the reason he hates fighting, before walking out to calm down. He leaves to prevent himself from saying or doing anything stupid that he will regret later. On his break he will be replaying every single thing, hating himself for his sharp tone, raised voice and every time he frightened you. He will cure under his death feeling devastated at the memory of your upset face and it feels like his chest is being squeezed.
What hurts him most:
What hurts Bakugou the most is when you stop arguing back and shut down going totally silents, like you've given up. It makes him feel like the biggest piece of shit ever to walk Earth because he knew he had pushed you too far. It kills him hearing you say âYou never talk to me about how you feelâ or âIt feels like you don't care about me and only care about being a heroâ because that's exactly the opposite of how he was feeling. He cares about you more than anything, even becoming number one, hearing that you feel otherwise breaks him completely.
Making up:
He takes a long while to come back because he's too proud to admit he messed up, and too scared to say the wrong thing. When he finally does come back, he doesn't look at you first he sets up your favourite snack, takeaway or drink on the table infant of you, his shoulders hunched, his face turned away and he mumbles so quietly that you almost miss it ââŠI didnât mean to yell. I just⊠I was just scared, okay? Scared somethingâll happen to you, scared I wonât be there to stop it. I donât know what to say without sounding like an idiot.â When he you look at his expression it's soft and his eyes are sharp, guilty. Heâll sit down next to you, close enough that your knees touch, and finally meet your eyes. âYouâre not stupid, and youâre not careless. I know that. I just⊠need you to listen to me sometimes. And I need to learn how to talk to you properly instead of immediately just shouting.â After talking for a while he will pull you into a tight hug squeezing and burying his face into your hair or shoulder admitting he loves you and telling you nothing could change that so never to think it. And later, when youâre calm, he will do small things for you like tidying around, making you tea, holding your hand tickling and rubbing your back.

yes ik Hange is nonbinary/ genderless but I've written them as a woman!
The first time you noticed it was when she had lingered too long- her fingers brushing against your wrist as she handed you a mug of tea, her breath was warm against your ear as she leaned in to point out a line in her notes to you. Hange had always been touchy, but this, this was different, there was intent in the way her gaze dragged over your body like she was mapping out your body, dissecting and cataloging you and every reaction you weren't even aware you were giving her.
"You ever wonder," she mused one night, her voice low as she twisted a lock of your hair through her fingers, "how much a person can take before they break?" The question shouldn't have sent a heat that pooled between your thighs but it did. Her thumb came up to graze your bottom lip, her glasses glinted under the dim light, that's when you realised-too late.
She pushed you back, onto a near by surface, her hands impatiently working their way through your buttons. "Iâve thought about this," she admitted, her voice low still, "how youâd sound, how youâd move." She tossed your shirt to the side her teeth scraping at your collarbone, and you arched yourself into her, the point of pretending like you didn't want this long gone.
When she finally slid her fingers into you, it was with the same focused curiosity she reserved just for her experiments- meticulous and relentless, adjusting her movements based on every gasp, every twitch and buck of your hips. "Fascinating," she murmured against your skin, and you realized, with a shudder, that she wasnât just going to fuck you, she was going to study you, she was actively doing so now. Her free hand tangled in your hair, tugging your head back just enough to expose your throat to her. She licked it slowly leaving a trail on the length of it. "Tell me," she ordered, her voice had an edge of authority to it now, "what happens when I do this?" Her fingers curled, pressing deep and you barely recognised the broken sound that escaped your lips.
She didn't allow you time to recover. One moment, you were sprawled beneath her, and the next, sheâd flipped you over onto your stomach your face pressed into the cold surface as she hiked your hips up. You felt her smirk against your spine before her teeth sank into the fat on your ass- possessive and sharp. "Perfect," she breathed, massaging the sting away with her palm. "Now letâs see how much more you can take." The surface beneath you made a creaking sound as creaked as she straddled your thighs, her weight pinning you down as she dragged her nails down your back, leaving behind faint red trails that burned. "Youâre so responsive," she mused, her fingers tracing the marks sheâd made. "I wonderâŠ" Her hand slid between your legs again, her touch featherlight, teasing. "Will you beg before I let you cum?" You bit your lip hard to prevent the sounds from escaping, but she tutted, grabbing your chin hard forcing your head back. "None of that," she chastised. "I want to hear you." Her fingers sunk lower, circling your clit with maddening precision, and you choked on a moan. "There it is," she cooed, her voice dripping with satisfaction. "Just like I predicted, good girl."
She let go of your chin her hand sliding down to your breast, pressing hard enough to make you gasp as she palmed your breast, her thumb rolling over your nipple. "Youâre so wet for me," she murmured, her breath hot against your ear. "Do you even know how much Iâve thought about this? How many nights Iâve spent imagining you just like this?" Her teeth nipped at your earlobe, and you shuddered.
She pulled away suddenly, leaving you aching and empty, and you whined before you could stop yourself. Hange laughed, low and wicked, as she reached for something beside you âa length of rope, coiled neatly. "Patience," she purred, running the rough fibers along your inner thigh. "Weâre just getting started." Her hands were quick and efficient as she looped the rope around your wrists making light work of binding you before you could even protest. She tied you tight enough to make your pule throb against it. She leaned in, her lips brushing yours in a mock of a kiss. "I want to see how you squirm," she whispered into your ear. "How much you can take before you unravel."
The first slap landed sharp against your thigh, the sting was hot against your skin, making you herk away, but she held you steady, her fingers digging into your skin as she delivered another then anotherâeach one measured and timed to get the prefect reaction. "Look at you," she murmured, her voice thick with something like awe. "Youâre so fucking perfect like this." Her fingers returned down to your clit, this time it was rough and relentless and made you writhe in your restraints. "Cum for me," she ordered, her voice leaving no room to disobey. "I want to watch you fall apart." And when you did, shuddering and gasping beneath her, she watched with rapt attention, her eyes dark with hunger. "Again," she breathed, already pushing you toward the edge once more.
The rope was biting into you wrists, bruises began to bloom purple beneath the skin as she manoeuvred you once again onto your back, before allowing her hand to fall and wrap around your throatânot enough to cut off your air. "Tell me," she murmured, her thumb stroking your jaw, "do you think about me when you touch yourself?" Her fingers worked faster, deeper, and you could only nod, your breath quickening. She then laughedâsoft, breathlessâbefore leaning down to drag her tongue along your sternum, teeth coming to graze your nipple. "Good," she purred. "Because Iâve memorized every sound you make." Her grip tightened fractionally on your throat as she added, "And I plan to collect every last one tonight."
The sudden, sharp pressure of her knee between your thighs had you arching, a broken cry tearing from your lips. Hange hummed, satisfied, as she dragged her nails down your ribs. "Thereâs that one," she mused. "Now, letâs see what else I can pull out of you." She leaned back just far enough to watch the way your body twitched when she twisted the rope tighter around your wrists, the rough fibers sinking deeper into your skin. "Youâre soâ" she paused, her fingers tracing the dampness between your legs with clinical precision, "âresponsive." she grinned. The first press of her tongue against you was slow, deliberateâlike she was tasting something new and rare. Then, without warning, she bit down on your inner thigh, the sharp pain quickly turning warm as she soothed it with her tongue. "Tell me," she murmured against your skin, her breath hot, "do you think youâll still be able to walk tomorrow?"
Her fingers returned to your clit, rubbing tight, relentless circles that had your hips jerking against her hand. "No," she answered for you, her voice thick with amusement. "But thatâs the point, isnât it?" Her other hand slid up to grip your jaw, forcing your gaze to hers. "I want you to feel me long after Iâm done with you." She didnât wait for a response before her mouth was on you again, sucking hard enough to make your vision blur. You whimpered, writhing against the ropes, but she pinned you down with her forearm across your hips. "Stay still," she ordered, her breath fanning over your wet skin. "Or Iâll make sure you canât move at all."
The threat sent another surge of heat deep inside of you, and she laughed, low and knowing, as she traced your entrance with two fingers. "You like that idea, donât you?" She didnât wait for an answer before pushing them inside, crooking them just enough to make you squirm. "I could keep you here for days," she mused, her voice dripping with dark promise. "Just like this. Mine." The ropes creaked as she tightened them further, her teeth grazing your hipbone. "Letâs see how many times I can make you cum before you forget your own name." Her fingers twisted, her thumb pressing hard against your clit, and you sobbed her nameânot pleading, not yet, but close. She grinned, wild and possessive. "Oh, sweetheart," she murmured. "Weâre just getting started."
Her mouth crept lower, teeth nipping on the sensitive skin of your inner thigh before she bit down hard, hard enough to leave a mark. "Beautiful," she remarked breathless. "I want to see how many of these I can fit on you before you lose count." Her fingers curled deeper inside you, her palm grinding against your clit in rough, uneven circles that had your thighs trembling. "You're trembling," she observed, her voice thick with amusement as she added a third finger in without warning. "Is it too much?" The question was a tauntâshe already knew the answer from the way you clenched around her, from the way your breath hitched when she twisted her wrist just so. "Or is it not enough?" Her free hand slid up to wrap around your throat again, her grip firm but not cruel. "Tell me."
