Starrach - pronounced ‘star-rock’ and means clumsy (not to be confused with ciotóg, which means an awkward left-handed person!) Róshean dó seo, and mostly here for the audio dramas
okay but what about a FEMALE podcast protagonist who whimpers throughout the whole thing and is always on the brink of death and thinks she's a monster for the things she's done and saves so many people and hurts so many people and fucks up and tries again and has so so so many scars. could you be normal about her or would the misogyny prevail
Today, Bandcamp waives their cut of revenue so that all proceeds go directly to us, the artists. To celebrate, we're dropping the official animatic for "Everything's Gonna Be Alright (Tin Can Audio Remix)," created in collaboration with @tincanaudio and @maroonracoon.
Earlier this year, the wonderful Amber Devereux remixed the song “Friend of Mind,” featured on Hearthbound, live on Twitch. The result is this dreamy, luminescent spark of a track, brought to life by the marvelous Anatola Howard.
Watch the full animatic on the Stray Lungs Youtube channel.
If you've already bought the Hearthbound soundtrack, you can download the bonus track now and burn it onto your favorite mixtape for that friend who could really use some sleep (me, I'm the friend).
Otherwise, now's the perfect time to buy Hearthbound (Original Soundtrack) with the remix included!
Want to support more artists? Here are some friends of Stray Lungs you can check out on Bandcamp as well:

As always you can listen to Hearthbound wherever you get your podcasts. Or sign up for our newsletter for the latest on what we're making next.
Today's my birthday and I'd like to share a new comic with you, it's called Marginalia. It's a love letter to all the weirdness of medieval manuscripts, and you can read it by unfolding a single sheet of paper!
Risograph print editions are also available in my shop.
My online store has gotten a big influx of orders in the past week because of it. Please be patient with extended processing times while I fulfill all of them--rest assured that all your weird little medieval freaks are making their way to you!
Something's happening over on the Tell No Tales Feed 👀
From the shownotes:
Hi everyone, Leon here, writer and producer of Tell No Tales, voice of Leo Quinn, and finally, after almost two years, the bearer of good news! Tell No Tales will be returning on Monday 4th May (shortly after its 4th birthday!), and will continue releasing weekly on Mondays for the remaining nine episodes of season two. The teaser you’re listening to now contains clips from the next four episodes, and there’s so much more to come.
I want to apologise again for the delay and to say just how much I appreciate the kind words and patience from those of you who have reached out to me during the hiatus. The last two years have been an absolute onslaught of unexpected turns in my life, some good, some bad, and it turns out trying to make it as a full-time author is not for the faint of heart (who would’ve guessed?). I also want to say, unequivocally, that these delays were entirely on my end. The actors who worked on this season were absolutely fantastic, and sent in their lines long before season two started releasing. It was the sound design and production elements, both tasks that are solely my responsibility, that caused the hiatus to go on for as long as it did. But the last thing I wanted to do was to risk ending the hiatus too soon, and eventually finding myself back in the same position where I was unable to keep up with the weekly releases. I’m now finally confident that I can release the rest of the season to the best of my ability with no further interruptions, so thank you all again for bearing with me while I worked towards that.
Finally, I’m aware that it’s been a long time since S2E16 was released, which is why I’m announcing this now, a month in advance. If you need time to re-listen and refresh your memory, now is the time to do it. But if you’d rather not, we’ve posted a little re-cap on our tumblr of the story so far. If you haven’t caught up yet, proceed with caution. Spoilers abound.
I have missed making this show more than I can say, and I’m so excited to share the rest of this story with you. See you next month, and remember: the dead don’t bite (yet).
And for those of you interested in a S2 recap, you can find that below the cut:
So, after being convinced – or blackmailed, mostly – to work with Frank, Leo split off from Riley and Julia to investigate the fracturing spirit plane. Their research found that the concentration of spirits – especially powerful ones such as the recently re-discovered categories four through seven – is leading to an oversaturation of the spirit plane, causing many spirits to regress through the categories, and risk fading away, losing their grip on reality entirely.
