Thursday Prompts: Journal Prompts
Thursday Prompts: Journal Prompts
I’m back after my bit of a break. I may not post as often as I had been as homeschooling uses a lot more time than I had intentioned and it has to be a priority. However, I still want to bring you some Thursday Prompts and other creative goodies. Today is prompts day and it’s time for some journal prompts.
When was the last time you were really happy about something, someone or just because?…

I went in yesterday for my six month post surgery follow-up appointment. I am now at 224lbs. I had wanted to be less but, I am still doing very well and the surgeon is really happy with my progress. In three months I go back in and he wants me down to 200lbs. My plan is to be at 200lbs by the end of December.
With all the weight I have lost, 75lbs post surgery, I have been a good friend of Goodwill so that I can get clothes as quickly as I am losing the weight. I can’t afford to buy new clothes each time. I found some great deals on their Columbus Day fifty percent off sale. But even the new stretch jeans I bought are already falling off of me. And my daughter almost didn’t recognize me from my profile when I picked her up from work one night because my face has changed so much. See the comparison below.
I traveled by plane to see a friend today and, not only did the seat belt fit, I had extra to tighten it with. Do you know how long that has been? Nearly over twenty years. Twenty years I have been carrying around extra weight and I had no idea it interfered in so much of my life. I have tried so many times and in so many ways to get healthier again and nothing worked. I have no regrets about doing the surgery. NONE. It is a lifesaver for me. By the time I hit the doctors goal weight for me, I will be at a weight I haven’t been since I was 20 years old. That is 24 YEARS!
What does this have to do with creativity, especially since I haven’t posted much lately? Well, I am sorry about not posting. Adjusting to homeschooling my son was a little more of a transition than I thought it would be but I am back on track now. However, re-creating yourself is one of the biggest acts of creativity that you can do. And that is what I have been doing this year. Not just arts and crafts and writing but re-creating who I am and becoming the person, I believe, I am meant to be. This is a great creative act. I encourage anyone out there that feels like they need a change to take on the challenge of re-creating those aspects of themselves they wish to change.
How have you changed in the last ten months? I began this journey in January, and now ten months is coming to a close and I have lost nearly a whole human being. I joined Toastmasters to be a public speaker and am writing more. I have made some big changes and some small ones. What about you? What could you change or grow on in the next two months before the year ends? I would love to hear what you think.
Talk to you in the comments below.

Tuesday: Taking a Little Fall Break
Tuesday: Taking a Little Fall Break
Good Morning, all! I am just popping on to say that for this week there will be a break from posting. I have posted daily for three months straight and with getting used to homeschooling my nine year old, I need a bit of a break to readjust. My schedule has changed dramatically with him home and I would like to get him settled over the next week. I will be back next week with some great fall…

This late Friday evening post, as I recover from my first week of charter school/homeschooling my nine year old son, is to share with you our Mission Statement.
This week has been a wild ride as I get used to a new…

Ten Minute Tuesday: Meditation
Ten Minute Tuesday: Meditation
I have been practicing a meditation every morning for the last month and it has been very helpful in getting my day started in the right direction. I find it helps me focus and I am able to get more creative work done once I have centered myself. This particular meditation is from Gabby Bernstein. She has several but so far this is one of my favorites because I can do it in about six minutes and…

How I Re-learned My Own Lesson
How I Re-learned My Own Lesson
This post is coming to you a bit late today. I started homeschooling my fourth grader through a charter school and today was our first day. Needless to say, all his lessons took longer than expected. But we got each lesson done. It is a different experience than with my previous homeschooling with a junior high and high school student. Their work was more independent. His is way more dependent on…
