a sort of survivor's bias of literature causes a lot of people to believe that novels "used to" be of higher quality, greater originality, greater 'effort', greater literary-ness, greater inspiration, &c., than they are to-day

and it's like, well, that is because you're pitting a book published 150 years ago that people still talk about and read to-day, against your average aeroport written-to-spec romance that probably will not be being discussed 150 years from now. if you read the mass-market Grub Street hetslop of the Victorian era I promise you would not like it.

Im going to try my darnest to do 100 days of productivity because theorically, if i manage it, that would make my semester since that's about the time I have left until Christmas break and finals. So here we go. The first time-lapse is kind of short, since i did 2h of studying this day (and also it's a ypt time-lapse so it's generally shorter)

I never actually started using this blog productively as a studyblr, but now I'm going to. Im going to commit to.posting at least 1 study time-lapse per day, meaning I'm forced to study at least enough to.make one, because I fucking need something to keep.me going before I crash out lol

Im officially at the point in my university career that I'm too tired to do a damn thing, surviving the semester on pure spite at this point. The thing keeping me going is that I'm so closed to finishing this damn degree

Took me until about halfway through college before I realized “study” means “play with the material in a variety of ways until you understand it” and not just “read the assigned chapters and do the homework” and I think that probably should have been discussed at some point prior to that.

So… not only was there a RPF poll here on tumblr.com. But there was a RPF poll where the two old-era giga fandoms that made this website (Dan and Phil & Supernatural) went head to head with Phan vs. a RPF ship that surprisingly wasn’t Jensen Ackles/Misha Collins, but rather Jensen Ackles/Jared Padalecki, a pairing which then went on to beat McLennon for 3rd place, therefore invigorating the McLennons to vote for Phan in the final round out of solidarity. Only then for Phan to start losing to JEDUS with a genuine in-notes 2013-era argument about the problematic nature of RPF shipping and angry J2 fans voting against Phan in their solidarity. AND THEN — Phil Lester (king of RPF) in the final day, comes out swinging with a reblog that gives Phan the edge to win, prompting Dan Howell to then reblog as well in celebration. And all of this ends on the 15th anniversary of Dan’s Uma Thurman tweet. Tumblr, never change.

I'm allowed to like journaling even if my hand tremors make it so I can't do something as "pretty" as an abled bodied person

I'm allowed to like crocheting even if it's bad for my joints and it takes me double the time it would take someone else to finish a project

and yes I'm trying to switch to knitting which is lighter on the hands, but even that - even fucking using my phone - makes my finger hurts

I'm allowed to complain about it, just like you - specially if you're abled - are not allowed to tell me off about it

it's so hard for us to find joy, you're not allowed to police the small things that help

Something I want able bodied people to understand is that I don't want a diagnosis cause I wanna be sick so bad; I want a diagnosis because there is already something wrong with my body but I don't know what the fuck it is.

Some people don’t want to hear this but sometimes accessibility is not sustainable or eco-friendly. Disabled people sometimes need straws, or pre-made meals in plastic containers, or single-use items. Just because you can work with your foods in their least processed and packaged form doesn’t mean everyone else can.
