Iβm still not sure where the disconnect is coming from with Azrielβs Bonus chapter.
Ppl have purposely misconstrued Azrielβs moment with Elain and then run with Rhysandβs incorrect assessment of Azriels intentions/ motivations for her.
Which is weird because we know that Rhys has stated that he canβt really read his brother for shit. His shadows hide βtoo muchβ. So what makes yβall think Rhys was right?
The whole first part of that chapter literally was a master class in yearning and attraction. Literally SJMβs hottest scene ever in my opinion ( Iβve read plenty of real smut outside this series and Iβve never been so completely enthralled by how heady/ passionate this scene was without the actual act taking place)
The yearning is in conjunction with his own internal struggles with self worth. We know he has these issues that usually stopped him from truly pursing Mor, though we see heβs tried, but only in subtle moments of looks and rejected touch. In the BC, his want of Elain, superseded his emotional turmoil. So this whole, he feels entitled to her thing? It makes no sense for his character.
His entire belief system, that we are aware of, is that heβs unworthy. Heβs a literal workaholic- heβs always proving his usefulness when he doesnβt have too. Heβs proving to himself that heβs not βnothing at allββ¦
but letβs be real, he wonβt until something makes him develop or push him emotionally.
Idk how ppl came to the conclusion that he was an incel.
The romance was in the first half of that chapter and βendedβ with them still up in the air and dejected. Thatβs on purpose ppl. So it can be explored after β What if the cauldron is wrong?β π
You know, cuz that question was answered in CC and then again by SJMβ¦
soβ¦ obvious connections means itβs going to be explored within the next set of books about them (Elriel)β¦
So again, where is the disconnect? I donβt get it.
Also, I canβt believe ppl are still on that after 5 years. Its ridiculous.
