#bart allen#mochi speaks#for the last time on this stupid argument#tell me this ain’t half the dc fandom in a nutshell#dc comics#ending it on a meme I can’t anymore#key notes#1.#impulse is not and never will be a ‘hand me down’ legacy like The Flash name is#it just does not fit any one else but him#not Irey not jai or ace or any other flash fam of the younger generation#2.#Bart was not at his worst when he was impulse. he was learning. please read mercury falling or the future with Carol and meloni story line#or the young justice/ impulse issues after his scout died on apakolips planet or even when bedlam captured him#and even if Bart did hand down impulse as a legacy.. what would he be after that then? can’t be KF that’s already done and we’ve established#being the flash for him is a 12 issue disaster#3.#Bart was not better as KF than he was as impulse. Bart grew at his own pace as impulse but as KF he forced it in a year and a half#as a trauma response#that. is. not. good. and it certainly is not ‘growth’#half the themes of dc comics is exploring the effects of raising child soldiers (is it done well? arguable across many different comics and#characters) but that moment of switching to KF as a forced ‘maturity’ is one of those moments of the BAD effects that can happen after#pain and trauma beyond measure and without support#he did not change himself because he thought himself as impulse was ‘bad’ it was because everyone around him made him feel like he was#‘behind’ them including Wally the previous Kid Flash. I cannot understand how you could read Wally being a douche to Bart and then accepting#a couple chapters later that Bart would want to be the previous persona of the guy who constantly puts him down#as a growth moment?#Geoff did not write that well at all. again he only did it because he wanted a nostalgic name in the teen titans brand#and this was his superficial way of doing it#I’m done now read my other posts on this for more argument lines