She bit at your nipple once again just enough to not hurt as her fingers worked at you with relentless precision. "I want to hear you say it," she murmured against your skin, her breath hot. "Tell me how badly you need it." You whimpered, moving into her touch, but she pulled backâmaking you chase her. "Words, sweetheart," she taunted. "Or do I need to remind you how to use them?" A test tube slid off the counter nearby when she knocked it reaching to pull as your hair again, she didn't didnât pause to acknowledge it.
She moved her hand down, her thumb pressing into the your jaw as she tilted your face toward the dim glow of the light. "Fascinating," she remarked, her voice husky. "Your pupils dilate exactly 23% faster when I do this." She bought her mouth down to nip at your earlobe, and you realised, with a thrill, that she was taking notes. You gasped when her knee forced your thighs wider apart, the edge of the table pressing hard into you as she leaned over you, her breath hot against your ear. "Tell me," she whispered, her fingers tracing the frantic pulse in your wrist, "do you think your heart rate will spike higher when I fuck you here?" her palm slid between your legs, rough and demanding. The question was rhetorical; she already had a hypothesis, and you were just the proving her right.
"Oh, sweetheart," she murmured, her tongue darting out to taste your skin. "You didnât think this would be gentle, did you?" Her fingers twisted inside you, cruel and perfect, and you choked on her name. The notebook lay beside you, her hurried scrawl documenting every hitch of your breath, every involuntary twitch of your hipsâdata points in an experiment with no control group. When she finally bit down on your shoulder, hard enough to bruise, you realised that she wasnât just breaking you, she was rewriting you and everything you knew prior to this encounter. Her fingers withdrew abruptly, leaving you gasping at the sudden emptiness, but before you could protest, she dragged you backward by the hips, your spine arched away as she pressed her mouth between your thighs. The noise when she pulled from you was raw, unrefinedâsomething closer to a sob than a moan. "Ah, there," she murmured against your skin, her voice vibrating through you. "Thatâs the one Iâve been waiting for."
The edge of her glasses dug into your thigh as she adjusted her angle, her grip tightening when you tried to squirm deeper into her. "None of that," she chided, her breath hot against your skin. "Youâll take what I give you." Her tongue curled inside of you with practiced precision. She pulled back just far enough to meet your gaze, her chin glistening, her smile sharp. "Youâre beautiful like this," she mused, her thumb swiping lazily over your lower lip. "But I think youâd look even better begging." Her fingers returned to your clit, slow and deliberate.
The notebook slid off the counter with a clatter, pages fanning open to reveal sketchesâyour body, your reactions, rendered in precise, feverish detail. Hange barely glanced at it, too busy tracing the frantic flutter of your pulse with her tongue. "Tell me," she murmured against your throat, "do you think youâll still remember your own name when Iâm done?", and you didnât have an answerâonly the ragged sound of your own breathing. "I could ruin you," she whispered, her voice thick with something like reverence. "And youâd let me, wouldnât you?" she moved faster, experienced"Say it."

Jealousy- Todoroki x reader
Bakugou is jealous. Smut. oneshot. fem reader
Three months. That's how long it had been since you and Bakugou called it quits, and honestly, you'd never felt lighter. The breakup had been explosiveâfitting, really, given who he wasâbut standing in Todoroki's apartment now, wrapped in his arms, you realized just how much you'd been holding your breath before.
"You're thinking too much," Shoto murmured against your hair, his warm left hand splayed across your lower back while his cool right hand cupped your jaw. The contrast never failed to send shivers down your spine. You smiled up at him, your fingers tracing the line of his collarbone beneath his fitted black shirt. "Hard not to when you're looking at me like that."
"Like what?" Like I'm something precious. The words caught in your throat, replaced instead by a teasing smirk. "Like you're trying to memorize me." His mismatched eyes softened, the slightest upturn at the corner of his mouth making your heart stutter. Six weeks of dating, and he looked at you like you were a revelation. "Maybe I am."
Then his lips found yours, the kiss started gentle, exploratory, but you'd learned quickly that Shoto had a hidden intensity beneath that calm exterior. When your tongue traced the seam of his lips, his grip tightened, pulling you flush against him as a low sound rumbled in his chest. Your back met the wall beside his front door with a soft thud, and suddenly his mouth was trailing down your neck, teeth grazing the sensitive skin.
"Shotoâ" Your voice came out breathier than intended.
"Tell me to stop." His words ghosted across your throat, even as his hands slipped beneath the hem of your shirt, warm and cool fingers tracing along your ribs. "Tell me, and I will." You answered by tugging his shirt over his head, drinking in the sight of his lean, scarred torso. Your fingertips mapped the ridges of old injuries. He let you before his mouth claimed yours again, more demanding this time.
Clotheswere stripped away. Your shirt, his trousers, your braâall discarded somewhere between the entryway and the living room. When he laid you back on his couch, you pulled him down with you, relishing the solid weight of him pressing you into the cushions.
"You're beautiful," he whispered, and for once, you believed it. His scarred hand traced down your side, leaving goosebumps in its wake even as his warm hand worked at removing the last barriers between you. When he finally pushed himself inside of you, both of you gasped at the connection, feeling deeper than anything before. He moved slowly at first, watching your face with that intense focus that made you feel like the only person in the world.
"Faster," you breathed, nails raking down his back. "Please, Shoto, I needâ"He answered your plea with a snap of his hips, setting a rhythm that stole the air from your lungs. The sounds that filled the room were obscene - skin on skin, panting, pleading moans of each other's name.
You couldn't find it in yourself to care. Not when his cold hand found your breast whilst his heated hand gripped your hip to slam harder into you, hard enough to leave bruises. Not when his lips traced along your collarbone. Not when every thrust drove you closer to an edge you were desperate to fall over. And when your phone buzzed on the floor you didn't notice, neither of you did. And the second time it buzzed, followed by an insistent knock at the door, you were too far gone to register anything beyond the man above you, inside you, surrounding you completely.
But the third sound- the door slamming open banging into the wall because Shoto never locked it- the idiot! The sound penetrated through the haze of pleasure surrounding you. "What the fuck?!" That voice. That explosive and impossible-to-mistake voice.
Your eyes snap open meeting Shoto's just as horrified gaze for half a heartbeat before you both turned towards the doorway where Bakugou Katsuki stood, crimson eyes wide and jaw slack, taking in the scene before him.
You were naked and flushed beneath your new lover. Shoto above you, still very much inside you. The evidence of your pleasure written across every inch of exposed skin. For one agonising moment, nobody moved.
Then Bakugou's expression twisted into something unrecognisableârage, hurt, betrayal, and something much darker all warring across his features. His hands crackled with tiny explosions, the acrid smell of nitroglycerin suddenly cutting through the scent of sex in the apartment. "You've got to be fucking kidding me." His voice was low, controlled in a way that was infinitely more terrifying than his usual shouting. "Him? You replaced me with him?"
Shoto pulled out of you with more care than you could process in the moment, positioning himself between you and Bakugou even as he grabbed a throw blanket to cover your trembling form. "Bakugou. This isn't what itâ"
"Shut the hell up, Half-and-Half." Bakugou's fists clenched at his sides, sparks dancing dangerously. "I come here to talk, and I find you fucking myâ"
"She's not yours anymore." Shoto's voice cut through the tension like ice. "You made sure of that when you walked away." The silence that followed was deafening. And then Bakugou's gaze found yours over Shoto's shoulder, and you saw itâthe shattered look he was trying so desperately to hide behind his fury.
Todoroki's Broken Engagement
Bakugou, Todoroki and Y/N
Description/ summary:
Todoroki is manipulated by his father with lies and an arranged marriage, leading him to break up with you, choosing to believe his fatherâs words over yours. You don't forgive him and he spends months in regret, only to watch you find true love with Bakugou.
You and Shoto had been together for almost a year. Your relationship was quiet, gentle, and built on a foundation of understanding. You knew his struggles with his family and his fear of being like his father. You saw the way he would flinch when someone raised their voice. You loved him truly- not his name , money, power or status- but him for the kind perfect brave person he was. To you, he was your everything but to him you were supposed to be a safe haven .
Enjoy Todoroki has never seen it this way. he disapproved of you and you weren't worthy for an heir of the Todoroki name.
In his eyes, you were worthless. Your quirk isn't anything to be amazed with, no prestigious lineage, nothing that could benefit the Todoroki name or push Shoto closer to becoming the Number One Hero. Endeavor watched your relationship grow with cold disapproval, and he decided early on that he would remove you from his sonâs life. He wouldnât do it by force; he knew Shoto would rebel. Instead, he decided to destroy your image in Shotoâs eyes, using the one weapon he had always mastered: manipulation.
