So... what if Scully was actually an alien disguised as a human, sent by her people to Earth to make sure Mulder never discovered the existence of her planet, and she keeps sabotaging all his plans and wrecking his evidence, but feels bad about it because she's rapidly beginning to like him.

Meanwhile Mulder is like 70% sure she's an alien this entire time, and is stalking her everywhere and hiding in the bushes outside her window all the time just waiting for her to drop the hologram filter and suddenly turn green or something, but months go by and he doesn't find anything.

And then like a year later he does find something that basically confirms it, but decides not to say anything because by this point he's madly in love with her, so he just keeps alluding to the fact that she might possibly be from another planet and glancing over meaningfully in the hopes that she'll tell him herself.

And then he's severely injured (idk, poison?) and she has to take him back to her ship for treatment via alien technology, and the whole time she's freaking out because she thinks he hates her now for like, invading his planet, pretending to be human, literally alien abducting him etc., and she's like frantically apologizing and trying to explain and meanwhile he's whacked out on poison aftereffects and alien painkillers, and isn't paying attention to a word of it in favour of gazing lovingly (and a bit cross-eyes) up at her thinking about how pretty she is.

Anyway just an idea. That has been infecting my brain like one of those stupid iceworms for like two months now.

One thing I love about the new show is bens character as a whole, but especially how he acts, he had to learn how to be human again from movies, and it shows, he acts less like everyone around him but more like someone playing the character of a sleezy detective, sure he quite literally is that, but it's almost cartoonishly obvious just by the way he talks, he can probably reference movies with ease, he's clearly mesmerized things from said movies, he also plays characters and is able to put on another persona on quickly, he's been a plumber, A soidler, A patient.

i am convinced he just got really hyperfixated on film during that year of trying to act more human. C'mon man. Love this guy

A Day in the Life of the Brigadier

1 AM) Awoken by emergency call from Benton, commute to UNIT HQ to deal with issue of giant bats eating Londoners off the street. 2 AM) Argue with Doctor, who insists bats “can be reasoned with.” Leave UNIT HQ alongside UNIT squadron to resolve situation. 3 AM) Discover bats multiply threefold when struck by bullets. Doctor & Miss Grant arrive, despite being told to remain at the base, and implement sonic device which shrinks bats to normal size.

4 AM) Spend hour on telephone reassuring local government. 5 AM) Return home, manage two hours uninterrupted sleep. 7 AM) Commute to UNIT HQ delayed by moderate-size magma river. Helicopter en route for air transport to base.

9 AM) Discover magma was in fact a sentient organism. Doctor was able to lure organism into his ship for transport back to Titan by offering large quantities of boric acid. 10 AM) Supervise repair of local road post-incident, assist with traffic control, discuss situation with press.

12 PM) Conduct inspection of extraterrestrial studies laboratory, run series of combat drills on back field. 2 PM) Smoke alarm set off in Doctor’s lab, fire management team called. 3 PM) Informed of possible security breach within UNIT, junior agent Masterson assigned to investigate possibility of sabotage.

4 PM) Control room locked with no explanation, doors electrified, power lost throughout the base, majority of UNIT agents are stumbling around repeating "must obey, must obey”. Currently hiding in janitorial cupboard alongside Doctor & Miss Grant.

5 PM) Specialized vapour released into ventilation by Doctor. UNIT agents freed from hypnosis. Junior agent Masterson has disappeared. 6 PM) Spend hour on telephone reporting to upper management. 7 PM) Smoke alarm set off in Doctor’s lab, fire management team called.8 PM) Return home, go to sleep.

"LMAO Fourth Doctor hates the Master" Four's whole character is acting childish and rude because he's actually sensitive and wants to be loving but can't handle confrontation. He's just been forced back to his home planet, an incredibly traumatic place and sees his best friend in the entire universe painfully ROTTING ALIVE. Ofc he's a bit standoffish, of course he's trying to act like he doesn't care because that's what the Doctor (especially this version, but you can make an argument every Doctor pulls this) usually does in response to trauma, hides his incredibly damaged emotions, his fear and rage and sorrow. That's who he is!! It doesn't mean he doesn't care! That's what he wants you to think, that's what he wants to think!

Poor Four, yikes that would have been a traumatic sight. I honestly don't really see him hating the Master at all.

Now Fivey on the other hand...

In his defense, being murdered by someone might make you a little bit ticked off at them.

there are apparently some people who read watchmen as their first comic book and god that must be hell. after i finished it i cant read a cape comic without thinking "this isnt as good as watchmen". youre just setting yourself up for dissapointment.

Suggestion: Try the Starman comics by James Robinson. Different vibe (I'd label it as 'nostalgic optimism' as opposed to 'gritty realism'), but similar feeling of "man, this is really high-quality, deep, and emotion-provoking, even though it's just a comic!"
