hi big fan... did you know some scorpionflies mate by having the male offer the female a "gift" of a dead prey item or a packet of nutrient-dense spittle? to that end, did you know some male scorpionflies who suck at hunting will imitate females to get other males to hunt for them?
hi my name isnt big fan its sylveon....
what a wonderful fact. theyre just like cats. i think. these two are not giving me any freaking gifts.
um uh gerard getting males to hunt for them is this anything
These days, lots of public libraries have a "library of things" collection where you can check out kitchen appliances or yard tools or toys, and, as a children's library assistant, the most popular library of things item that I handle regularly is a plastic scepter thingy called like "unicorn princess magic wand". And whenever I check it out I make a big show of looking at the little kid and being like "do you solemnly swear to use your unicorn princess magic powers only for good and never for evil?"
And pretty much without fail, the little kid will get the world's most mischievous grin and go "I'm gonna use it for EVIL!!!"

Happy "There Will Come Soft Rains" day to all who celebrate
I'm unexpectedly emotional at this because we made it. Ray Bradbury thought 2026 was a realistic time to set a post-apocalyptic story. He lived in a time where nuclear war was a threat everyone knew could happen. He thought 76 years into the future we could all be dead.
76 years later, we have new threats to our world a writer in the 50s wouldn't have even considered. And sure, our world has a lot of problems, and a lot of threats facing us. And now we're writing dystopias set in the 2100s and 2200s where everything's gone wrong and humanity is extinct or close to it.
But 76 years after Ray Bradbury wrote a story that imagined we'd all be dead by now, we're still here. And I think that's something special.
times they deem it appropriate to kill and resurrect MEV
travel purposes: when it would be easier in terms of paperwork to declare a deceased body than get a visa when traveling internationally
when they fall ill and resurrection is cheaper than the necessary medical treatment
the odd punishment— when those around MEV who don’t respond to their own punishment should misbehave
resurrection errors— when MEV returns with too much memory or previous character, they are immediately dismissed and resurrected to a more appropriate state (note— this is often a Code Gray and requires multiple staff members to hold them down before treatment is redone)
a member of the draagoshka elite has booked either the Black Parade or the MEV personally for a “full-experience” performance, in which they get to dispose of MEV themselves (these cases often result in a “total-ing” or complete write-off of this current iteration of MEV)
miscellaneous or research reasons—often cited by MOAT staff— elaboration is not required on paper, but approval from a supervisory authority is required for these situations
times they deem it appropriate to clone MEV
when the previous body is no longer capable (either due to prolonged decomposition or other damage— see above) of the day-to-day activities required of MEV (note that the kill and resurrect rules apply to all clones in perpetuity)
Album art by Diane and Leo Dillon, used in 1976 for Leonard Nimoy’s narration of Ray Bradbury’s The Martian Chronicles
Specifically, the recording included There Will Come Soft Rains, which this illustration is obviously for. And that story is set today, on August 4, 2026!

peace on planet earth :D ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
several months ago i essentially cured my anxiety spirals where i imagine what i would do if i encountered gerard. by coming up with a Plan. that plan? get so scared i throw up. this will diffuse the tension.
just threw up and was plagued by the thoughts of "my tits are only average sized, not nearly clothed enough, and if someone tried to hold my hand right now i would kill them" 😔
honestly the way this whole thing has invented extremely bizarre new insecurities for the esoteric dyke subset is making me scream
for a very small group of people the act of vomiting will now always be accompanied by the insistent fear that gerard way would not find it sufficiently titillating
you’re so right as always #nevergiveuphope #mychemicalromancesavedmylife
she’s a 10 but she runs a disturbing tumblr blog which makes her an 11