One evening, he called Shoto into his study and his voice was low, grave, but perfectly measured. âShoto, I have held my tongue for months because I wanted you to be happy. But I cannot stay silent any longer. I have a responsibility to protect you, even from yourself.â
Shoto frowned, uneasy. âWhat are you talking about?â
âYour partner.â Endeavor slid a thick folder across the mahogany desk. âI had people look into them... I wasn't prying I was just ensuring you weren't being taken advantage of. But I found some things... terrible things"
Shoto stiffened. âItâs lies. They love me.â
"Is love being mocked behind your back?" Endeavour opened a folder sliding it over to him, altered photos, and false reports. "They say that you're broken. your scary makes you appear weak. They laugh at you calling you naive and how it was easy to get with the son of the number one hero's son. They are with you for just status and connections." Shoto's hands began to tremble. Every word struck at his deepest insecurities- fears and insecurities he had.
âAnd there is more,â Endeavor continued, his tone shifting to something more firm and final. "I have arranged a marriage proposal for you. She's a daughter of the Kamihara family. The family is powerful and wealthy and respected... she is your equal. She will strengthen this family and help you to rise to the top. Unlike them, she has respect for you and respects what it means to be a hero. The engagement is agreed upon. You will end things with Y/n immediately. They are dragging you down, and I wonât allow it.â
Over the next week, the lies were being slowly dripped into his ears. Endeavour told him you had asked people how much money he had and said you complained that dating him was exhausting because of his family issues. He claimed you had been seen meeting with other men. Each lie was small, but combined with the âevidenceâ and the voice of the father Shoto still struggled to stand against, they began to chip away at the trust you had spent months building. Shoto began to grow cold, distant, and quiet. He stopped holding your hand. He stopped looking you in the eye. When you asked what was wrong, he turned away. The end came at the park- the place where you had shared your first date, kiss and where you had first said you loved one another.
âShoto, please,â you begged, tears streaming down your face as you stood before him. âTalk to me. What happened? What did I do?â. He stiffened, hands stuffed in his pockets, his face a mask of cold indifference that broke your heart. âDonât act like you donât know. I know everything. I know what you say about me. I know youâre just using me. My father showed me proof.â You felt as though the ground had crumbled beneath your feet. âProof? Shoto, none of that is true! You know meâyou know me! How can you believe that?â
âBecause the evidence is right here!â He raised his voice, holding up the folder of lies. âAnd it doesnât matter anyway. I am engaged now. To someone worthy of this family. Someone who doesnât lie and deceive.â The word engaged hit you like a physical blow. You stepped back, wiping your tears, your heart turning from pain to cold, sharp anger. âYou listened to him,â you said, your voice trembling but firm. âYou listened to the man who hurt you, who abused you, who has controlled every part of your life⊠and you chose his words over mine. You believed the worst of me without even asking me for my side of the story. You let him decide my character, our relationship, our future.â You looked him dead in the eye, and he saw clearly that the love in your gaze was gone, replaced by hate.
âNot only have you broken up with me but you made a choice to believe an abuser over me- you took his word over mine. You hurt me and I will not forgive you this time. Now⊠you have to live with that. Goodbye.â You turned and walked away, leaving him standing alone in that park with a cold dread settling in his chest that he couldnât yet name.
It took exactly two weeks for Shoto to realize the truth. He started noticing inconsistencies. The dates on the reports didnât match the days you were together. The people his father claimed you spoke to denied ever saying such things. He found the original, unaltered photos hidden in a locked drawer in Endeavorâs studyâpictures showing you alone, or with friends, never with anyone else.
When he confronted his father, furious and shaking, Endeavor didnât even flinch. âI did what was necessary. They were not good enough. They were a distraction. You will thank me one day.â
âYou lied!â Shoto shouted, a rage unlike anything he had ever felt burning through him. âYou made me hurt them! You made me lose them!â He broke off the engagement immediately and sprinted to your dorm, but you wouldnât open the door. He called you, but your number was blocked. He sent texts, emails, lettersâpages and pages of apologies, explanations, pleas.
'I was wrong. He lied to me. I was scared and stupid and I believed him. Please, let me explain. I love you. I never stopped loving you.' But you never replied. Not once.
For the next five months, Shoto Todoroki lived in a state of endless regret and longing. He watched you from a distance in the hallways of UA, at training grounds, in the cafeteria. He saw how you kept your distance, How you had become guarded, you refused to even glance in his direction. He tried everything to reach you. He created alt accounts on socials to send messages, he commented on every photo you posted, he sent gifts that were always returned unopened.
Every post he made became a cry for you: photos of places you used to go, quotes about regret, vague reposts about how much he had changed and how much he missed you. He hoped you were reading them. He hoped you knew that he was sorry. He hoped you would see that he had finally stood up to his father, that he was fighting for himself nowâall because he wanted to be the person you deserved.
But silence was the only answer he received. He changed. He became quieter, more serious, but stronger. He stopped letting his father control him. But every victory felt like nothing, every achievement felt empty, because the one person he wanted to share it with was gone- it was all his fault. He waited. He believed that eventually, time would heal the wound, and you would come back. He told himself you were just hurt, that you still loved him, that you were just waiting for him to prove himself.
He was wrong.
You had spent the first two months heartbroken and angry, building walls around yourself. But someone had been watching you closely all along. Bakugou had never been one for soft words or gentle comfort, but he had seen everything. He had seen how Shoto had thrown away the best thing that ever happened to him because he was too weak to trust you. He had seen how Shoto had let his father choose and control his life again.
Bakugou started sitting with you at lunch, not talking, just making sure nobody was bothering you. He would walk with you to and from your dorm and classes. He trained with you, pushing you hard but always ensuring his safety, always muttering under his breath that âthat half-and-half bastard didnât deserve even a second of your time.â
He didnât ask about the past. He didnât bring up Shoto. He didnât try to fix you. He was just there, loyal to you. He showed you what trust actually looked like: he never doubted you, never listened to rumours, never let anyone speak badly about you. He would just choose you, no hesitation or fear, not needing anyone else's permission. Slowly, the walls you had built began to fall. The pain faded, replaced by warmth and safety. You realized what real love wasâit was someone who didnât make you beg for their trust.
You started dating quietly, but Bakugou never hid it. He held your hand in the hallways. He draped his arm around your waist in public, pulling you close. He looked at you like you were the most precious thing in the world, and he made sure everyone knew you were his.
It was a Saturday afternoon when Shoto saw it. He was scrolling through his phone, checking your profile for the hundredth time that day, hoping for any sign that you might be thinking of him. And then, your newest post loaded...
It was a photo of you and Bakugou, taken at the training grounds. You were laughing, head tilted back, and Bakugou was looking down at you with that rare, soft expression he only ever showed you, his arm securely wrapped around your shoulders, holding you close against his chest.
The caption was short but and devastating: thank you for always choosing me first @dynamight
Shotoâs breath caught in his throat. His fingers trembled as he stared at the screen. He scrolled back through his own profileâfilled with months of apologies, sad songs, lonely reposts, and desperate messages you had never acknowledged. He saw the way that Bakugou looked at you in the photo. He remembered the last time he had looked at youâwith doubt, with coldness, with the words his father had fed him.
He realized then that he had lost you not because of his fatherâs lies, but because of his own choice. He had chosen to believe him. He had chosen to value his fatherâs words over your own. He had chosen to be the son Endeavor wanted, instead of the partner you needed.
He kept scrolling, seeing more photos: you and Bakugou eating together, training together, smiling together. He saw the comments from friends, cheering you on, saying how good you looked, how happy you were. Shoto closed his eyes, the ache in his chest sharper than any burn or frostbite he had ever endured. He knew, that there was no coming back from this. He had spent months pining, and hoping you would return⊠but you had already moved on. You had found the love you deserve.
He put his phone down, the screen going dark. He was alone again, just like he had been before he met you. But this time, he knew it was his own fault. He had been given the purest love, and he had traded it for his fatherâs approval.
Levi x reader
The Survey Corps barracks were quiet- the type that was heavy and thick that had settled in long after the fires of battle had died down. You sat on the edge of your narrow bed, fingers brushing at the frayed edge of the green cloak. The fabric was worn and stained with mud one faint traces of old blood, but you kept it as though it was something precious. It smelled of rain, old leather, and himâthat sharp, clean scent of soap and steam that had always felt like safety.
You heard the familiar, quiet stride of boots in the hallway before the door creaked open. Levi stood there, framed by the dim light of the corridor. He didnât look at you right away. His gaze was fixed on the floor, his posture rigid, shoulders pulled tight like he was carrying a weight no one else could see.
