Art. 13 only affects companies which directly profit from copyrighted material ! AO3 is nonprofit and your fanfics are available to the public ! The fanart you posted on Twitter doesn’t matter because you are the one who made it and YOU own it !

You can 100% make money through Ko-fi and Patreon under art. 13 ! Having a Ko-fi or Patreon link on your profile/post doesn’t change anything because you are not a company !

On June 20th, the Legal Committee of the EU Parliament votes on the proposed Copyright Directive. The only ones who can stop this fatal law now are the Members of the European Parliament(MEP)! What does that mean though? Upload filters on sites like Youtube, Facebook etc. have one thing in common: They will never work as accurate as a real human. As a consequence, copyrighted content that is used under fair use laws, gets deleted. This “tendancy” could be abused to filter content that’s not in line with the companies values and interests. In the future, press publishers will be required to bill for any links someone makes to their content. Wikipedia and news portals are thus nullified. No to the link tax! Help to let the Internet not go to waste!
