RogueOne!Cassian and Andor!Cassian are two completely diffrent people. And I fear that RogueOne!Cassian is simply more interesting and generally better. Their facial expressions (resting) are diffrent - Andor!Cassian always looks like a mixed of confused and just pathetic, while RogueOne!Cassian looks colder and more calculating, he also holds himself diffrent, straighter and surer. Their backstories are different, too. And whatever RogueOne!Cassian's backstory was sounds better as well

Years after Endor, Jyn and Cassian are trying to find their place in the galaxy. After working for the New Republic for a while, they decided to get a ship and travel through the galaxy until they found a beautiful planet on the outer rim where they built a house.

They’re not used to staying on the same place for a long time but they’re trying to rest. They have each other and now they can finally live in peace and not only survive, having time to do things they couldn’t afford before.

Spending their time in their new house and working with repairing droids, they find a new rhythm in their lives (K2 is also there to “make sure they don’t do anything stupid”). It’s not perfect, after all they’re two people who have been through so much, but being together means they’ll always be home no matter where they go.

the deleted dialogue where padme says she was so young when she went to the naboo capital, she hadn’t seen a waterfall before, does fuck me up. it paints a picture of her pre-queen upbringing as maybe a little more similar to anakin’s, in some remote, dry place. because it’s deleted dialogue i can just spiral forever

It's weird now to remember how much goodwill I extended to the Maya Pei Brigade stuff at the time. In retrospect it feels like that would've been a good moment to have Cassian do a morally grey thing, take charge for the sake of the mission or something upon those lines, but instead it starts this pattern of him not really taking part in any compromising conflicts or decisions while everyone else is getting compromised or making mistakes.
