" i'm just tellin' you in advance, i'd probably expect to see a lot more of me. " she'll be thrilled, he's sure. what sister doesn't want their brother around, emptying the contents of their refrigerator like it's their own ? " lucas got a plant. " that should be enough of a reason. she'll get it, he's sure. but he keeps going. " named it and everything — psychotic behaviour if you ask me. but that's not the worst of it. " a pause. he cracks open a drink and takes a sip. " he asked me to co-parent it. a plant. a literal fucking plant. "
wait what happened with penumbra podcast? i dont listen to it currently but i used to
It's gonna be a bit long and I might get some details wrong as this happened around last September. Also please note: I haven't been keeping up with anything involving Penumbra Podcast and the people who worked on it since these events happened, nor listened to the podcast past S3, before these events, and everything I saw I saw through Twitter, where these events happened, and through videos on tik tok from the TPP community there. I'm white and a lot of other creators, ones more affected by this than me, have made more detailed videos about this on tik tok (I never check the TPP tag here but there most likely are more better posts about it on here too). Also I don't condemn this post being used as an excuse to harass the people involved cause I'm not about that. The best thing to do is just to stop listening and posting about Penumbra Podcast.
CW for racism, ablieism, and transphobia
wilbur said after that he was 80% sure but he couldnt get tested because covid + functional adult man so
and thats on ablism
Can we PLEASE ffs, STOP CALLING ALL PPL WITH NPD ABUSERS?? I personally dont have it, but I've met others who do, and they're all so fucking sweet, some of the kindest ppl I've met. Dont lump them in with abusers either, "abusers and narcissists" no, you're talking about abusers, it has NOTHING to do with a mental illness
It's just fucking annoying because SO MANY ppl with npd have literally told yall to stop and no one ever fucking listens to them??
I was abused by someone with bpd, and in tonsss of toxic relationships with ppl with depression, but I dont call it depression/bpd abuse or connect the toxicity/abuse to the disorder, because that's not what causes it at all.
If you want to learn more and see positivity and stuff go follow @npdsafe or at least look through the content on the acc, listen to them above me.
Quick reminder that saying you’re a “little adhd” is ableist! And actually really upsetting! That’s not how adhd works! And I’m tired of seeing people say that!
All this shit is pretty bold coming from somebody who straight up ships Zuko with Azula and uses the fucking "reee" shit that's super ableist?!?!? You don't have the place mf.
I know there’s already a lot of discussion on why plastic bans are incredibly ablist but I do want to take a moment and talk about the effect on diabetic- and more specifically insulin dependant- people.
It takes a ridiculous amount of single use plastic to treat this disability. For those of use with pumps, as far as I’m aware every pump takes some of plastic reservoir needed to hold the insulin, most pumps I know of require plastic tubing to transfer the insulin from pump to the body. It’s quite simply the best material for that purpose, but we also can’t just reuse those things. Insulin degrades the quality of plastic meaning the insulin itself slowly becomes diluted and less effective in tubing and reservoirs that’re overused, not to mention the plastic insertion parts that the body begins to reject and push out after a few days, those parts are also slowly degrading and you can’t reinsert them into the body. Not even to mention the fact that most of these things are placed in plastic containers for safety.
So then what about going off a pump? Well not to say anything bad about people without pumps- you’re incredibly powerful and I have a ton of respect for you and how much extra effort you put in- but pumps tend to be healthier and more natural, it can be paired with a cgm to monitor sugar levels constantly, they more closely mimic how an actual pancreas functions, and allow a lot more freedom in how we go about a lot of our lives, a failure is more casthorpic sure but a pump makes a huge difference to a ton of people including myself. But also, non pump users still have to consume a ton of plastic in order to manage their l diabetes, syringes are ussually plastic, those who use pens have needles with plastic casing, and both pump and non pump user will probably need plastic containers for test strips, plastic lancets for finger pricks, and plastic sharps containers so no one is hurt from the used material.
While there are ways to reduce the amount of plastic used in diabetic treatment, both for the health of diabetics, and for their safety and the safety of those disposing of the materials treatment leaves behind, using plastic in treating diabetes is incredibly important.
It doesn’t just stop at banning plastic straws and bags, all plastic bans hurts disabled people in so many ways that abled people can probably never fully understand.