There were dark circles under his eyes, deeper than usual, and a faint, fresh cut along his jawline that he hadnât bothered to bandage. He closed the door softly behind him, and the click of the latch felt like it sealed you both inside a cage. âYouâre back,â you said. Your voice came out quieter than you intended, thin and fragile.
He nodded once, finally lifting his eyes to meet yours. His grey eyes, usually sharp and unreadable, looked tiredâraw, almost. There was a distance in them now, a wall he had built up brick by brick, every time heâd lost someone he cared about. âI am.â You stood up, the cloak slipping from your hands onto the mattress. You wanted to go to him, to reach out and touch his face, to hold him until the tension left his body.
But you hesitated. You had learned, over time, that grief made him withdraw, made him build barriers so high even you struggled to get past them. âDid it go⊠badly?â you asked, though you already knew the answer. You had seen the smoke on the horizon hours ago, had counted the returning horses and known immediately that not everyone had come home.
Leviâs jaw tightened. He looked away, staring at the small, cracked window where the night sky was visible- dark, endless and cruel. âSame as always. We lost good people. People who didnât deserve to die.â His voice was low, flat, stripped of any emotion, but you knew him well enough to hear the pain underneathâburied deep, held together only by sheer willpower. He walked further into the room, stopping a few feet away from you, close enough to touch but feeling miles apart.
âI did everything right. The formations, the commands⊠I made the calls. And stillâŠâ He trailed off, his hand clenching into a fist at his side, knuckles turning white. âStill, they died.â
âIt wasnât your fault,â you said softly, stepping closer. âYou know that, Levi. You canât save everyone.â He let out a short, bitter breath, almost a laugh but completely empty. He turned his head back to you, and for a second, you saw itâthe fear, the grief, the crushing weight of being Humanityâs Strongest, expected to be invincible, expected to never fail. âThatâs easy to say. But every time⊠every single time I come back, I leave more of them behind. And I keep thinkingâwhen will it be you?â The words hung in the air, heavy and sharp. Your heart ached. You reached out slowly, your fingers brushing against his clenched fist. He didnât pull away, but he didnât relax either.
âIâm here,â you told him, voice steady despite the lump in your throat. âIâm right here.â
He looked down at your hand, then up at your face, his expression crumbling just a littleâonly for you, only in the quiet dark where no one else could see. He reached up, his calloused fingers tracing the line of your cheek, touch gentle as if he was afraid you might break or vanish if he pressed too hard. âThatâs what scares me,â he whispered. His voice was rough, broken at the edges. âThat one day, Iâll come back⊠and you wonât be. And Iâll have nothing left. Nothing but ghosts and memories I canât stand to look back on.â
He pulled you close then, arms wrapping tight around your waist, pulling you against his chest so you could feel his heart beatingâfast, hard, alive, but heavy with sorrow. He rested his chin on top of your head, holding you like you were the only thing keeping him anchored to the ground. You could feel the faint tremor running through his body, the way he breathed in your scent like he was memorizing it, terrified it might fade. âIâm tired,â he admitted, so quiet you almost missed it. âIâm tired of fighting. Tired of losing everyone I care about. I just want⊠I just want it to stop. I want to keep you safe.â
You wrapped your arms around his neck, pressing your face into the crook of his shoulder, feeling the dampness on your skinâtears he would never let fall in front of anyone else. âYou donât have to carry it all alone,â you murmured against him. âYou have me. Whatever happens, you have me.â He held you tighter, his grip almost painful, as if he was scared that if he let go even an inch, you would slip away. For a long time, neither of you spoke. Outside, the wind howled, carrying the distant sounds of the world you fought to survive inâharsh, unforgiving, and full of loss.
But in that small room, with you in his arms, Levi allowed himself a moment of weakness. A moment to feel the weight of everything he had lost, and everything he still feared losing. When he finally pulled back, his face was calm again, the walls rebuilt, the pain hidden deep behind his usual stoic mask. But his hand stayed resting against your cheek, his thumb brushing softly over your skin. âStay close to me,â he said. It wasnât an order, not really. It was a plea, quiet and desperate. âAlways stay close. Donât go where I canât reach you.â
You nodded, your throat too tight to speak, and leaned into his touch. He leaned down, pressing his forehead against yours, eyes closed, breathing you in. âBecause if I lost you⊠I donât think Iâd have anything left worth fighting for.â The silence came back then, soft and sad, wrapping around you both. You knew the war would continue, that danger was always waiting, that every day could be the last. And you knew Levi would keep fightingâsharp, strong, relentlessâcarrying every loss like a scar on his heart. But you also knew that as long as you were there, he would hold on. And even if the world fell apart around you, you would stay right by his side, through every battle, every loss, and every quiet, aching moment in between.

The sky above the city was deep indigo, streaked with faint purple and dotted with the first few stars, when Todoroki walked you to the small, quiet spot heâd chosen for the evening. It was a little garden terrace up on a hill, away from the bright noise and crowds of the main streets, with soft lighting strung between the trees and the distant hum of the city below.
Heâd been quiet all the way here â not awkward, never distant, just thoughtful, his hand warm and steady around yours. Heâd dressed simply but carefully: a soft, pale-coloured shirt and dark trousers, his hair brushed neatly, the familiar split of white and red catching the light as he turned to look at you.
âDid you find it okay?â he asked, his voice low and calm, with that familiar soft edge he only ever seemed to have when he was alone with you. âI remembered you said you liked places that arenât too loud. I thought⊠this might be nice.â
âItâs perfect, Shoto,â you told him, smiling, and you saw the small, quiet lift of his shoulders â the way he relaxed when he knew heâd done something right, something that made you happy.
He led you over to a wooden bench tucked under a flowering tree, where you could see the whole stretch of the city lights spreading out below like a sea of tiny glowing jewels. There was a small basket set to one side, and he knelt beside it, opening it carefully to take out what heâd brought.
âI asked the cafeteria staff to help me make these,â he said, a faint flush rising high on his cheeks as he laid out small sandwiches, sweet pastries, and two bottles of cold drink. âI wanted to do it all myself, but⊠I still need a little practice. They said it was better to let them check, just in case I accidentally added too much of something.â
You laughed softly, sitting down and leaning close to him. âIt doesnât matter if you made them or not â the fact that you planned all this, that you remembered what I like⊠thatâs the best part.â He sat beside you then, his thigh pressing gently against yours, his hand resting again over yours where it lay on the bench between you. He looked out over the view for a moment, his expression calm, before he turned his face fully toward you, his eyes clear and focused, holding yours steadily.
âIâve been looking forward to this all week,â he admitted quietly. âDuring training, in class⊠even when I was studying. I kept thinking about tonight. About being here with you.â And with that you felt your heart feel warm, soft and dull in your chest. you slid your fingers between his to lace your hands together.
âMe too. Every time I saw you, I wanted to ask if you were excited, but⊠I liked waiting for it, too. Like it was something special just for us.â
Shoto nodded slowly, his thumb brushing lightly over the back of your hand, slow and gentle. For a long time, silence stretched between you â not empty, but full, the kind of silence that only comes when you feel completely safe and at ease with someone. The twinkling lights cast a soft gold over his face, catching the sharp line of his jaw, the gentle curve of his mouth, and you realised again, as you did almost every day, just how much you loved him â not just the parts everyone saw, the powerful hero-in-training, the boy with the famous name, but him: quiet, thoughtful, learning every day how to be soft, how to love, how to let himself be loved in return.
âI never really understood dates before,â he said suddenly, his voice quieter now, almost a murmur. âI thought they were just⊠things people did. Rules to follow. Or things my father expected people to do. But this⊠being here, with you⊠itâs not like that at all.â He paused, searching for the right words, his gaze steady and sincere. âIt feels like the most important thing I do. Every time Iâm with you, I feel like Iâm learning what it means to be happy. What it means to be me, not just what everyone else wants me to be.â
He lifted your hand then, bringing it gently to his lips, pressing a soft, warm kiss to your knuckles, his eyes never leaving yours. âYou make everything clearer,â he told you. âYou make everything warmer. Even the things that used to feel cold and heavy⊠when Iâm with you, they feel lighter. Like I can carry anything, as long as youâre there.â
You leaned closer, resting your head against his shoulder, and he immediately shifted to wrap his arm around you, pulling you gently against his side, his warmth wrapping around you like a blanket â balanced, perfect, half soft heat and half cool calm, exactly like him.
âI love you, Shoto,â you whispered into the quiet air. âAnd Iâm so proud of you. Of everything youâve become, and everything youâre still becoming. You donât have to try so hard, you know? Youâre already everything I could ever want.â He rested his chin on top of your head, his hold tightening just a little, and you felt the steady, strong beat of his heart against your side.
