In Imaging class two weeks ago, we were given worksheets with checklists on them. We were asked to pair up and choose a software to review: either Lightroom or Adobe Bridge. Me and Kyle paired up and chose Lightroom as our software. This week we are reviewing Adobe Bridge as our software.
Import options - Download
On this software it is easy enough to import images from the camera they were shot on and the memory card they were saved on to. It is also easy enough to select any files and rename them. Also choosing where you want the files to go is just as easy. The programme also allows the user to save on to somewhere else such as a hard drive. Metadata can also be added.
This software was easy to be reviewed: select images, delete imported unwanted photos. Rating and filtering images was an easy and useful task. The metadata can be viewed and added. Surprisingly to us, you cannot rename more than one file at a time, we also discovered this with Lightroom. Luckily, you can add keywords and metadata to more than one file at a time. The user can also filter images using the metadata.
Optimise options - Optimise
This software has the option to crop images using aspect ratios. Adjusting tonal and colour controls was simply done. Viewing the histogram was just as easy. Reducing an images noise and sharpening the images was easy too. Retouching images on Adobe Bridge is not possible unfortunately. The user can add presets or filters and batch optimise too.
Exporting multiple files and changing the file sizes is easy to do. Also resizing images at the export stage can be done. Embedding colour profile cannot be one at the export stage. Also the user cannot export directly to a chosen website or social media account.
