I'm almost done with my largest crochet project, so here's a couple details from behind the scenes 🌿🌙
Has anyone considered this, I'm sure they have, but a little space for your inner child on the altar with trinkets your inner child would like and their own candle with favorite colors at the time. And I don't mean in the means of worship, of course, but an exercise of healing and being like: hey, I see you, always have seen you, I hear you, and you were a kid.
I've thought about it recently because my traumas come from childhood and I've often kind of ignored that side of myself. She's shown up in tiny ways recently with my Strawberry Shortcake obsession. But I don't know, I think this idea came from my internal thought process with Apollo, on healing and where that starts.
This is such a beautiful idea 💜
Witch tip: Another way to use scraps is to dry your used teabags:
Squeeze out as much liquid as possible.
Carefully open the bag (some tea brands will just unfold, others will need to be cut).
Evenly spread the contents out, either on the bag itself or on a plate.
Then let them dry in a sunny dry place (you may need to agitate them once or twice to ensure even drying).
Once dry, store them for later use in spells.
Bonus tip: You can also save the dried bags and reuse them as a small biodegradable spell packet or as quick burning petition papers.
Meme spread for a Reality Check
My most toxic witch trait is pretending I’m doing magic by looking at witch things on tumblr and pinterest but then not doing anything in the real world 👀
I just call it research so it seems much more important.

Smartwatch: Useable as a voice activated bracelet of spells. Using the notes app on my phone, I can write a pseudocode spell and trigger it by my voice via the trigger phrase.
Usb drive (1Tb): my amulet and spell vault. Also the way I carry my familiar spirit with me at all times.
This is a return to basics as I am helping a friend of mine learn to practice magic via technology. I figured I would share it all with you guys too.
☀️Solar Energy Spell Jar☀️
For inspiration, motivation, & energy.
Things you will need:
☀️A pocket-sized jar or other such container
☀️Small paper scroll
☀️A writing utensil with a colour you associate with motivation, inspiration, and energy (I used a yellow watercolour pencil)
☀️Ginger* - vitality, high energy
☀️Sugar - joy, sweetness
☀️Coffee* - energy, connection
☀️Marigold* - happiness, solar energy
☀️Orange zest - abundance, joy
☀️Candle (optional) - wax used to secure the ends of your paper scroll so it won't unravel. The colour can even correspond with your intent.
☀️Quartz - intentions, amplification
☀️Sunlight (preferably morning light to build up the energy as the sun rises higher) - solar energy, vitality
*Ingredients should be dried to prevent mold growth.
After gathering all your materials, cleanse the items as desired.
Take up your writing utensil and write the following on a small piece of paper: "May I be filled with inspiration, motivation, & energy ☀️".
Roll the paper into a scroll or fold small enough to fit into your jar. You can dab the ends of the scroll or sides of the folded paper in melted candle wax to seal it shut.
To the jar add ginger, sugar, coffee, marigold, orange zest and your paper.
Seal as desired and place in a sunny location with quartz to charge.
Carry with you to gain inspiration, motivation and energy throughout the day.
Queen of Rings: Rosie Gamgee
Lord of the Rings tarot by Tomás Hijo
I think people forget how much scrap material is around us everyday they can use in magic. Especially fabric.
The amount of charm bags and pouches i make from old ripped up shirts or scrab fabric is nuts. You don't need to be using big chunky martials or jars for everything when thrift stores have soooo much fabric waiting to be adopted and put to use.

Mark your calendars & roll up your sleeves, witches! It's time for a FREE Witches' Brew! ✨🌱 Saturday May 30th 9am PST / Noon EST / 5pm BST / 2am AEST (May 31) ✨🌱 Get your FREE tickets & register here! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1989548712757?aff=oddtdtcreator ✨🌱 Our seasonal Witches' Brews are FREE online witchy mini conferences that include potion making (our magical beverage segment), guest presentations, sometimes a hands-on project, and time to socialize & connect with other attendees, Brew guests & hosts, & the CTWC community. Our Brews are a wonderful way to dip your toe into the CritWitch community, and a great preview of what you can expect from our annual 3-day virtual event CRITWITCHCON. This month's Witches' Brew is a dive into all things animism: what it means, how it can inform our practices, and how we probably have it woven into our lives already! We're thinking about genus locii, stewardship of our immediate environments, the ways we connected with nature as children, and how to integrate it into our witchcraft without falling into extractive practices ✨🌱 Witches' Brews are recorded (minus community chat) and available to our paid Patreon subscribers later in the season, so you can revisit our presentations. Learn more about us at www.criticalthinkingwitches.com Welcome to the Critical Thinking Witch Collective! Formed in 2021, we came together to make a space for critical thinking witches; witches who research, who apply scientific reasoning, who learn from history, and who question assumptions and biases. Our name has changed, but our mission remains the same: to bring together a community of critical thinking witches and seekers who respect reason, logic, and science as we also acknowledge the genuine beauty and meaning in the mysterious. And we plan to have fun while we do it. Connect, learn, and get involved with this community of like-minded witches and seekers from around the world. Join the Collective! www.criticalthinkingwitches.com
Join us for an exploration of animism in secular witchcraft, with potions, presentations, & hands on activities!
Am I interested in this Brew, absolutely! However...Celeste, of my favorite local bar, is turning 50 the evening before, so I'm unlikely to be ABLE to arise and be semi-coherent by 9am the next day.
Listen. Ian B is playing that birthday party and I'm going too. I not only have to be away at 9, but also presentable as I got roped into speaking and leading a workshop on making a genius loci sigil using maps.