âI love you too,â he said, and his voice was thick with feeling, sure and true. âMore than I know how to say. But Iâll keep trying. Every day. Every date. Every moment I get to spend with you. Iâll keep showing you, and telling you, for as long as you let me.â For the rest of the night, you stayed there, eating and talking, sometimes laughing softly at old memories or quiet jokes, sometimes just sitting still and watching the city below. He told you little things about his week â small victories, things heâd learned, things he wanted to get better at â and you told him yours, and he listened to every word like it was the most important thing heâd ever hear.
When the night grew cooler, he used his fire side just enough to wrap a gentle, comfortable warmth around you both, never too hot, never overwhelming, just enough so you were perfectly cosy. And when it was time to go, he walked you back slowly, his hand never leaving yours, stopping only once at the gate to lean down and kiss you â soft, slow, sweet, and full of all the quiet, deep love that was entirely his.
âNext week,â he promised softly against your lips, âIâm going to plan something else. Something just as special. Just for you.â And as you watched him walk away, turning back every few steps to smile and wave.

The library was quiet, filled with the soft rustle of pages and the faint hum of the heating. Sunlight filtered in through the tall windows, casting warm, golden stripes across the wooden tables and dust floated gently in the air. You sat tucked away in your usual corner, textbooks and notes spread out in front of you, pen hovering over a blank page as you tried to focus.
You didnât even have to look up to know when he arrived. There was a certain calm, steady presence that always preceded him â a quiet kind of energy that made the air feel softer, more balanced.
âHey,â Shoto Todoroki said softly, pulling out the chair opposite you and sitting down carefully so as not to disturb the silence. He set down his own stack of books, neat and organised, his movements precise and calm as always.
You looked up, smiling. âHey. Thought youâd be training late today.â He shook his head, pushing his hair back slightly â the familiar split of white and red falling neatly into place again. âFinished early. Figured studying would be more useful⊠especially since I knew youâd be here.â
There was no smirk, no teasing tone â just honest, straightforward sincerity, the way he always spoke. It still made your heart do that little flutter, even after all this time.
He opened his notebook, his dual-coloured eyes scanning over his notes quickly, absorbing information with that sharp, focused intelligence that made him so formidable both in battle and in class. For a long time, the only sounds between you were the scratch of pens on paper and the turning of pages. It was comfortable, easy â the kind of silence you could only share with someone you felt completely at ease with.
Every now and then, youâd glance up, watching him work. He was so focused, his expression calm and concentrated, a small furrow appearing between his brows only when he encountered something difficult. Sometimes his pen would pause, hovering over the paper while he thought, and you noticed his left hand resting lightly on the table, warm enough that you could feel the gentle heat radiating from it even across the small space between you. His right hand, meanwhile, rested near his notes, cool to the touch, balancing the temperature perfectly around your little corner. It was something he did without thinking â keeping the air just right for you, never too hot, never too cold.
About an hour later, you sighed, dropping your pen and rubbing your tired eyes. âIâm stuck again. This section makes no sense.â Shoto immediately looked up, closing his notebook halfway and leaning forward slightly, attentive as always. âWhich part?â
You slid your textbook across the table to him, pointing to a dense paragraph on hero law. âAll of it. I canât get my head around the differences in jurisdiction between agencies. It all just blends together.â He looked at the page, his eyes moving slowly over the text. Then he turned the book slightly toward you, and began to explain â slow, clear, breaking it down into simple parts, using examples from cases you both knew. His voice was low and steady, never rushed, and he had a way of making complicated things sound easy, like heâd already mapped out every connection in his mind before speaking.
âYou see?â he said, finishing his explanation and looking at you carefully, checking if you understood. âItâs mostly about who is closest and best equipped to respond. Itâs not about power, or rank.â
You nodded, feeling the confusion clear away. âYeah⊠yeah, I get it now. You always make it sound so simple.â A faint, soft pink touched his cheeks, and he looked down at his notes for a second before meeting your gaze again. âIâm glad. I like explaining things to you. You ask questions that make me think too.â
He sat back in his chair, and you noticed him glance at your hands, which were wrapped around your arms, rubbing at them gently. The afternoon sun had shifted, and the spot where you were sitting was now in shadow, the air turning a little cooler. Before you could say anything, Shoto shifted his chair around the table so he was sitting closer to your side. He rested his left hand flat on the table near your books, and instantly, a soft, gentle warmth spread out, wrapping around you like a light blanket. It was perfect â enough to take the chill away, but never too hot or uncomfortable.
âBetter?â he asked quietly. âMuch better,â you smiled, leaning a little toward him without thinking. âThank you.â He nodded, his eyes softening, and reached over to gently adjust the angle of your book so the light hit it better.
His fingers brushed against yours for just a second, warm and calloused from training, and he paused, looking down at where your hands touched. For a moment, you thought he might pull away, but instead, he simply rested his hand next to yours on the table, close enough that your knuckles occasionally brushed as you worked.
Time seemed to slow down. You worked through more chapters, asking each other questions, testing each other on facts, sometimes just sitting quietly side by side. Shoto was patient â incredibly patient. He never rushed you, never made you feel silly for not knowing something. When you got frustrated, heâd simply say, âTake a breath. Weâll go through it again. Slowly.â And somehow, hearing that calm, steady voice always helped.
Once, you looked over and caught him staring at you, his pen forgotten in his hand, a thoughtful, quiet expression on his face. âWhat?â you asked, a little self-conscious. He blinked, as if coming back to himself, and a soft colour rose in his cheeks again.
âNothing. Just⊠you concentrate really hard when youâre trying to figure something out. You get this little line between your brows.â He reached out, and before you could react, his finger gently brushed over the spot between your eyebrows, smoothing it away. His touch was cool and warm all at once, light as a feather. Your breath caught. âOh⊠sorry.â
âDonât be,â he said softly, his hand resting near your cheek for just a second longer before he pulled back, returning to his notes, though the small, fond smile stayed on his lips. âItâs cute.â
As the afternoon turned into evening, the library began to empty, the light fading to soft grey outside. You packed your things slowly, tired but satisfied â youâd covered more ground in those few hours than you usually did in a whole day alone.
Shoto stood up when you did, carrying both his bag and yours without asking. He walked with you out into the hallway, the quiet of the library following you out. âSame time tomorrow?â he asked, looking down at you, his hands tucked into his pockets but his body turned fully toward you, open and attentive.
âDefinitely,â you said, smiling up at him. âYouâre my best study partner, you know.â He stepped a little closer, and in the empty corridor, he reached out, his fingers gently curling around your hand â warm this time, solid and familiar.
âI like being your study partner,â he said quietly, his eyes holding yours, deep and sincere. âI like doing anything with you. Even studying. Especially studying⊠because it means I get to be close to you for hours, without having to say anything at all. Just⊠being there. With you.â
He lifted your hand, pressing a soft, warm kiss to your knuckles, just like he always did, simple and sweet and full of everything he felt. âYou make even textbooks feel like something special,â he added softly.
As you walked back to the dorms side by side, hands still loosely held between you, you knew that he was right. It didnât matter what you were doing â training, fighting, studying, or just sitting in silence. As long as you were with Shoto, every moment felt like the best one of your day.

sfw// bittersweet// angst with a happy ending
p.s feel totally free towrope me a request on anything thank you for your support <3
The rain outside fell hard against the windows of the common room, blurring the city lights outside into soft, smudged glows. You sat curled up on the sofa, knees pulled to your chest, watching the droplets race down the glass. It was lateâfar later than you usually stayed awakeâbut sleep had been impossible ever since youâd seen him earlier.
Midoriya stood near the doorway- his back to you, shoulders hunched under the weight of his cape. Heâd only just returned from a mission, and even from here, you could see the way his body trembled, the way he held his left arm close to his side like even breathing hurt him. His costume was torn in several places, dark with rain and dried blood, and there were fresh bandages peeking out from the collar of his suit.
Youâd lost count of how many times youâd patched him up, how many nights youâd stayed up waiting for him to come home, terrified that one day he wouldnât. Every time he walked out that door, you felt like you were losing a little more of himâlike the world was slowly wearing him down, piece by piece, until thereâd be nothing left for you to love.
âYou should be asleep,â he said softly, not turning around. His voice was rough, worn thin from exhaustion and overuse. âI couldnât,â you answered, voice quiet. You stood up slowly, your legs feeling heavy, and walked over to him.
