Unveiling the cosmos
DND Character Concept
An eccentric Tabaxi Wizard who makes a living studying and selling ancient magical artifacts - nothing unusual, except the strange sheen of golden spots on his snowy fur, and the lingering questions. Why does he know so much about ancient magical objects and customs, and yet so little about practical, modern magic?
Over the course of the adventure the party starts being targeted by a mysterious cult, one that seems to have the Wizard especially terrified. When he first hears rumours of them poking around the town they're in, he insists they take off to continue their travels as soon as possible. The party grows more suspicious as he hides his face in any confrontation with them, avoids casting magic or speaking of they're anywhere nearby, even in battle.
Eventually, their relentless pursuit and his paranoia culminate in the reveal - he's not an ex member, or their victim - he was their false idol.
The mortal body is nothing but an outer shell, a vessel in which the cult managed to trap an ancient, powerful magical entity. They stripped him of autonomy over his powers, locking them behind intricate magical rituals only they know how to perform. They presented those rites and ceremonies as "prayers" and used his magic to convince followers that their sacrifices and worship was making their wishes come true, performing "miracles" by tapping into the magical energy of the entity against his will.
After his escape, he remains near powerless - his magical energy is still within him, but he'd only ever harnessed it intuitively, inherently. With the channels blocked, the only way he can access even the smallest residual bits of it is to study as a Wizard from scratch, and to use artifacts - many of them sourced from his home realm - to supplement his powers.

Argyth's Arcane Companion
Argyth's Arcane Companion is now available over on itch for $3
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE
Before the 14th of next month, for only $14, you can get 14 TTRPGs and homebrew products (including Argyth's Arcane Companion and BXLLET, a small TTRPG I've heard some great things about that's usually $10), with all the money going towards helping pay off @psychhound's top surgery debts
Argyth's Arcane Companion includes:
4 New Wizard subclasses
School of the Beast. A school created through a coalition of wizards and druids, allowing you to become a fireball slinging frog.
School of the Blade. As Eldritch Knights bring magic to their martial abilities, so those of this school bring swordplay to their spellcraft.
School of Diabolism. Taught by otherworldly creatures, those of this school enhance their magical studies with gifts from otherworldly entities.
School of Summoning. (Which you can see in the preview) Created by a group of conjurers, this school focuses on summoning creatures to fight alongside, and enhancing these summons.
3 New Feats
Blademage. Meld magic and metal, spending spell slots on smites, and getting even more use out of melee cantrips
Mage Slayer (Revised). Train specifically to take down spellcasters, gaining advantage against spells and interrupting casting, stopping spells before they're cast.
Summoning Initiate. Dabble in summoning magics, and treat your summons as familiars, letting you see though their eyes.
And also includes 17 spells (5 of my own bladetrips, and 12 summoning spells, all included under creative commons)
So what're you waiting for, go pick up the bundle now!
Here's my first wizard subclass, and it's a big one! My aim with this school was to provide players with a way to use runic magic that was more historically accurate than it is in D&D's lore, so I sat down and did a lot of research about what magic runes actually were. The history of runic magic is really interesting, so I even included some of my research in the subclass description for you guys (although unless you're a big old nerd like me you're not obligated to read it). Based on my research, I managed to create options for thirteen somewhat-accurate magic runes.
Practitioners of rune cutting can create a number of different runes every day, although their usefulness may be limited without some creative thinking. If you're looking for ways to bolster your spells and deal more damage, this isn't the school for you- however, for those who enjoy solving problems and supporting their allies, it is ideal. It would also be a great choice for a wizard character with some Nordic flare, since all of these runes have their roots in Scandinavian or Icelandic history.
If you want the high quality PDF version of this subclass or would like to support me, please consider hopping on over to my patreon and checking out my other stuff.
Wizard Arcane Traditions Part 1
Hey! I’m officially caught up again. More importantly here are the first half the Wizard Arcane Traditions. I know. I know... ‘First half? Are you rippin’ me off ya damn flail snail.’ No! Of course not, I’ll have you know the trail of a flail snail is always worth your while!
We split ‘em up into two because there are so many Traditions! We’ve also included the traditions of Wildemout, this half includes Chronurgy, the other half includes Graviturgy. These are really neat additions to the game. I’d say the main issue with wizard is the fact that there are so many distinct Traditions that are fun. So... realistically unless you’re playing a lot of D&D, you prolly won’t get a chance to play em all. That being said, lemme know if you get the chance, or at least let me know your favorite!
All right. I’ll be back for our next release, mayhaps I’ll ramble, rant, or bring news for those of you who frequent our posts.

Big thanks to @leidensygdom and the folks who help these events run smoothly, they are always so much fun to partake in!
