Hmm I read through that one reblog to that Lwaxana post and yes Lwaxana has her flaws, and yes she shouldn’t have done all that, and yes that shouldn’t have been written as hilarious, and yes the franchise has issues with consent

But at the same time why is it always that when women characters are brought up by the fandom, someone inevitably shows up with a list of reason why ____ is the WORST CHARACTER EVER and you all should hate her and that she has zero redeeming qualities

Maybe it’s just a kneejerk reaction of mine, because growing up, the only 2 types of comments about the Trek ladies that seemed to exist were: 1)_____ is a bitch and I hate her because reasons and 2)____ is soooo hot and boobs!!!!!!(and other nsfw comments)

I’m not saying that the ladies shouldn’t have flaws, but after seeing years and years of people treating them as the worst person ever or a sex object, I’m just. Tired.
