Hell yeah CLRG!
One thing I think gets overlooked is that Lorelai and Rory's relationship isn't just close, it's emotionally enmeshed and emotional parentification.
While Lorelai genuinely loves Rory and sacrifice a great deal for her, love alone doesn't erase their unhealthy dynamics. Their relationship frequently crosses the line from parent-child into where Rory is expected to function as Lorelai's emotional equal and at times, her emotional caretaker. That a lot to put on your child.
To be clear, emotional incest (also called covert incest) is not sexual abuse because in the show Lorelai never crosses that line. It refers to a parent relying on their child to meet emotional needs that should be met by other adults not by a kid. The kid becomes a confidant, therapist, or emotional partner in ways that blur healthy boundaries.
Lorelai repeatedly describes Rory as her best friend before her daughter. That why Rory get so confused when Lorelai tend to act sometimes like a friend or like a parent and she decides when she chose to act like a friend or like a mother confusing poor Rory at times. There's nothing inherently wrong with being close to your child but Lorelai often treats Rory like a peer instead of someone she should be protecting from adult burdens. Rory is included in conversations about Lorelai's romantic relationships, listen to intimate details about her father, Max, her teacher, Jason and even Luke, and is often the person Lorelai turns to for comfort and reassure when things fall apart. Those are emotional responsibilities that belong with other adults, not with her child.
One of the clearest examples is Christopher, Rory's dad, whenever Rory wanted to spend more time with her father, Lorelai's feelings frequently become part of the equation. Rather than simply encouraging Rory to build a relationship with Christopher, she sometimes reacted with hurt or jealousy, making Rory feel lile she has to manage her mother's emotions while also trying to have a relationship with her dad. A child should never feel responsible for protecting a parent's feelings. It should be the other way around.
This pattern continue throughout the showm Rory constantly comforts Lorelai after breakups, reassures her during conflict and often find herself mediating disputes between Lorelai and other adults including her grandparents, her father, and Luke. Instead of being shielded from afult problems, Rory is regularly pulled into them. She learns to monitor Lorelai's emotions and adjust her own behavior accordingly which is a classic sign of emotional parentification.
She also struggles whenever Rory begin forming close relationships outside of their bubble. Whether Rory is growing closer to her grandparents or becoming more independent, she fear losing their unique bond sometimes place emotional pressure on Rory. Rather than allowing her to separate naturally, Lorelai's reactions can make Rory feel guilty for growing up.
None of this means she is a villain or that's she didn't love Rory. In many ways, she was trying to give Rory the opposite of the emotionally distant upbringing she experienced with her parents. But in overcorrecting, she often created a different kind of unhealthy dynamic, one built on blurred boundaries rather than healthy ones.
That what makes her character such a interesting and well-written character. She isn't abusive in the obvious ways her parents were. Instead, her unresolved trauma often leads her to lean on Rory emotionally in ways that no child should have to carry and I say this with experience since my mom would do this to me too.
Their relationship is heartfelt and loving (just like mine is with my mom, who despite everything I would still picked her again as my mom if I could) but it is also a textbook example of emotional enmeshment and parentification, where a daughter becomes far more than just a daughter.
yeah
teamwork makes the dream work. and dreamwork. makes shrek
fantastic. i love it. i posted this after my wife said it yesterday and as i was doing it i was like "this can't be an original thought. as soon as i hit post someone's going to say 'you stole this from a tweet from 2014' and i'll say 'no, i stole it from my beautiful wife.'"

Woah. They weren’t kidding organisms will perceive and react to stimulus.
I love that Dungeon Meshi's creator is like "I based Senshi off this old dude in our building that won't stop doing his laundry in his underwear, he's weird."
And tumblr (justifiably) wants him carnally.
remember like an actual decade ago, there was a post giving advice for what to do if The Heterosexuals asked for your celebrity crush, and the advice was to just say "chris" and let them guess which chris and then just agree
and as your local ace i understand why such advice is appealing because i have been 13 and feeling a rising panic that i would answer "wrong" and bad things would happen. however as an adult i now understand that most people asking this are just asking you a question on par with asking what movies/music/whatever you like. they're not testing you, and if you give a fake answer, you're going to end up fielding follow-up questions or being sent memes or whatever, because they're trying to engage with your answers. just say a celebrity that you actually like (regardless of if you find them attractive or have a "crush"), or if you don't have one, say you don't pay attention to celebrities
anyway, i went out to drinks with people i didn't know that well, got asked that question, and said i wanted to study robert pattinson like a bug. now i get sent weird photos of him
senshi would win in a cooking minigame
