Matthew 25

The Parable of the Ten Virgins

In this Parable the Lord is instructing each of us what it means to be ready for His return and how we should live until He comes again. No one knows the exact date and time when the Lord will come again but He gave us signs and instructions that we should be prepared while waiting. I know that these parable could have a lot of interpretations but today this is what the Lord impress in my heart.

No one is truly responsible on keeping our spiritual condition strong, right and steady but us. All of the efforts our leaders and pastors to pray for us, to teach and train us will make no sense if we will not put everything into action. Our own personal relationship with God is the most important of all that we should really guard and prepare. As a true follower of Christ we should always keep ourselves connected and yielded to the Lord and grounded by His word because that will be the OIL of our lamp. How can we shine so bright if we didn’t really prepare for it? Imagine how do you want to be found doing when the Lord comes?

When He returns:

May He found us patiently waiting for His return (Psalms 130:5-6)

May He found us continually working out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12)

May He found us steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord (1 Corinthians 15:58)

May He found us  always in rejoice always, praying continually and giving thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

May He found us with mission accomplished and faithful in Him (Matthew 25:21)

May He found us on Fire (Romans 12:11-13)

Matthew 25:5 When the bridegroom was delayed a long time, they all became drowsy and fell asleep.

Waiting is hard because we are impatient by nature. Jesus tells us ahead of time there is going to be a delay between the comings that’s why we should not be moved no matter what and just keep ourselves ready and watchful. Let us not take each day for granted and always treat it as if it will be the last and best day we will have. May we keep our hearts and eyes fixed to the Lord while waiting because the enemy will do whatever it takes to shift our focus away to our mission.

When Jesus returns to take his people to heaven, we must be prepared. Spiritual preparation cannot be bought or borrowed at the last minute. Our relationship with God must always be our top priority and must be our own responsibility.

Prayer:

Lord I know that you will return soon. As I wait please keep on reminding me to be watchful and prepared. Take me deeper into your presence where I will find my assurance and security everyday. Keep the fire in my heart burning and may Your light continue to shine in my life. My heart is yearning to meet you soon my King and my Father. In Jesus Name this I pray, Amen.
