Angels
Aerith had a vivid imagination. A coping mechanism for her many lonely moments, she supposed.
Still, nothing in her wildest dreams could’ve prepared her for the guy who crashed through her church’s ceiling like a falling angel. He landed right in the middle of her flowers, and she rushed over to make sure he (and the flowers) were okay.
He was…handsome. Dark hair slicked back. Sharp black uniform. Strong. And when his eyes opened, they were this mesmerizing azure tinted with green.
He smiled and called her an angel, and a funny feeling flitted around her chest and took wing.

Tifa in "The Pirate King's Challenge" FINAL FANTASY VII EVER CRISIS
"No, Tifa doesn't know Cloud the best. It's Aerith/Zack/Sephiroth/etc."
Ok first of all, Cloud Strife himself doesn't know him best, ain't no mf know him whole. Secondly, nobody knows more version of Cloud than Tifa, no one.
Zack doesn't know SOLDIER Cloud.
Aerith doesn't know real Cloud.
Sephiroth is just straight up projecting. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it.
Even his own mom didn't know that he joined Shinra until Tifa told her.
The only person who meets every version of Cloud, aka kid Cloud, teen Cloud, infantry Cloud, SOLDIER Cloud, AC Cloud, and more; is Tifa, only her. That's a fact. Hell yeah, Tifa doesn't know Cloud that well, but she for sure knows him better than the rest. She wins by elimination. Just because Cloud makes the truth overcomplicating for Tifa to approach cos he's autistic and possessed by brain eating alien doesn't mean she isn't the pivot of his life and the only one who he opens up wholeheartedly to. Argue with Cloud. I don't make the rule.
People seriously underestimate how many versions of Cloud that Tifa has known and loved. Every persona, facade, high and low of him have been seen by her. Some of those are created because of Tifa. To know Cloud is to track back to Tifa.
Obviously Cloud is a multifaceted person and can have different dynamic with different people. But that's the problem, ppl seem to always to set a weirdly high standards for Tifa when it comes to Cloud. Unless she can straight up read his mind and be the perfect ray of sunshine in his life, none of their shared memories, trauma, personal traits, confrontations, conflicts, secrets count. Which is absurd, ppl give other characters more credit for less. Every time Tifa poses a challenge to Cloud's insecurity, ppl brush it off as they're incompatible instead of seeing it as necessary trial for Cloud to face and learn. Ppl always ask for character growth until character actually grows.

"Someday we'll find the answer. Right, Tifa? That's what I learned from you when I was in the Lifestream."

YUFFIE KISARAGI FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION (2027)
Another reminder cos mf are dumb and disingenuous af. Fun fact you larper, Cloud the SOLDIER has been in mindless state twice:
First is when he got out of the tube for about 1 year and another 2 months after Zack's death.
The second time is in Mideel, after floating in the Lifestream for a couple of days.
And surprise, surprise, he DIDN'T fix himself for shit both times. Guess who was there for both of his awakening?
That's right, this little lady.
Oh sorry, what? Tifa said that Cloud found himself? Yeah cos she's a humble person, no? Wait, you think she means she didn't help at all? That's your gotcha? That's funny, cos Tifa also said this:
Let's see. Her confirmation, her answer, her guidance, her discovery, all said by Tifa, too. And oh look, she refers them as a team. Surely you'll take her words here as well, won't you? Or are they suddenly invalid cos, let me guess, she's an "unreliable narrator?"
Y'all just need to give credit where it dues. Face it, without Tifa, Cloud is fucked, that's a fact. If he could've fixed himself on his own, he'd have done that in the 1 year traveling with Zack or the few days swimming in the Lifestream after Northern Crater. He didn't. And if you think that takes anything away from Cloud, you just don't understand him. The point of Cloud's arc is to understand that isolation is a burden and only when you rely on others that you can survive. That's his whole bag. These scenes exist for a reason. The story is storying. Shut the hell up and watch it unfold.
