Books At the Top of My 2019 TBR
Hello readers, Happy 2019! My first post of the new year is going to be all about the books on my TBR that I want to get to ASAP. Also known as the “why haven’t I read these yet?” books!
My goal is to finish these 15 books before the end of 2019. Seems easy enough, but there’s a lot of new releases I want to get to as well, so wish me luck, lol. Here’s a list of the books (alphabetically because I love organization) with a little explanation as to why it’s a priority for me!
Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld — I was supposed to buddy read this with my best friend in 2018, but we both got too busy.
The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco — @shadowtearling has raved about this book so much, how could I not want to pick it up?? Also the cover is gorgeous, we need more purple covers in literature.
Caraval by Stephanie Garber — Another possible buddy read option? Also I just love the idea of circus books.
Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi — I had my bf buy me this, but then I never picked it up?? I feel like I need to get to it so that his money doesn’t feel wasted, lol.
Circe by Madeline Miller — Greek Mythology. ‘Nough said.
Four Weeks, Five People by Jennifer Yu — I. Bought. This. For. Myself. And then didn’t read it even though I was looking forward to it?? I confuse myself sometimes.
A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab — Loved the first book, need to continue with the series.
The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert — This sounds like my kind of book and has received some mixed reviews so I want to see where I stand.
Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas — It’s the final book!!!! (Yes, I like this series, and yes, I acknowledge that it has quite a few issues, but hey, read what you like, right?)
Queen of Hearts by Colleen Oakes — Retellings are one of my favorite things to read and Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite stories.
Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb — The first book was great. I convinced my bf to read it and he’s continued on with the series and has since not stopped telling me to pick up the rest of the books.
The Song Rising by Samantha Shannon — Just a sequel I want to check off my list.
Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor — OMG! I started listening to the audiobook for this last year, but the writing was so beautiful I knew I needed to wait until I could read a physical copy.
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw — It’s about witches. That’s all I really need to know to want to read it.
The Young Elites by Marie Lu — One of my backlist books. It needs to happen.
