Aftershocks feels like Wylan and Marya after she moves back into the Van Eck mansion. (In a way)

Sometimes she's the same person as she was 9 years ago, fully aware of what Jan did, where she is in time, who Wylan and Jesper is.

More often she's still stuck in her years at Saint Hilde, she still wants to be called Marya Van Eck, she thinks her husband is just at work. She asks Wylan if he has seen her son. ("My son, have you seen him? He looks like you but younger. He's only eight, do you know where he is? Is he with his father?")

"There's something missing Dan. It's like its tugging at me. I can almost see it." when it's not a good day and she's not sure what's going on but she knows SOMETHING. she knows she doesn't like Jan but not WHY, she knows that the red haired boy is special to her but she cant grasp WHY.

More specifically what lyrics makess me think of them:

"They've cleared you of my memory and many more as well, you may have wanted some of them but who can ever tell" -she can remember her son but only the child version of him. she can't remember any of the bad things jan did, but she also cant grasp that the 17 year old boy in front of her is her son. her son is just 8.

"You remind me of someone. How old are you?" Wylan. Wylan reminds her of Wylan.

"They've managed to get rid of me. I'm gone without a trace but sear the soul and leave scar no treatment can erase, they've cut away the cancer but forgot to fill the hole they moved me from your memory, I'm still there in your soul" just Wylan thinking about Marya