âI never can, when youâre out there.â When he finally turned to face you, your heart ached so bad it hurt to breathe. His face was streaked with rain and grime, dark circles hung heavy under his bright green eyes, and there was a deep, fresh cut along his jawline. But what hurt most was the look in his eyesâguilt, and sadness, and a quiet kind of resignation that had settled there over the last few months. You reached up, brushing a strand of messy green hair away from his forehead, your fingers trembling. âYouâre hurt again.â
âItâs nothing,â he said automatically, the same lie he told every time. He leaned slightly into your touch, though, his eyes fluttering shut for just a secondâlike you were the only thing keeping him standing. âIâm okay. Really.â
âYouâre not, Izuku.â Your voice cracked. You rested your hand against his chest, right over his heart, feeling the fast, heavy beat beneath your palm. âYouâre never okay recently. You push yourself until you break, and you never tell anyone how much it hurts. You just⊠carry it all alone, you won't even share it with me.â
He opened his eyes, and they were shiny and brimmed with tears. He took your hand in his, holding it tight against his chest, his fingers cold and rough from fighting. âI have to. You know I do. Thereâs so much I have to doâso many people I have to save. If I stop⊠if I slow down⊠what happens then? What happens to everyone who needs me?â
âWhat happens to you?â you whispered, tears spilling, rolling down your cheeks. âThatâs what Iâm afraid of. That one day youâll push too hard, and you wonât come back to me. That I'll lose you before I ever get to tell youââ You stop yourself, biting your lip hard. Youâd promised yourself you wouldnât say it. Not now, not when he had so much on his shoulders. Not when loving you would only be one more thing he had to worry about.
But Izuku knew you too well. He always had. His expression crumpled, and he pulled you close, wrapping his arms around you carefully, like he was scared heâd hurt you if he held on too tight. You buried your face in his chest, crying quietly, listening to the steady, strong rhythm of his heartâthe same heart that gave everything it had, every single day.
âI know,â he murmured, his voice thick with pain. He rested his chin on top of your head, his hand rubbing slow, soothing circles on your back, even though he was the one who was hurt. âI know. And itâs not fair to you. You deserve someone who can stay safe. Someone who doesnât come home broken every other night. Someone who can give you all the time and attention and love you deserve.â
He pulled back just enough to look at you, his thumbs wiping away your tears, though his own were falling freely now too. âI want to be that person for you. More than anything. But⊠I donât know if I can. Not yet. Maybe not ever. My life⊠itâs dangerous. And I canâtâI wonâtâlet you get hurt because of me. I canât bear the thought of you getting caught up in this, or losing you, or⊠or leaving you behind one day because I wasnât strong enough.â
âItâs not your choice to make,â you said, grabbing his wrists, holding onto him like he was slipping away. âI chose this. I chose you. Every part of youâthe good, the hurt, the parts that are always trying to save the world. I donât want anyone else, Izuku. I just want you.â
He closed his eyes, a quiet, broken sound escaping his throat, and pulled you back into his embrace, holding you tighter this time, like he was scared to let go. The rain kept falling outside, and the room was quiet except for the sound of your crying and his shaky breaths. âI love you,â he whispered, so soft you almost didnât hear it. âGod, I love you so much it hurts. Thatâs why this is so hard. Because every time I leave, I wonder if thatâs the last time Iâll get to say it. If thatâs the last time Iâll get to hold you like this.â
He pulled back again, his hands cupping your face, looking at you like he was memorizing every last detail, terrified heâd forget. âBut I need you to be safe. Even if it means⊠even if it means I have to stay away from you. Even if it hurts us both.â
Your heart felt like it was splitting open. âIs that what you want? To stay away?â
âNo.â His answer was immediate, fierce, raw. âItâs what I have to do. To keep you safe. Even if it kills me.â
You leaned into his touch, your eyes closing as you let yourself feel this one last timeâhis warmth, his scent, the way his hands felt against your skin. You knew he meant it. You knew heâd carry this pain quietly, alone, just like he carried everything else. And you knew youâd wait. No matter how long it took. No matter how much it hurt.
âIâll be here,â you promised, your voice barely a whisper. âWhenever youâre ready. Whenever you can let me in. Iâll be right here.â
Izuku kissed your forehead, slow and gentle, his tears falling onto your skin. For a little while longer, he held you in the dark, while the rain fell around you.
The first few days after that night were the hardest. You half-expected him to come backâmaybe late at night, maybe with that familiar, tired slouch, maybe with a hundred apologies. But days turned into a week, and the door to his room stayed shut, and every time you passed him in the common room or the corridors, Izuku didnât meet your eyes.
He was there, physicallyâalways first out the door for training, always the last to finish, always pushing his body past its limits until he was swaying on his feetâbut the warmth that used to follow him everywhere was gone. It was like heâd built a wall around himself, thick and high, and heâd locked you out on purpose.
You found him one evening sitting on the roof, knees drawn up to his chest, staring out over the city lights. The wind tugged at his hair, and his arms were wrapped tight around himself like he was cold, even though the night was mild. His costume was off, replaced by a loose hoodie, and you could see the faint, pale lines of fresh bandages peeking out from the sleeve.
Your throat tightened, but you walked over anyway, sitting down a safe distance awayâclose enough to be there, far enough that he wouldnât feel cornered. âYou havenât been sleeping,â you said quietly. It wasnât a question; the dark circles under his eyes were deeper than ever, his face thinner, his movements stiff with exhaustion. He didnât look at you. His voice was flat, emptyânothing like the soft, earnest tone you knew so well. âI sleep enough.â\
âYou donât,â you insisted, voice shaking just a little. âAnd you havenât spoken to me properly in ten days. You walk past me like Iâm⊠like Iâm just another person. Like we didnâtââ You broke off, swallowing hard. Like we didnât love each other.
Izukuâs shoulders tensed. He stared harder at the horizon, his hands gripping the edge of the concrete so tight his knuckles turned white. âItâs better this way.â
âBetter for who?â You could feel tears pricking at your eyes again, hot and sharp. âFor you? Because you get to carry everything alone? For me? Because I get to sit here and watch you destroy yourself and pretend I donât care?â Finally, he turned his head. The look in his eyes nearly broke youâhollow, aching, full of a pain he wouldnât let himself speak aloud.
âBetter for you,â he said, each word rough and heavy. âEvery time I talk to you⊠every time I look at you⊠I want to break every promise I made to myself. I want to run to you and tell you I donât care about the danger, or the risk, or anything else. But I do care. Because if anything happened to you because of me⊠Iâd never forgive myself. Never.âHe looked away again, voice dropping to a whisper. âIâm doing this so youâre safe. Even if you hate me for it. Even if I have to be a stranger to you from now on. Itâs the only thing I can do right.â
âI donât want safe, Izuku,â you cried softly, tears spilling over. âI want you. The boy who cries when heâs happy, who stays up all night writing notes about everyone, who holds me like Iâm something precious. Iâd take every risk, every heartache, every second of fear⊠if it means I get to be with you. Donât you see? Youâre worth every bit of it.â
He flinched like youâd struck him, and for a second you thought heâd reach for youâthought heâd finally let the wall crumble down. But instead, he stood up quickly, turning his back to you. His hands were shaking at his sides. âPlease,â he said, and his voice sounded like it was tearing apart. âPlease just⊠let me go. Itâs easier if you let me go.â
Before you could say anything else, he walked awayâfast, like he was running from you, like he was running from his own heart. You stayed there on the roof long after heâd gone, the wind cold against your face, staring at the empty space where heâd been.
Somewhere inside the building, a door clicked shutâanother barrier closed, another mile added between you. And you knew, with a heavy, aching certainty, that this wasnât over. But for now, all you could do was wait, and hurt, and hope that one day soon heâd realize: love isnât something you protect people from. Itâs the only thing worth fighting for.
Three weeks later, the alarm blares through the dorms at 2:17 a.m.âsharp, urgent, and impossible to ignore. Youâre out of bed before your mind fully catches up, pulling on your hero costume and rushing to the common room, where everyoneâs already gathering. The screen on the wall shows the live feed: a high-risk villain attack in the city centre, multiple hostages, and a threat of a large-scale explosion.
Your eyes immediately search for him. Izuku stands near the front, shoulders squared, face set in that determined mask he wears when danger is near. But even from here, you can see the toll the last few weeks have takenâheâs paler, sharper around the edges, and when he shifts his weight, thereâs a faint wince he tries to hide. He hasnât spoken to you since that night on the roof; every glance, every accidental brush past each other, has been met with him looking away, his jaw tight with pain he wonât let show.
âTeams are assigned,â Aizawaâs voice cuts through the noise, steady and grim. âMidoriya, youâre on front-line rescue and evacuation. Move fast, and donât take unnecessary risks.â Izuku nods once, already moving toward the exit. Just before he steps out, he glances backâonly for a split secondâbut his eyes lock with yours. Thereâs so much in that look: fear, longing, regret, and a silent goodbye that makes your chest ache so bad you can barely breathe. Then heâs gone, disappearing out the door with the others, and youâre left standing there, cold dread settling heavy in your bones.
Youâre assigned to support and perimeter securityâstaying back to guide civilians to safety and block off danger zones. Itâs safer work, the kind meant to keep you out of harmâs way, and you know exactly why it was arranged. Because he asked, you realise with a sharp twist of pain. Heâs still trying to keep me apart from everything, even now. For the next hour, you work on autopilot, guiding people, checking for injuries, listening to the comms crackle with updates from the front line. But every second feels like an hour. You can hear Izukuâs voice through the speakerâbreathless, strained, shouting instructions, pushing himself harder than youâve ever heard him push before. Heâs faster, stronger, reckless, throwing himself between danger and anyone else whoâs in the way.
