Happy international Asexual day 🙌🏽
A message from Yasmin Benoit and The Humans Right Campaign on IG
Happy Ace weekend folks. We exist, and today we are a threat.
💜You can get those cards here!!!💜
my friend forgot the word for asexual and so he was giving me advice and said:
"tell this person you're not interested in them because you're....uh.....*smacks lips* .......*hand gestures*....ehhh....you...do....mitosis?"
and then looked very proud of himself
Be Ace. Do Mitosis.
A thing I wrote today:
Remember, it's okay to not be interested in every hobby, even popular ones! Some hobbies just aren't meant for your path and place in the world, but some people will still claim that your life is empty just because you don't do their hobbies, like fishing, and yoga, and making video games, and having sex.
you're allowed to identify as asexual because of trauma. you're allowed to identify as asexual because of neurodivergence. it doesn't mean that you "aren't really asexual" or that it's something that needs to be fixed because your lack of sexual attraction was caused by something else. your asexuality doesn't have to be completely disconnected from every other aspect of you to be valid. i'm happy to be sharing this label with you. platonic kiss on the forehead.
Random late night thought: Every time I read "But asexuals CAN and DO have sex", I shrink a little bit. I understand it's a spectrum. But as someone who doesn't have sex and hasn't for fifteen years, it brings me back to the shame of feeling like a freak. I'm new to the community but I'm wondering if there's a better way to discuss the spectrum without making sex the "norm"?
ok so "friends don't look at friends that way" is some bullshit. I love my friends sm I want to have friends that I look at work the most intense love possible. Love doesn't have to be romantic to count. All love is valid. Love for your friends for your family for partners for siblings for motherfucking anyone. Your love is valid and I love you <33
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL ASEXUALITY DAY (LATE AF BECAUSE NO ONE TOLD ME BUT ANYWAY LETS FUCKING GOOO) 🖤🩶🤍💜