How to Protect Your Home with Simple Witchcraft (Beginner-Friendly)
Your home is more than a place — it’s a sanctuary. A container for your energy, your rest, your dreams, and your magic. Witchcraft doesn’t have to be complex to be powerful, and home protection is one of the gentlest ways to weave intention into your everyday life.
Here are a few simple, beginner-friendly ways to shield and bless your space:
🌿 1. The Doorway Cleanse
Your doorway is the threshold between the outer world and your inner sanctuary. Try this:
Sweep the area with intention (even an energetic sweep works).
Whisper: “Only peace enters here.”
Place a small crystal like black obsidian or smoky quartz near the door.
A single word of intention can change the energy of the space.
🕯️ 2. Candle Protection Ritual
Light a candle (white or black works beautifully) and walk through your home slowly. Let the flame guide you. As you move, say:
“With light and warmth, I bless this home.”
Even one minute with a candle can reset the energy of a room.
🌙 3. Salt & Moon Water Blessing
This is as old as witchcraft itself.
Sprinkle salt gently across thresholds or windowsills.
Use moon water (from a recent full or new moon) to wipe down doors, mirrors, or altar spaces.
It’s simple, but incredibly grounding.
🍃 4. Herb Smoke or Simmer Pot Cleansing
You don’t need fancy tools — herbs from your kitchen work perfectly. Try smoke cleansing with:
rosemary
bay leaf
lavender
Or simmer a pot with lemon, cinnamon, and clove to shift stagnant energy.
🧿 5. Protect With Symbols
Draw a protective symbol — a rune, sigil, or even a small pentacle — above your front door with:
oil
moon water
or even your finger
Invisible doesn’t mean ineffective.
💬 Final Thought
Witchcraft isn’t about how elaborate your tools are — it’s about your intention. Protection magic is quiet, comforting, and deeply personal. Your home deserves to feel safe, warm, and yours.
Bedridden witch: Divination edition
Ideas for practicing divination while bedridden: Varying in energy + mobility required - please don’t push yourself, hopefully there’s options for everyone! Quick note: I’ve only included forms of divination I personally do.
Tarot:
Tarot apps are a great way to pull a card with a tap or two (Labyrinthos and Galaxy tarot have been recommended).
Spread the deck on a flat surface, and move your hand over to pick (let your hands sense the energy), or pick based on intuition.
Do a two-card (or more!) spread - you don’t have to lay it out if you can’t sit up, you can hold them in your hand or place on your lap.
Sleep with the deck under your pillow.
Pick one card that represents what you want from the next day and slip it under your pillow or mattress for the night, or place on your altar.
Memorize the meanings of the cards.
Make or buy a mini deck for easier use.
Do the easy “find this card and whatever is above or below it =X” spreads.
More limited mobility suggestions here
Scrying:
Use a black mirror or picture frame with black cloth/paper behind it.
Get a mini scrying bowl and fill with water, cradle it in your hands.
Pendulum:
Wear it around your neck.
Shorten the string so you don’t have to sit up.
Prop your hand on a pillow if you need the strength/steadiness.
Use off of the side of your bed if it’s too long (this can be a bit awkward)
Keep it under your pillow.
Use a mini pendulum or a necklace as a pendulum.
Make a simple board or don’t use one at all, just condition your pendulum with basic movements.
*You CAN use a pendulum even with shaky hands, it just takes a bit of bonding and conditioning.*
More limited mobility suggestions here
Tasseomancy:
Get a mug with two handles.
Keep in a sealable container until you’re ready.
Put a towel over yourself in case you spill.
Use a Tupperware container. No shame.
Runes:
(With a huge thanks to @adragonspath for compiling a list of suggestions!)
Sleep with your runes next to you.
Memorize their meaning.
Draw one rune and meditate on their meaning and how you can manifest them in your life.
Charge them with sun/moon light by your window.
Study their origin and reading methods.
Crystal and wooden runes: connect with the element Earth and the intent corresponding to the crystal/type of wood.
Other materials: meditate on the origin and development of that material. Connect with the corresponding element and intent.

Honeyed Lips
This glamour is designed to help you appear more persuasive. This can be helpful when applying for a job, public speaking, or convincing friends/family/lovers. BE AWARE - this type of glamour is inherently manipulative and should only be used to help you convince others and make people more inclined to listen to what you have to say.
MATERIALS
10g Shea Butter
10g Beeswax
10g Coconut Oil
1 Tsp Honey (Local if you can)
5 drops Sweet Orange Oil
On a double boiler (medium/low heat) melt the Shea Butter, Beeswax and Coconut Oil. Turn of heat and stir clockwise as you add the Honey and Sweet Orange Oil. Sing as you stir:
Smooth as butter,
Sweet as honey,
Enchant my words,
To be bright and sunny.
With honeyed lips,
And charming smiles,
Those who hear me
Are not hostile.
To my words,
They shall listen,
And be convinced
By my proposition.
Let it cool in a container of your choice (I like a small metal tin). Once cool, apply to your lips and repeat the above chant. The heat of your lips will activate it.

while I absolutely do think that Frigg and Freja are separate goddesses (although I also think it's a completely valid take to believe they are the same as well), I don't think we should boil the differences down to Frigg "domestic mother" and Freja "shieldmaiden whore"
