Pilates core work!
Dolphin Push-ups are an old favorite of mine for building arm, shoulder and core strength. A few years ago I used to do them daily to build forearm strength so that my wrists wouldn't hurt from being on my hands so much. Luckily one of my students reminded me of this, so you may see them woven into my classes this week listed below. Demo and cues for three variations of the side bend.
Although some of my students may think that I just make up crazy core exercises for fun, they're actually very effective for improving arm balances and inversions. Rocking back and forth from boat pose to crow not only strengthens your abs and arms but also helps you tune into which muscles to engage to hold your crow for perhaps a second longer than usual, and give you the ability to weave it more easily into your regular practice. ✨
