Prompt #12
A tv show that I really wanted to love, but ended up not liking was Netflix’s Iron Fist. My brother-in-law told me that it was a really great show, so I started watching it. Overall, I felt like they didn’t make a good casting choice when it came to the main character, which made me lose interest in the show pretty quickly. The show is supposed to be about the amazing fighting sequences/martial arts, but I felt like that aspect of the show was weak. I also feel like the character’s back story could’ve been better explained, and I found myself a little confused by the storyline at times. If I could go back in time and change it, I would make a better casting choice for the lead character, and also choreograph better action sequences between the hero and villains. I would also ensure that the martial arts aspects of the show was executed with more precision and accuracy.
Prompt #11
One movie I didn’t decide to watch was Batman vs. Superman. I heard lot of reviews about how bad Ben Affleck was as Batman. I was very intrigued to watch the film, but I ended up never watching it. I actually heard reviews from my friends and family members who previously watched the film. Their reviews convinced me because I usually have the same kind of taste in movies as my sisters, so their opinion had a big impact on me.
Prompt #10
When I was younger, I used to hate mushrooms of any kind, but now I really love to eat them. I hated it back then because I thought it looked really disgusting and had it had a bad smell to it. Now, I love eating mushrooms, and I usually prefer it on pizza or in pretty much any dish. I never gave it a chance or even tried it when I was younger, but when I finally tasted them, I began to love them.
Prompt #9
I had different ideas about what kind of documentary I wanted to write about, but I think I got down to the one I wanted. One of the documentaries I am thinking about analyzing is Super Size Me. I had watched the documentary and I was thoroughly interested in the narrator’s journey of eating only McDonald’s for an entire month. After watching it, I could see the use of pathos, ethos, and logos throughout the documentary and how it added to the visual and emotional appeal. Watching this documentary really gave me a different perspective of fast food restaurants and the effects it can have on the body over long periods of time. I was also able to see how his journey personally affected him and his girlfriend. Overall, I enjoyed watching the documentary and I hope to analyze it for this assignment.
Prompt #8
Back in 2013, I was super excited to watch this movie (After Earth), and I even paid to watch it at the movie theater. Little did I know that this movie was extremely cringey and badly executed. I had a lot of laugh out loud moments which I knew weren’t exactly meant to be “laugh-out-loud” moments. I think it had a lot of potential, but the plot holes and cheesy lines were really hard to overcome. At least I enjoyed the popcorn.
Prompt #7
The reason this song inspires me is because it helped me realize my true potential even through my toughest times. My first year of college was truly a learning experience for me and this song really encouraged me to strive for the very best academically and emotionally. It also motivated me when I was stressed about school work and exams.
Prompt #6
I was thinking about various topics for my infographic. I had different things in mind such as the background of Fender guitars, the causes and effects of malaria, or other diseases. I also thought about showing the causes, symptoms, and effects of GERD (acid reflux).

Prompt #5
I have definitely written a report before and have done multiple presentations throughout middle and high school. I remember having to give a report about environmental issues and different types of pollution, as well as finding ways to find solutions to these problems. I also remember giving a presentation about the lives of Indian tribes and they various issues they went through over the course of history. I actually don’t mind giving reports, as long as I have adequate information to share. It also helps if I am interested in the topic that I am given. I find reports and presentations to be very informative and allow me to engage in the topic and learn more about issues I may have not heard of before. It also allows me to do research of my own about a particular topic.

Prompt #1
My experience with writing has varied throughout my academic career. When I was young, I enjoyed writing short stories about my family and just day to day life, but as I got into middle/high school, I felt as though I was writing solely for the grade and not for my love of writing. I have struggled finding the right introductions and conclusions to my past papers and essays, which cost me a lot of time when it came to timed writings in high school. Finding the right words to say has also been a problem I struggle with even now. I have had to write multiple papers in college about various different topics that I honestly did not have any interest in, which is something that I have come to detest about academic writing. It doesn’t always give me the freedom to write about topics I truly have a passion for. Although, I feel like writing is a great tool for self expression and allows for the expansion of ideas through a common form of communication. Great writing gives us the opportunity to experience a world of possibilities and can help is further understand the opinions of those around us. Throughout this class, I want to learn more about effective communication through writing and have a broader understanding of the different types of writing. I also hope to analyze some satirical works of writing because that’s one of my favorites to learn from. I also want to become a better writer and gain more knowledge on how to write efficiently and effectively.
