Now's the time to restore true Showa ambition!
Here’s the trailer for The Loathsome Lambton Worm, the full-cast audio drama sequel to The Wicker Man I recently wrote and directed. Coming late 2019!
I recently wrote and directed The Loathsome Lambton Worm, a full-cast audio drama sequel to The Wicker Man based on an original treatment by Anthony Shaffer! Here’s our incredible cover artwork by the brilliant @mekagojira3k. The full play will be available as a one-off drama in late 2019 on YouTube and all good podcast platforms. Follow us on Twitter for any and all updates!
An isolated group are beseiged by attackers with familiar appearances, eventually surviving only to discover their ordeal was merely part of a massive, genocidal invasion.

After months of putting it off, I finally listened to the final episode of the Kaijusaurus Podcast. What a great podcast, still very sad that it’s gone. I hope @stevenscrivello and Ross are doing well!
I had to come out of Tumblr semi-retirement to reply to this lovely post. Thank you @pkmatrix! I’m glad you stuck with us through to the very end. Since wrapping up the show, Ross has gotten married (with a certain podcast co-host acting as Best Man), and we’re both hard at work on other creative projects. I’ve just finished the second draft of an audio drama script I’m hoping to produce next year. Then in March, it’s my turn to get married, with Ross as my Best Man!
The lone crewmember of a marine vessel is attacked by a colossal cephalopod, only for the creature to be driven off by the sudden appearance of a larger, deadlier monster.
The War of the Gargantuas (1966) Dir. Ishiro Honda The Meg (2018) Dir. Jon Turteltaub
A legendary hero is finally coaxed out of self-imposed retirement and singularly takes on a seemingly-unbeatable force, inspiring hope and ending their legend in the process.
My Name is Nobody (1973) Dir. Tonino Valerii Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) Dir. Rian Johnson
idk what you are all playing at but Doctor Who? More progressive than Star Wars, the MCU, and the DCEU combined. All this “omg gays in space! Star Wars is so progressive! Rey! Finn/Poe! Sam/Bucky! Wonder Woman! Let’s take over sci-fi! But idc about a female doctor lol fuck Moffat fuck DW sexist trash!” rhetoric like…get off your high horse… Doctor Who had gays in space long before Star Wars will even think about making Finn and Poe canon. Doctor Who had a lesbian of colour leading the show long before the MCU will give us a main protagonist of colour. Doctor Who has canonised the gender-fluidity of it’s titular protagonist long before the DCEU, the MCU and Star Wars have even so much as brought up the concept of gender fluidity/non binary poeple in their movies. People find Doctor Who embarassing bc cringe-culture demands that they hate anything they liked 5 years ago but like whatever? Doctor Who has consistently been at the top of the game in pioneering progressive sci-fi storytelling and yet people are out here mocking a show they don’t even bother to watch anymore, before instead screeching about the fact that “omg Oscar Isaac secretly played romance in his scenes with Finn!!” like??? get out of here.

The thing that I hate about atheism as a movement is that it doesn’t just want to critique the hegemony of Western Christianity, it wants to kill spirituality. There is no joy, there is nothing about it that isn’t founded in a pessimism that sees itself as so self-important that it cannot exist outside of destruction. The face of atheism is a white male disgruntled ex-Christian who decided that if he can’t find joy in religion, then nobody else can. There’s a leftover missionary sensibility to “enlighten” people to atheism that exposes itself as racist, antisemitic, and islamophobic, that’s ultimately not unlike the dominance exerted through colonial Christianity
Atheism ™ is just western Christianity with the spirituality removed.
It is still as proselytizing, self-important and violent as it ever was. It retains the obedience-culture and ‘morality’ of western Christianity dismissing all other thought as primitive and barbaric.
OH FUCK
Briefly coming out of my Tumblr hiatus to let everyone know I bought a King Kong Lives vinyl soundtrack in Berlin.
