Ëol, the Dark Elf, the master and landlord of Nan Elmoth forest, the creator of Galwórn metal, husband to Aredhel Ar-Feiniel, father to Lomión Máeglin.

Definitely one of those chars I love the most in Silmarillion. He's no good in what he did in «Of Maeglin» chapter, sure. Would it make me stop loving him? Haha, naaah...

I find it subtly hilarious though that Ëol and the three Cs knew about eachother via the Dwarves. and that Ëol was doing his best to turn the Dwarves against the Noldor (and were the Fëanorians doing the same to him? I don't think we're told they were but I wouldn't be surprised.)

...it's not like he'd have to try very hard to paint them in a negative light. The truth itself is damning enough — although I have an inkling the Dwarves might be inclined to dismiss it with "Oh, everybody does a little murder honor-mandated warfare now and then. And then a few centuries later you're best friends and go murder war against someone else. Happens."
