How To Boss Up Through The School Year
Words can not explain the emotional stress I’ve been through the first 3 weeks of this school year. Looking back, I would have never imagined I would be flowing through the big amount of work I have as easily as I am now. Here’s how I managed to do so:
1. Try not to be intimidated:
I can assure you that your classmates who seem to have it all down are struggling just as much as you are. Therefore, neither the amount of work nor the level of your classmates should send shivers down your spine. Change your perspective and look at it as a challenge, or rather an opportunity to bring out the best in you.
2. Act as if you are an A+ student:
This may appear hard when you feel overwhelmed with the school work. However, adopting such a mindset while preparing for your weakness subject boosts your confidence and gives you clearer goals. Also, act the part, be the part.
3. Work in a chronological order:
If something is due the next day, put your big guy pants on and do it. The aim of this is to cover almost if not all your subjects in an order that allows to not fall behind. Of course, you know your work, and you know when an exception to this rule is to be made.
4. Pin point your weak spot:
This goes without saying, but not knowing your weak spots stops you from making any progress.
5. Make sacrifices when needed:
Sometimes, bossing through school means messy notes in the back of a textbook or even staying up later than usual to understand that goddamn concept. Don’t let studyblr fool you into thinking that studying is all sunshine and rainbows, or worse: That you’re doing it wrong if you’re not enjoying it. It is work after all.
Take these tips with a grain of salt as I am still figuring out my stuff as well.
a gentle reminder that you’ve managed to overcome all the stressful times in your life so far and there is nothing stopping you from doing it again.Â
Just posting to let anyone interested know that this blog is back up! Thank you to everyone who was checking up on me while I was gone. Let’s make this year count loves <3 Stay happy. Stay motivated. Stay beautiful.
Weird study tip
If you’re like me, all of your study material is on your computer. So the “put your laptop away” trick just won’t work. Here’s a tip: turn your to-do list into tabs.
For example, my to-do list looks a little like this:
Workout
Read book
Learn a new lesson on Duolingo.
Basically, I would open a tab and look up a workout I’d like to do, open another and search for the pdf version of said book, and put duolingo in the last one. The idea is, the more tabs that are open, the more eager you are to just get things done and close tabs. Because who wants a million tabs open?
This worked for my friend, I tried it and it worked for me too!
a short guide to productivity
make a couple responsibility lists, one for school, one for work, one for day to day and any other such commitments you might have
Then mark each responsibility on a scale from one to three on importance/priority
So the next time you feel you have so much to do, you’re getting overwhelmed, look back at this list and start working on the number 3s in priority then complete the number 2s and then number 1s
bonus: When going about your day, arrange it so that for every 2-3 activities you do that will benefit you in the long run, do one activity that will benefit your short term e.g. work on 2 assignments, go for a run then you reward yourself by watching an episode on netflix
me: uh, how do I become an expert in coding in .. uh ..
me: *checks calendar*
me: less than a month?
100 Days of productivity // DAY TWO
No picture for today hehe. I tried making a video but it was a major fail.
I accidentally slept in today, but I have:
Finished reading another book for school (your girl is on a streak wow)
Summarized one chapter
Practiced a liiiiiiiiiiiiiittle Turkish
I honestly need to pull my shit together if I want to be fully prepared next year. I’m making my To-Do list a little more detailed for tomorrow so as not to repeat today’s mistake. Are any of you doing the 100dop? Hit me up! let’s motivate each other^^
100 Days of productivity // Day one
Today I have:
Finished reading a book for schoolÂ
Read another small book also for school
Read through a small chapter and practiced some problems
Organized my room and practiced my morning routine / habits for back to school
It was a very productive day. I am so proud of the work I’ve done although I would like to not take as many breaks as I have.
weird study tip:
if u don’t feel motivated, pretend ur in a movie or tv show. you know the scenes where they’re on their bed with their feet tucked up and crossed at the ankle, and they’re cracking open highlighters with their teeth and poring over a textbook with smooth rock music playing? that. bonus points for a perfect messy bun and spencer hastings outfit.
THIS WORKS! I do it all the time. Try it :)
So excited to start the 100dop challenge ! Here’s to living the best year academically because this bitch sure as hell will make it so.Â
Trying to be a polyglot is all fun and games until you suddenly can’t speak your own language anymore.