Then comes the sound that makes your blood run cold. A deafening boom, loud even through the comms, followed by the screech of crumbling concrete and shouts of alarm. Static fills the line for a terrifying few seconds, before you hear his voice againâweak, breathless, and tight with pain. âStructure⊠unstable. Get everyone out⊠now. Iâll⊠Iâll hold it up.â
Your heart stops. You know exactly what that means. Heâs going to use One For All to brace the collapsing section of the buildingâtaking the full force of the weight and impact onto his own body, knowing it will break him, knowing he might not be able to get out in time. Without thinking, you run. You ignore the calls behind you, you duck past safety barriers, you sprint straight toward the smoke and dust rising from the city centre, your legs burning, your lungs aching, all you can think is I canât lose him. Not like this. When you burst onto the scene, the sight makes you want to scream.
Part of the multi-storey building has caved in, huge slabs of concrete hanging precariously, and standing right beneath the heaviest section is Izuku. His arms are raised, muscles straining, veins popping, green lightning crackling wildly around his bodyâevery ounce of his power forced out to hold the weight up. His costume is torn to shreds, blood running down his face, his legs shaking so hard you can see it from metres away. Heâs already broken, you can tell; his body is tearing itself apart just to buy everyone else time.
âIZUKU!â You donât care about the debris, or the danger, or anything else. You run straight toward him, scrambling over broken stone and twisted metal, until youâre close enough to see his eyesâwide, terrified, and full of agony. âGet back!â he gasps, voice cracking, blood dripping from his mouth. âGet outâpleaseâitâs going to come downââ
âIâm not leaving you!â You reach him, grabbing his arm, trying to help support the weight even though you know you canât possibly take any of it from him. Tears are streaming down your face, mixing with the dust and smoke. âIâm not going anywhere, do you hear me? I told youâI chose you! Every part of you! And Iâm not letting you die here just to keep me âsafeâ!â
He lets out a broken, ragged sob, his head falling forward. âI canât⊠I canât do this anymore⊠Iâm so tired⊠I just wanted to keep you safeâŠâ
âSafety means nothing without you!â You shout it, loud and fierce, gripping his face in your hands, forcing him to look at you even as the ground shakes around you. âDo you think Iâd rather be alive and alone, than with you even if itâs dangerous? Do you think thatâs ever been a choice for me? You are my safety, Izuku! Youâre the only place Iâve ever felt whole!â
The building groans louder, shifting, and Izukuâs knees buckle. Heâs reaching his limitâevery bone, every muscle, screaming in protest, his vision starting to blur. But your hands on his face, your voice, your wordsâthey cut through the pain clearer than anything else. All the walls he built, all the distance he forced between you, comes crashing down in that second, because he realises, with blinding clarity: he was wrong. He thought keeping you away would protect you, but all he did was hurt you, and hurt himself, and miss the only thing that makes all of this worth it.
âIâm sorry,â he chokes out, tears mixing with the blood on his face, his grip faltering just a little. âIâm so sorry⊠I was so scared⊠I love you⊠I love you so much it destroys meâŠâ
âThen let me love you back!â You wrap your arms around him, pressing yourself as close as you can, shielding him as much as you can, even though you know itâs hopeless. âLet me stay! We face it togetherâeverything! The pain, the fear, the battlesâall of it! Or we donât face it at all! But Iâm not letting you carry it alone anymore!â
For a second, everything goes still. The dust hangs in the air, the noise fades, and itâs just you and himâbroken, bleeding, terrified, and so deeply, desperately in love it hurts. And then, with a roar of effort, he pushes. He draws on every last reserve of strength he has left, fueled not by duty or responsibility this time, but by youâby the promise you just made, by the fact that youâre here, that you love him, that youâre not letting him go. He shoves the heavy concrete slab upward, just enough, just long enough for the rescue teams to rush in, to pull you both out, to get you clear before the structure finally collapses behind you.
You land hard on the ground a safe distance away, rolling, but you donât let go of him. You drag yourself over, pulling his broken, shaking body into your lap, holding him tight as he gasps for breath, his entire body trembling with pain and exhaustion. Heâs hurtâbadly. You can already tell there are multiple fractures, internal injuries, the kind that will take weeks, maybe months, to heal. But when he lifts his head to look at you, his green eyes are bright, clear, and full of something he hasnât let himself feel in so long: hope.
He reaches up, his hand shaking so hard it takes all his strength just to touch your face, his fingers brushing gently over your cheek.âI was such an idiot,â he whispers, voice rough and weak, but soft, so soft. âI thought⊠pushing you away would keep you safe. But I didnât realise⊠that losing you was the most dangerous thing of all.â
You kiss his palm, tears falling onto his skin, holding him closer. âYouâre never going to lose me. Not again. No matter what happens.â He closes his eyes, leaning his weight fully against you, finally letting himself restâfinally letting himself be yours.
âOkay,â he breathes, a small, broken, relieved smile tugging at his lips. âOkay⊠together. From now on⊠everything⊠together.â The sirens are getting closer now, voices calling out, but none of it matters. All that matters is that heâs here, heâs alive, and the silence between you is finally brokenâreplaced by the truth youâve both been too scared to say, but needed more than anything.
Denki Kaminari x reader
confession// any gender
P.S. request any characters you would like to see any time thank you I appreciate you for reading any criticism or feedback is appreciated too <3
The common room was loud, bright and full of absolute chaos. This is exactly the place Denki thrives in, music played from the speakers and people were shouting and laughing over games. Sero and Mina were arguing over who got the last bag of crisps. You were all curled up on the sofa only half watching everyone. Suddenly a familiar weight jumped down right beside you with such an impact it almost knocked you sideways. âHey you!â
You looked over and there he was- golden messy hair, big grin stretched across his face and his yellow eyes catching in the sunlight through the window. He was leaning in way too close, like he always did, like being near you was his favourite place to be.
âHi, Denki,â you said, smiling back despite yourself. âYou seem extra hyped today. How many energy drinks did you drink?â âPfft, only three,â he joked, elbowing you gently. âBut actually⊠Iâve been looking for you everywhere. You vanished after training, and I got bored without someone to mess around with.â You rolled your eyes playfully, but your heart did that familiar little flutter it always did when he was around. It had been happening for a while now â every time he laughed, every time he called your name, every time heâd casually throw an arm around your shoulders like it was the most natural thing in the world. Youâd tried to brush it off at first, told yourself it was just how he was with everyone. But lately⊠the way he looked at you had changed. His gaze would linger a little longer, his touches were softer, and sometimes heâd get this quiet, thoughtful look on his face like he was trying to figure something out. Or like he was scared to say something.
âBored without me, huh?â you teased, nudging him back. âI thought youâd be busy showing off your new move to everyone.â Denkiâs grin softened, turning into something warmer, more genuine. He leaned back against the sofa, stretching his arms out along the backrest â and in the process, his hand ended up resting just behind your shoulders, his fingers brushing lightly against your arm. The small touch sent a warm tingle all through you, exactly like his quirk â gentle, buzzing, electric.
âEh⊠showing offâs fun and all,â he said, his voice dropping a little lower, quieter, so only you could hear. âBut itâs way better when youâre watching. Yâknow? When I do something cool, the first person I wanna look at is you. To see if youâre impressed. Or⊠or just to see you smile.â Your breath caught. You turned to look at him properly, and realised his cheeks were flushed pink, his usual confident energy fading into something shy and nervous. He was scratching the back of his neck, avoiding your eyes for a second, before he finally looked right at you â his expression open, earnest, and so incredibly sweet it made your chest ache. âDenkiâŠâ
âI know, I know,â he said quickly, rushing to talk like he was scared youâd stop him. âIâm an idiot, right? I talk too much, I mess up my quirk and turn into that brain-dead version of myself, I make dumb jokes all the time⊠Iâm not cool or serious or anything like the other guys. But⊠but when Iâm with you? I feel like I could actually be someone worth liking. Someone good enough for you.â
He took a shaky breath, and moved a little closer, his hand shifting so his fingers were lightly tracing small, slow circles on your arm â sending little sparks of warmth right through your skin. âI like you,â he blurted out, fast and bright and nervous, exactly like him. âLike⊠really like you. Way more than just a friend. I have for ages. I just⊠I was scared if I said it, youâd laugh, or think I was just messing around, or⊠or you wouldnât feel the same, and then Iâd ruin everything. And I couldnât lose you. Youâre the best thing that ever happened to me, yâknow?â For a second, neither of you spoke. The noise of the room felt far away now, like it was happening behind a thick wall. All you could hear was the fast, excited beating of your own heart, and all you could see was Denki â soft, vulnerable, and so full of feeling it made your eyes prickle.
