#JackedKirby - Flashback to an In Store Meeting with The King of Comics!!! 💥💥💥 I saw this pic posted over in the Jack Kirby! Facebook group by Jose Luis Moral and I was mesmerized by the magic of it. In the pic you see a young man looking down at Kirby’s table, having a convo with the King himself. And behind Jack we see his loving wife Roz. It has to be from 81/82 because you can see various Pacific Comics titles in the background on the shelves!!! 💥💥💥 The thing that stood out to me was the portfolio book towards the bottom of the pic that has a large splash page on display (closeup is pic 2). The character on display here is Stuntman, the 1946 Simon and Kirby creation for Harvey Comics. The page was part of Kirby’s Masterworks portfolio from 1978 and can be seen in its pencil form in pic 3 of this post... absolutely gorgeous!!! 💥💥💥 It was a lot of fun reverse searching the elements of this picture to figure out what that page was. It caught my eye immediately and I wasn’t sure what it was... but I’m glad I figured it out. I would LOVE to get my hands on one of those 1978 portfolios. Someday... one cool piece of trivia about Stuntman: it featured a couple of characters with very alliterative names Don Daring and Sandra Sylvan. I thought Stan was the genius writer who came up with those awesome alliterative names for Marvel??? 🤔🤔🤔 Weird....