   3. Get your shit together because holy fuck school is in less than two weeks when did that happen:
Habits to start
How to be prepared
Backpack essentialsÂ
Get ahead on school sis
My advice: School is here. Accept it. You’re gonna be fine <3
Tips For People Who Hate But Have To Read
We’ve all been there, a book on one hand and zero will to read it on the other. Here’s what worked for me.Â
AUDIO BOOKS HELP SO MUCH. I can’t stress this enough. It’s like being told a story and nothing like going through lines you have no interest in.
For people who just want it done as soon as possible:
Choose free days / Clear out your schedule.
Alternate between audio and self reading so as not to get bored.
Get a general idea about the book / story / characters / general message before you start reading
Self control: You should have specific and realistic rules for yourself. For example, I would allow myself to have a long break after every 3 chapters, but no social media to distract me while reading.
Compete with your friends about who reads the most.
Highlight / Take notes as you go. Also, please do yourself a favor and don’t highlight every other sentence.
Have a 5 minutes break whenever you feel yourself drifting to sleep and start MOVING.
Write a summary at the end of every day of reading.
Look up summaries / analysis online and compare it with what you wrote.
Touch up on your final summary and add notes if needed.Â
For people who don’t want to rush it and want to spend as little time on it as possible:
Divide your book into small but still reasonable chunks.
Summarize what you read at the end of every reading session.
Drink some tea / coffee before reading.
Dance to your favorite song before you start reading.
Get a general idea about the book / story / characters / general message before you start reading.
Compete with your friends about who reads the most.
Give your phone / laptop to your friend or parent and tell them not give them back until you show them your summary.
If you need your laptop or phone for the audio, use site blockers to avoid distractions. Â
If you feel like you’re getting sleepy, move around but don’t take the break time out of the reading time.
Treat yourself after every reading session.
Make time for taking notes / reading through them and look up summaries / analysis online to compare and get the most out of your reading.
WHY WAKING UP EARLY MAY NOT BE FOR YOU (If you’re a night owl)
Following the footsteps of many of the wildly successful CEOs, I woke up at 4 am almost everyday. Here’s why that may have been a waste of time.
From now on, no matter how much anyone tries to tell me otherwise, becoming an early riser might just destroy your productivity. I had to learn that the hard way.
A big misconception I had going into this challenge was that waking up early was the equivalent of being productive. Spoiler alert: it’s not. Â
I felt more at ease working at night. Being a night owl myself, studying at night is a no brainer.  My motivation is driven by the healthy competition with my peers to whom I talk to during the day. I also noticed that seeing others being productive (IRL) pushed me to be so as well. Waking up early (especially since we’re still on vacation) crushed this aspect of my work as I had zero contact with others in the early morning. By the time I would do so, it was already 8pm and I had to sleep in two hours in order to wake up early. Â
Would I do this again? Not really, but I’ll definitely wake up before noon. Getting  up at a crazy hour in the morning just isn’t for me BUT there are many, many and MANY people for whom this worked out GREAT. Â
However, if you do want to try out this challenge, here’s what I suggest:
    -  Start gradually: If you usually wake up at 11am and your aim is 6 am, maybe start an hour earlier as you go (10am, then 9 am …).
     -   Plan your “me time” / Start a morning routine: This doesn’t only make you a little more motivated to wake up, but it also saves you a lot of planning time in the morning. Don’t go overboard,  an hour (2 at most) should be enough to get you pumped up and to put you in a good productive mode.
      -  To really test the efficiency of this challenge, take notes of what you do every day and see whether or not most of your work is done before sunset.
      -  Don’t get bummed if this isn’t working for you. Not waking up early doesn’t mean you won’t be successful. It’s better to get your work done and feel comfortable than to be under the illusion of hustling while also tormenting yourself.
Waking Up Early For a Week: DAY 7
Starting the last day with a bang, I woke up really early! However, I didn’t get much done.. I only studied a bit of Turkish on Duolingo and that’s it :(Â
But this is done and honestly I’m kinda happy I don’t have to wake up this early anymore!!!!!!!!
Waking Up Early For a Week: DAY 6
This was a very good day. I was quite energetic and I got so much work done. I summarized two chapters, studied a little Turkish and I am now reading some of my book ( anyone has an effective way to read and remember what you just read?). The motivation is slowly coming in and I am here for it!Â
Watch me bring up my A game and conquer the world. My mathematic books aren’t ready for this. Just saying.
(In case you were wondering, I DID wake up early yay me)
The challenge has almost come to an end, and I can’t wait to share with you the things that this experience has taught me!
