Muzzles are just mouth chastity cages.

Hounds that always stay muzzled will be starved for feeling against their lips, tongue and teeth.

Feeding would be one of the only times a hound is allowed to experience feeling in and around their mouths, which would make eating out of a dog bowl all the more gratifying, regardless of the quality of the food.

Not to mention the ecstasy of being allowed to put it's lips and tongue to hard leather as it polishes Her boots, you have to imagine that would simply feel like heaven.

So obviously I'm a dog, but I also have dyslexia, specifically for spoken words.

A thing my bf has been doing for a while now is he'll say something, and then spell out words, sometimes a couple sometimes several words at a time. We'll be sitting in the drive thru and they'll turn and ask "Does my G-O-O-D D-O-G want a T-R-E-A-T?" Before getting me a milkshake, "Does my very V-E-R-Y C-U-T-E P-U-P-P-Y want to go on a W-A-L-K-I-E L-A-T-E-R?"

They love watching me fumble, to try make sense of so many words being spelled out at once, if I even can.

It's embarrassing not being able to understand, to panic slightly because they could have said anything. would I ever even disagree though?

Owner never repeats themselves of course, that would be too nice.

But then I look at them, My Owner has their eyes already on me, and the Warmest smile across his lips, glowing with care and adoration, but there's always something darker as well. The will to have me agree regardless of anything, to have me follow as Owner's pet, Owner's Dog. To obey. Because Owner knows what I like, Owner knows best.

Patiently waiting for my answer, knowing I'm going to say yes because I always want to be the Best Dog for My Owner.

Sometimes I just have to answer and hope that I'm not agreeing to anything too terrible.

yesterday i had a nice southern teenager call me "ma'am" and then look at me and go, in a well-meaning tone, "uhhhh, if you go by ma'am. sorry if not." and i had to be like yeah man ma'am is fine. appreciate you being inclusive though. i could almost see the little warning pop up in his UI-- hold up! people with blue hair often have pronouns. are you sure you want to address this individual with a gendered term?

Soo I've started reading warhound. Good book so far, I can definitely see how it would be disturbing to a normal person, with that being said, coincidentally my bf has started calling me his Stupid Mutt and asking if I'm his Good Dumb Dog, completely unprompted and it's doing something. Maybe good maybe bad but definitely something I crave the feeling of.

clicker training has become such a weirdly popular concept but I still want to see how long it takes a puppy to pick up on commands in a different language for a more authentic feel instead

then its more real too I mean dogs don't understand english they just aim to please until they get it right. so what if I want a boy whining and looking at me with that confused tilted head trying to act right? is that too much to ask

I once tried to explain depression to someone as like if one day you gradually started to lose both your sense of taste and your ability to feel full. And you don’t know why, but now everything you eat tastes like mashed potatoes and nothing you eat is satisfying. You keep eating because you must eat to live, but the effort that it takes to prepare food is taxing and there is no pay off. You just know it will taste like mashed potatoes. You just know you will still be hungry. So you stop bothering with seasonings. Then you stop bothering to use ingredients you used to like. Then you start to wonder what the point of eating is because there is no payoff. You still feel hungry and you’re sick of the taste and you don’t know if you will ever enjoy food again and you don’t know why this is happening.

If someone comes up to you in this scenario and says, “Well have you tried spicing your food? Using different ingredients? Eating foods you used to love?” It isn’t necessarily helpful because the reason you stopped doing all that in the first place is that everything…tasted…like mashed…potatoes.
