Name: Alaskacephale gangloffi
Name Meaning: Alaskan Head
Classification: Dinosauria, Ornithischia, Genasauria, Neornithischia, Cerapoda, Marginocephalia, Pachycephalosauria, Pachycephalosauridae
Alaskacephale is a Chunkie from the Prince Creek Formation in Alaska, hence it’s name; in fact, it was one of the many Alaskan taxa that were originally thrown in with genera known from further South, that have seen been split out (specifically, it was thought to be Pachycephalosaurus). However, it was much smaller than Pachycephalosaurus; only about one meter in height and two meters in length. It lived about 80 to 69 million years ago, in the Campanian age of the Late Cretaceous, and is known from portions of the skull.
