Young Love (Teens Consider This)
I had a really cool conversation with the coolest, funniest, brightest, most beautiful person on the universe, my sister Jamey. We were talking about young love and what happens when kids quote unquote "go together" and that would require a wide brush to cover because
Kids to day are advance, super intelligent and faster than a speeding bullet...
Not that we are judging any particular generation or anything but more along the lines of hearing stories that are troublesome...
No, I'm lying, the scare the podookie ouuta us!!!
Well anyway, we wondered what a relationship at a tender age is for and here is what we gathered
someone to super confide in
someone in my corner on my side
sending a message hey I'm special and so and so proves it
curiosity and or discovery
a longing to solidify, define or shape
Here's the thing; girls are emotional, much more than the guys and at such a young age commitment is not necessarily the best idea, it opens the door to the "suddenly's" and the likely "too soons" We attribute this to
far too much free time, boredom,
lack of companionship in the home,
not enough conversation and time spend with the family,
the emptiness of not channeling his or her special
poor examples of relationship in the immediate family
no structure and scoped plans for them
Now, while it is normal to have a crush, to have "real" feelings, to have desires, we as parents can take the pressure off to steer the thought of out of the range of the dire thirst for. Having a boyfriend or girlfriend can be better managed with parental engagement, involvement and guidance. These teens (prayerful teens) May have limited ideas on how to spend time and what to discuss for their personal development as individuals and as a pair in courting.
Healthy discussion projects for young loves:
Discuss one another's talents and options to develop, channel and display
Discuss one another's scholastic aptitude current, goals, ways to strengthen etc.
Discuss college goals, dreams, desires
Find out what classes he/she likes/dislikes and why
Discuss image, fashion, what's appropriate for various settings events
Discuss health, healing, illnesses, exams, check ups, dental visits, vision etc
Discuss fears, esteem, dreams while sleeping, during the day otherwise
Discuss great mentors, identify mentors, idols, icons and the such
Discuss, sports, entertainment, politics
Do you get this...things that way develop the mind of your interest and give you an idea if he/she if basking in the empties or a person of substance. You can help build one another up by taking classes outside of school in safe environments that don't put the pressure on the pitfalls of the "suddenly's" and perhaps "too soon's"
There is a life time ahead of you and it is important that you get to know yourself as or before you concern yourself with someone that may not have a clue who they are while experimenting with your life, body, mind and spirit.