Riley and Julia, meanwhile, were determined not to let their friend’s betrayal stop them from fighting, and have been working with a woman called Louisa Truman. Louisa represents the activist group Liberating History, who are trying to save The Coronation Club, an old gay bar and home to the spirit of Arthur Holloway – the deceased partner of season one’s Stephen Pritchard.
In the midst of all of this, Frank has apparently been feeling something almost akin to compassion for Leo’s situation, and has been working on developing a mobile tether – a device that will allow Removed spirits to temporarily be released from their capsule. Leo turns a bit of a blind eye to Frank’s unethical experimentation on spirits throughout this process, because this device would allow them to finally speak with their late brother, Noah: the catalyst for every bad decision Leo has made in recent memory.
It is this reunion between Leo and Noah, and the resulting breakdown from Leo’s unresolved grief, that finally reconciles Leo, Riley and Julia. With the three now working together in Frank’s warehouse labs, much is uncovered. Such as Riley’s weird sleepwalking thing, don’t even worry about it I’m sure they’re fine that was totally normal of them. And Julia taking only a few days to work out what Leo’s spent several months puzzling over: that the overcrowding of the spirit plane is Frank’s fault. After his hostile takeover of Mortui Non Morden, Frank never learned the closely guarded ritual for moving spirits on, and has been storing (or, um, occasionally eating) them for decades.
After a conversation with Noah using the new mobile tether, Julia suggests using the tether to speak with Montgomery Whitley – a previous director of Mortui Non Morden, and Frank’s father – to learn about the ritual. Frank is decidedly unimpressed with this suggestion, but after some light bullying and some unexpected compassion, concedes that it is their only option. And that is where we’ll pick up in season two, episode seventeen: A Despicable Man.

Our final episode went live earlier for backers and patrons over at patreon.com/pinetreepods! I will have many sappy things to say on the official release day but for now: tears <3
Jeremy is the soppiest wettest little guy. He pretends to be mad at everything but inside he is extremely soft and squishy.
Angriest little rat man in existence, forced by his job to babysit a secret facility of vampire thralls when vampires are his absolute lest favourite thing ever. Possessed by the ghost of Jonathan Harker, a man 1000x nicer and sweeter than he is. Swears as much as he breathes. Born to write terrible poetry, forced to lock in and wear terrible grey suits while carrying Dracula's severed heard across the Yorkshire Moors.
I am sending in propaganda for Jeremy Larkin. I mean, just look at him! Put in a situation totally against his will with a woman he hardly knows, two ghosts, and the severed head of Dracula?? Then, to top it all off, he constantly gets the short end of the stick. He has to trek for miles, can't get anyone in his company to care about him, is possessed by a ghost, and just wants to be respected. Get this wet cat a warm blanket and a cup of coffee.
spoilers for Welcome to the Horizon 2.5 - The True Trans Traveler under the cut
absolutely fucking hilarious for Mister Lived On A Time Travelling, Dimension Spanning Diner, Now Lives On A Time Travelling, Dimension Spanning MOUNTAIN to be so outraged at the idea that the the true trans traveler could be real
"If there's ever a situation where a large group of people are in trouble - natural disaster, war, environmental collapse - the legend says that sometimes in those situations, the true trans traveller appears. It's a gigantic ship, that appears out of nowhere, and is completely undetectable when it travels (...) it's a fairy tale, Frank"
my brother in christ look around. look where you are right now. my brother that describes the constructs almost word for word
that is absurdly funny to me
the exact same vibe as trinkett believing in fairies but thinking bigfoot is ridiculous
Due to unforseen circumstances, we have had to recast our Dr Erasmus, and we are happy to welcome Leon Egan onto our cast as their voice going forward!
Did you hear about how scientists are experimenting with gene splicing? I heard that they're trying to splice a crab and cheetah together. That could go sideways real fast.
