My number second favourite WaT moment was when Szeth threw the spoon at 12124

My FAVOURITE moment is when Kaladin waves a spoon at 12124 later and that is the moment 12124 decides to skiddadle out of Kaladin’s sight

Another absolutely amazing thing from Wind and truth: Sigzil meeting 12124. Well, now I guess it's safe to call him Auxiliary. Not gonna lie, I didn't like 12124 until nearly the very end of this book, but I really loved Aux when I read The sunlit man. There had been some character development by them. I can only think about how these two poor guys are going to suffer in the future🥺. Sigzil already needs a break and he won't have one in centuries. Again, this makes the whole Kaladin "dying" situation a lot worse, because he's leaving without knowing the truth. Hopefully Hoid will give him an update once they all find out, but it's Hoid we're talking about, so I don't really know.

I read the Sunlit Man before reading WaT and realized that 12124 is Auxiliary. I feel so bad for that poor spren.

Stormlight headcanon: A highspren's name is always their parent's name with one more digit appended, with the extra digit counting up as the number of siblings increases. The original ones the gods created got 1-digit names. Or maybe instead of parentage it denotes their hierarchy, who's in charge of who, given that they kind of seem to be spren of hierarchy or something. Thus 121 is either 12124's grandparent or their boss's boss.

My only evidence for this is that of the two highspren names in Wind and Truth, one is a prefix of the other, both having an excess of small digits, and we know the names aren't just assigned consecutively. The level of offence Syl and 12124 took at the suggestion that the names were just consecutive is admittedly weak contrary evidence though, as that suggests it's not likely to be anything similar to that either.

I’m glad the highspren also signed up for a therapy session with Kaladin, but because it was right after Szeth left and Kaladin was still trying out the word “therapy,” I had the mental image of him one day in the future doing the Sokka thing:

Then there was learning the highspren’s name: 12124.

And while Syl is tut-tutting Kaladin’s social faux pas, I’m saying the numbers in my head like Valjean’s number in Les Mis: “One two one two fooooour.”

And then I remembered that I nicknamed Nale as Javert.
