The unicorn uses their horn to turn one’s best memories (falling in love, greatest achievements, happiest days) into golden clocks and watches. These are worth a fortune but are very delicate and feature detailed Art Nouveau-inspired ornaments. Once a memory takes the form of a clock, the person no longer has that memory. It's wiped and kept within the timepiece. They can sell the clock to gain a fortune, but they'll be stripped of their memories in the process. The happier the memory, the more expensive the clock. Each one takes a unique shape that references the specific events of the memory.

This is Cruziohyla craspedopus, and basically it has evolved to look like a leaf and not like a frog when sitting still during the day (they are nocturnal). Apparently bellbottoms break up your outline and make it harder for predators to recognise you as a tasty morsel.