You reached out, taking his hand in yours, lacing your fingers through his. He jumped a little, eyes going wide, like he hadnât expected it â like he still couldnât believe you were there, touching him, listening to him.âDenki,â you said softly, squeezing his hand tight. âI like you too. More than anything. I donât care about the dumb jokes or when you overuse your quirk â I love all of you. Youâre funny, and kind, and you make every single day brighter just by being there. You donât have to be cool or serious or anyone else. You just have to be you. Thatâs the person I like.â His face lit up â literally, almost, his whole expression glowing with happiness. A huge, beaming smile broke across his face, brighter than any flash of electricity he could ever produce.
âReally?â he asked, voice small and hopeful. âYou mean it? Youâre not just saying that to be nice?â âReally,â you laughed softly, leaning a little closer to him. âI mean every word.â Denki let out a breathless, happy laugh, and before you knew it, heâd wrapped both arms around you, pulling you into a warm, tight hug â careful not to use his quirk, just holding you close like he never wanted to let go. His cheek rested against the top of your head, and you could feel his heart beating fast against your chest, matching your own.
âBest day ever,â he mumbled into your hair, sounding so happy he could burst. âSeriously. This beats every win, every cool move, everything. You have no idea how long Iâve wanted to do this. How long Iâve wanted to tell you.â He pulled back just enough to look at you, his eyes soft and bright and full of nothing but you. Slowly, carefully, he reached up, brushing a strand of hair away from your face, his fingers warm and gentle against your skin.
âCan IâŠ?â he asked quietly, his voice barely a whisper. You nodded, heart racing, and he leaned in â soft, sweet, and electric â kissing you gently, like you were something precious. It felt exactly like him: warm, electric, bright, and perfect. When you finally pulled apart, Denki was grinning like an idiot, pink flush high on his cheeks, looking happier than youâd ever seen him. He squeezed your hand again, lacing your fingers together tight, and rested his head on your shoulder.

One-Shot:Â Bakugou x reader
Bakugou has a crush but cannot confess because you have a partner already.
P.S please lmk in your ask box if there's any specific characters or themes you want me to write i'm more than happy to do so.
The training grounds were just as loud as always- shouting, the sound of quirks, the grunting of people fighting and thuds of impacts. None of It was registering to Bakugou he was too busy and his eyes were fixed on you, like always. They followed your every move as you practiced techniques with Mina. You laughed at something she said, bright and easy, and something twisted sharp and hot in his chest.
It wasnât anger. He knew that now, even if heâd spent months trying to convince himself it was. Heâd blamed it on annoyance, on you being too soft, too nice, too distracting when he was trying to be the best. Heâd told himself he just hated how easily you got along with everyone, how you could calm him down with just a look when he was ready to blow up at the whole world. But today, it all clicked into place, loud and undeniable like one of his own explosions.
He was watching you adjust your gear, wiping a bead of sweat from your forehead, when he walked over......Your boyfriend. He was in the support course, a nice enough guy, decent enough â strong, smart, the kind of person everyone liked without even trying. Bakugou had never paid him much attention before, only ever registering him as some extra face in the crowd. But right now, he saw everything.
He saw the way your face lit up the second you spotted him. The way you stepped toward him automatically, like a magnet finding its pole. He saw the way the boy smiled at you â soft, proud, completely yours â as he handed you a water bottle heâd brought for you. He saw you lean in when he said something quiet, giggling, and then⊠then you took his hand. Fingers laced together, easy and familiar, like youâd done it a hundred times. And that was when it hit him â hard, heavy, and agonisingly clear.
His stomach dropped like heâd taken a direct hit to the gut. His heart hammered too fast, too hard, a frantic rhythm he couldnât control. The realisation burned through him hotter than his own explosions, searing every thought heâd ever had about you until there was nothing left but the truth:
He liked you. Not as a classmate. Not as some extra person he had to share a dorm with. Not as a friend. He liked you in the way that made him want to be the one handing you water bottles. The way that made him want to be the one you smiled at like that, the one you leaned into, the one whose hand you reached for without even thinking about it. He liked you so much it felt like his ribs were too small to hold everything he felt, like he was going to burst apart with it â and he hadnât even realised it until this exact second. And it was too late.
âBakugou? You gonna stand there staring all day, or are we training?â Kirishimaâs voice broke through his daze, cheerful and clueless. Bakugou didnât answer. He turned sharply on his heel, marching away before anyone could see the expression on his face â something raw, wounded, and completely unfamiliar. He needed to get away. He needed space. He needed to stop seeing the way you looked at someone else like they were the only person in the world.
He ended up on the far side of the building, leaning against the cold brick wall, hands pressed tight against it, knuckles white. His breath came out in short, sharp huffs, and small, angry sparks popped and fizzled from his palms. How had he let this happen? How had he let you worm your way past every defence he had, past every wall heâd built to keep people out, without even noticing you were doing it?
He thought back over everything, replaying every moment like a punishment. He remembered how you were the only one who never flinched away from his temper. When he was yelling, when everyone else was stepping back or rolling their eyes, youâd just stand there, calm and steady, and say, âYou done yet? Good, then listen.â And he always did. He always listened to you.
He remembered late nights in the common room, when heâd be up studying or training alone, and youâd bring him a hot drink without a word, setting it down beside him before sitting nearby to do your own work. You never bothered him, never talked his ear off, just⊠existed there, quiet and warm, and somehow that made everything easier.
He remembered the time heâd gotten hurt during a villain attack â nothing serious, just a gash along his arm â and youâd been the first one there. Youâd cleaned it and bandaged it carefully, your hands gentle, your face tight with worry, and youâd scolded him for pushing too hard. âYou donât have to win everything, Katsuki,â youâd said, and hearing his first name from your mouth had made his heart race so fast heâd thought he might pass out. At the time, heâd called it being annoyed. Now he knew exactly what it was. It was you. It had always been you. And you belonged to someone else.
âHey.â The voice made him jump â actually jump â and he flinched, sparks flaring brighter before he got them under control. He looked up, and there you were. Of course you were. You always found him, no matter where he hid. You were standing a few feet away, hands in your pockets, head tilted slightly, that familiar concerned look in your eyes. You werenât with your boyfriend anymore; youâd come looking for him.
âYou stormed off pretty fast,â you said softly, stepping closer but keeping a safe distance, like you knew he was coiled tight enough to snap. âYou okay? You look⊠upset. More than usual.â Upset didnât cover it. He felt like he was burning down from the inside out.
ââm fine,â he grunted, turning his face away so you wouldnât see the way his jaw was clenched, so you wouldnât see the hurt in his eyes. âJust sick of today. Sick of everything.â You didnât buy it. You never did. You moved closer still, until you were right beside him, leaning back against the wall just like he was, shoulder almost brushing his. Close enough that he could smell the soft, familiar scent of you.
âYouâre a terrible liar, you know,â you said quietly. You didnât push him, didnât demand answers. You just stayed there, like you always did. âWhatever it is⊠you know you can say it, right? You donât have to carry everything alone.â If only you knew. If only you knew that you were the thing he was carrying. The thing he couldnât put down, couldnât get rid of, couldnât ever have. He looked at you then â really looked â and his chest ached so bad it was hard to breathe. You were so beautiful it hurt. Kind, brave, bright, everything he admired, everything he wanted. And you were looking at him like he mattered, like he was important to you, while belonging entirely to someone else.
If only Iâd figured it out sooner, he thought bitterly. If only Iâd been less of an idiot, less of an asshole, maybe⊠But there was no maybe. There was only reality. You were happy. You were safe. You were loved. And he would rather tear his own heart out than be the reason that happiness ended. He was Katsuki Bakugou. He was going to be the number one hero. He stood for winning, for being the best, for taking everything he wanted and making it his own. But not this. Never this. This was one thing he couldnât fight for. Because fighting for it would mean hurting you. And he realised, with a crushing certainty, that he loved you too much to ever do that.
âBakugou?â You reached out, lightly touching his arm, and he had to force himself not to flinch away, not to grab your hand and hold it there forever. He swallowed the lump in his throat, shoving every feeling deep down, locking it away behind every wall he had â stronger, higher, harder than ever before. He put the mask back on: the scowl, the sharp tone, the distance. âNothinâ,â he muttered, pushing himself off the wall and standing tall, hands stuffed deep in his pockets so he wouldnât reach for you. âJust tired. Donât worry about it.â He started to walk away, but he paused for just a second, unable to leave without saying something â something to let you know, even if youâd never understand, even if youâd never know how true it was.
He glanced back at you one last time, his red eyes burning with everything he couldnât say. ââŠYou deserve everything good, yâknow. Donât let anyone make you settle for less.â And before you could ask what he meant, before you could see the pain he was hiding, he turned and walked away fast, leaving you standing there confused.
