BSD SHIPS ON VALENTINES DAY
-atsushi’s kinda nervous
-he doesn’t really know what akutagawa’s gonna do or even if they’re gonna talk
-he spends half the night panicking and then the other half making a card
-it’s like a shitty red valentines day heart with badly glued lace but he has really neat handwriting so it looks fine
-he even tries to draw rashoumen. When dazai sees it, he asks why atsushi is suddenly into pokemon
-atsushi’s freaking out at this point
-“what if akutagawa doesn’t like it, dazai-san?” “I’ll tell him that he has to like it, and that he needs to date you and get married!” “DAZAI-SAN” “that wasn’t exactly a no”
-to get his mind off of everything, he goes with kyouka to get chocolates
-but of course, akutagawa’s there
-higuchi’s with him, holding seven bags of chocolate and looking miserable. atsushi’s still holding his valentines day card
-“jinko.” “akutagawa?”
-higuchi’s just like, “akutagawa senpai, if you destroy the chocolate shop on valentines day, even i won’t stand by your side.”
-they’re both just awkwardly standing there, until akutagawa shoves the chocolates into atsushi’s hands. “for you.”
-atsushi is so suprised that he almost drops them. akutagawa spots the valentines day card.
-atsushi’s freaking out, but akutagawa has already picked up the card.
-now it’s aku’s turn to freak out, because inside it, atsushi has written two love poems. like real beautiful love poems
-aku thinks he’s going to cry
-“jinko. will you be my valentine.” “YOU DON’T HAVE TO SAY IT LIKE YOURE TRYING TO KILL ME.” “understandable. i have proven my strength in fighting, but not in the ways of love. please let me take you on a date.”
-atsushi’s face is bright red. so is akutagawa’s. kyouka has a phone out and is filming it for dazai.
-they make rashoumen carry the chocolate.
-atsushi takes him to the river and they sit and talk on the pier. the rest of the time they spend walking through the city
-both of them are holding hands, but they’re so awkward about it. atsushi is beaming and akutagawa is going to burst from happiness
-when it’s finally time to go, akutagawa kisses atsushi’s cheek.
-of course, neither of them sleep that night. atsushi is too busy smiling and akutagawa spends the whole time rereading atsushi’s love poems
-ranpo is literally at poe’s apartment first thing in the morning
-“ranpo? its six in the morning? how’d you get here?” “i broke through the window!!!!” “excuse me?”
-ranpo’s still in his pajamas tho, so it makes him feel better.
-“so you need breakfast?” “just bring me powdered sugar and a straw!”
-poe does. when he comes back, ranpo is literally lying in his bed.
-“let’s watch movies poe!”
-poe doesn’t really like movies, but he agrees. he likes watching the way ranpo reacts, and the way he laughs at the funny parts
-when ranpo notices that poe isn’t engaged, he instantly turns off the tv.
-“read me your book.”
-he brings out his current manuscript, and gets a stack of his favorite books
-he spends the next few hours reading it aloud to ranpo
-ranpo has his head on poe’s shoulder. they’re lying next to each other, so karl can sit on both of their laps
-poe reads the entire story. ranpo loves it
-he ocansioally offers suggestions, and poe writes all of them down
-when poe is done, ranpo claps for five minutes
-he loved the book. he wants a copy
-poe’s so proud that he can’t stop blushing, which makes ranpo blush because it’s cute
-they decide to make a story together. ranpo hugs poe while he writes and narrates his characters parts.
-it’s a romance mystery called “the handsome detective”
-ranpo choose the title, but poe agrees entirely
-they have so much fun writing that they loose track of time
-ranpo puts on music and dances around the kitchen while poe makes them pancakes
-they turn out a little messy because ranpo tries to hug poe the whole time and tries to sneak extra sugar in
-before ranpo has to leave, they exchange gifts
-poe bought him a literal closet full of snacks
-ranpo gives him expensive classic books that he spent hours picking out, making sure that poe would like them
-he put sticky notes throughout the pages with sweet messages and wrote things like “dear poe, this reminded me of you”
-he also gave poe a bookmark with his face on it
-it’s the best valentines day that they’ve ever had
-the whole armed detective and port mafia are on lockdown
-of course, they’re too late
-when the port mafia wakes up, the entire building has been covered in pictures of chuuya and dazai together, pink hearts, and banners with pickup lines like “I put the long in no longer human”
-chuuya is touched but also mad
-“THE DAMN BASTARD. HE CAN’T BEAT ME. I’LL OUTDO HIM AND MAKE SOMETHING BETTER.”
-gin and akutagawa are on their knees praying for the city to end up safely
-chuuya uses his ability to fly up and uses the contrails to spell out “FUCK YOU DAZAI” in the sky
-at the armed detective agency:
kunikida: DAZAI WHAT DID YOU DO
dazai: he liked my gift
atsushi: was that gift a bomb?!?!?!
dazai, taking notes: good idea
-be doesn’t have to time to that though because chuuya comes flying through the window and kicks dazai in the face
-said kick is then acompined by angry kissing
-“OI, SHITTY MACKERL, I’M GONNA MAKE THIS THE BEST VALENTINES DAY YOUVE EVER HAD” “BRING IT SLUG”
-they go to the arcade that they went to when they were kids
-they met a bet that the person who wins gets to choose the next activity
-the bet quickly gets forgotten
-they play as many games as possible, and then spend half their money on the claw machine
-chuuya scores dazai a huge cat tiger “hey, you can call it atsushi”
-dazai nearly cries laughing
-eventually they get kicked out of the arcade for being too competitive in laser tag, but neither of them really mind
-it’s almost lunchtime anyways
-they buy a huge cake instead and sit on the rooftop of a building to watch the city
-eventually, dazai turns on some music from his phone and stands up
-“dance with me, chuuya.” “you’re on.”
-they end up slow dancing at the top of the city, chuuya’s head on daze’s shoulder, swaying back and forth
-even when the music stops, they keep going, and they’re laughing and talking quietly about all the things that they’ve done
-chuuya even makes dazai take off his bandages. “you don’t have to pretend with me, dazai. i know you and your shitty personality. i’m not going anywhere.”
-he kisses each one of dazai’s scars
-dazai tears up a little.
-when it’s nighttime, they go out the their favorite bar during the dark era.
-they don’t even eat, they just do karaoke and sing anime openings
-they’re also super drunk, so when they leave, they set a chocolate shop on fire
-“the armed detective agency won’t mind, it is valentines day~”
-they end up not going home. they just sit on the pier and watch the stars together, and eventually fall asleep in each other’s arms
