Please do not take this the wrong way but! Why are you making Keith and lance trans? Ive seen this trop a lot and i dont understand why. I do understand wanting characters to be queer ( like pidge being gender fluid) but in my head they aren't really trans coated in the show. I wonder how you came to this head cannon and what pushed you to put it in your story?

Howdy! We're making Keith and Lance trans not because they were coded that way, but mostly for fun?
Keith was made trans because Sol heavily relates to him and loves to project onto the guy. Keith's issues with identity also go very nicely with being transgender as a story arc and character moment. Fun fact about the rewrite: Keith came out shortly after starting at the Garrison.
Lance is trans for almost the opposite reason. Our dear friend Zak loves the trans!Lance headcanon, and it's nice to have representation that... doesn't really affect a character arc that much. Another fun fact! Lance is one of the rare trans folk who came out when he was very very young
There wasn't a lot of thought into the creations or inclusions of the headcanons, just... vibes and fun!
