On their first date, Steve picks Eddie up. While driving, Centerfold by The J. Geils band starts playing. Eddie groans and moves to change the station but Steve stops him saying it’s his favorite song. Eddie suffers through the whole song only because Steve looks cute singing along.
Every time it plays after that night, Eddie will make a big show of how much he despises that song. Steve knows he’s joking because one time he tried to turn it off and Eddie slapped his hand out of the way.
Years later, Corroded Coffin makes it big and is on the cover of a magazine. Eddie brings it to his and Steve’s apartment all excited. They flip through it together, both with huge smiles on their faces. They make it half way through the magazine and Steve starts laughing. Eddie’s confused and looks at the page. It’s a two page spread of the whole band and Eddie’s favorite picture from the whole shoot. Eddie doesn’t understand what’s so funny. After Steve finally catches his breath he says, “Baby, you’re the centerfold.”
Dustin has reached the point of just walking into Steve's house whenever he knows he's home, so it isn't long before he walks in on Steve and Eddie making out on Steve's couch.
Steve has been trying to keep his and Eddie's growing relationship lowkey. He remembers how frustrated Dustin was when Mike was so wrapped up in his relationship with El that he was flaking out on group plans. He doesn't want Dustin to think that's what's going to happen here. As if either of them would forget about Dustin.
So when Dustin says he needs a second and steps out of the room, Steve's heart sinks. He's already been feeling that Dustin is starting to become closer to Eddie than him because they have more hobbies in common, so he's fully expecting Dustin to accuse him of stealing his new friend. However, when Dustin comes back in, his stern look is fixed on Eddie.
"Eddie, I'm only going to say this once. I know Steve can handle himself, but he's family and he's been through a lot. So, I like being your friend, but if you ever hurt him, I'll spend every day making your life a living nightmare until you make it right," Dustin warns him to Steve's absolute shock. "And if I ever see him cry because of something you've said or done and they're not happy tears, I'm throwing your favourite guitar into the quarry. Am I clear?"
Steve is oddly touched because he's never had someone give a shovel talk on his behalf before. Eddie looks half impressed and half horrified as he nods his agreement. Dustin's expression goes right back to normal as soon as he's sure he's got the message across.
"Right, now who's driving me to the arcade?"
I love animation history and one of the things that always baffled me was how did animators draw the cars in 101 Dalmatians before the advent of computer graphics?
Any rigid solid object is extremely challenging for 2D artists to animate because if one stray line isn’t kept perfectly in check, the object will seem to wobble and shift unnaturally.
Even as early as the mid 80’s Disney was using a technique where they would animate a 3D object and then apply a 2D filter to it. This practice could be applied to any solid object a character interacts with: from lanterns a character is holding, to a book (like in Atlantis), or in the most extreme cases Cybernetic parts (like in Treasure Planet).
But 101 Dalmatians was made WAY before the advent of this technology. So how did they do the Cruella car chase sequence at the end of the film?
The answer is so simple I don’t know why it didn’t occur to me sooner:
They just BUILT the models and painted them white with black outlines 🤣
That was the trick. They’re not actually 2D animated, they’re stop motion. They were physical models painted white and filmed on a white background. The black outlines become the lineart lines and they just xeroxed the frame onto an animation cel and painted it like any other 2D animated frame.
That’s how they did it! Isn’t that amazing? It’s such a simple low tech solution but it looks so cool in the final product.

I saw that my old Eddie (5s) concept was relevant again and decided to redraw it.

Steve's ass jiggling like that while avenging his dead boyfriend and shouting his name? Fork found in kitchen.
marvel fans: wow, I guess Joseph Quinn was hot enough to play Johnny Storm after all, who could've known that?
eddie munson fans:
It’s so funny when you think about Steve figuring out he’s bi and taking flirting with men like a fish to water.
Like Robin is lowkey stoked at first cuz she thinks she can finally call out Steve as a hypocrite cuz he’s always hounding on her being so awkward with girls—expecting him to fumble and be self conscious and scared like her. But nope.
She watches with a hanging jaw as Steve just goes up to a guy to flirt.
“Steve! What if he’s homophobic!? And picks a fight!?”
“Uh, I can fight.”
“But you CAN’T tho.”
And it turns into a day long argument on whether Steve can fight or not.
“Robin, I’ve fought literal monsters. And won.”
“Yeah, but none of them started swinging now did they Steve? I’ve watched you crumple on the first swing; you can’t take a punch!”
“Then, I’ll just avoid getting punched?” [does little dodging maneuvers like he’s ever boxed a day in his life]
Robin smacks him right in the face.
“Ow, Robin wtf?”
“I was proving a point. You ain’t dodging shit.”
Robin concludes Steve has no issue with flirting with men cuz he has very low risk assessment skills.
