I know I already mentioned how good of a job Elementary does when bringing in cast (guest or recurring!), and what better example than Rhys!
While rewatching Season 2 on DVD, what I noticed when Rhys plays Mycroft is he spares no expense (watch all his background scenes...you’ll see! I even got a laugh out of a number of them).
So it’s no mystery why he was also to be able to shine brightly in Notting Hill and be able to play off nicely with Hugh Grant during their scenes together.
I wish I can link to official videos (CBS doesn’t have any of Mycroft! and the official Elementary YouTube channel has only two videos...though I did find something close to Season 1 that has less than 500 views!).
P.S. Here’s Rhys reading and answering questions in Welsh. :)

Note: If I had a chance to stick a sticky note, that had ‘awesome’ written on it, on something or someone (There’s an ad that had people walking around with sticky notes one them that said ‘like’ —- was it from Canon?).
I do know that because this would be a long list (10,000 WHAT!?), there is a chance that I may double up (or triple? I hope not!)…so I give you my blessing to give me a ‘stern talking to’ if you do spot duplicates.
#164 - Michelle Krusiec And Tom Hardy Headline A Dark Comedy
When Sony released an HD trailer of 'Saving Face' last May, the comments were flooded with 'Venom 2' trailer demands.
As someone who appreciated both 2018's Venom and Alice Wu's masterpiece, I couldn't help but think that it would be awesome to actually have the protagonists of both films....in a new one. Since 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' would be one of the examples I'd give of a dark comedy...I'd be keen if Martin McDonagh were in the process of working on a screenplay that allows for these two performers to show the world the breadth of their range.
I know Tom would have had more chances to do that as Eddie Brock, Ivan Locke, and Eames. I'm just thankful that Michelle has at least one film that showcases her depth as a performer when she played Wilhelmina Pang. With a lot of working relationships with actors, it starts with a friendship...so...bar a miracle happening that a script is currently being cast with both of them as the perfect protagonist and antagonist
Could they be playing a married couple? I think to me it doesn't matter. Co-workers? Siblings? Best friends? The middle-aged version of 'Booksmart'?
If you're currently staring at an empty screen, with a cursor blinking within the window of the screenwriting software of your choice...here is one rabbit-hole you can get into: How about writing for these two? I know you might end up with something totally different, or they might not end up cast in the project...
...but at least there was an attempt right? Especially if, like me, you're quite interested in seeing how fresh pairings influence culture. Based on Michelle's point of view...my guess? Plenty.
PS: I'm currently locating the version I have on Instagram (Hopefully I've left a DM to Sony...so I could easily find the post again!).

Note 2: At times I get asked about all sorts of connection about the project — I’m going to say that the biggest connection would have been me listening to Neil Pasricha’s TED talk. Since I was doing the 10,000 Notes (the goal is now 50,000) of Encouragement at that time — I thought I’d mirror that same number
PS: Somehow #58 & #93 doesn’t show up even with the tag. :(
I recently found out that Mashable has a list of products that it considers as worthy of our attention. I definitely agree with this rechargeable deodoriser that works on ionic charges (seemingly sounding like those electric toothbrushes that changes the charges of teeth!)
(Initially it does sound like one of those spammy TV ads that don't really deliver...so...would this one also be a dud?)
PS: What perplexes me is there are some devices that do both a room...and water? I mean...
Do you immerse it in water!?

Even if the discussion isn't that compelling (particularly if the chemistry isn't there), I don't find myself pressing 'delete' on the DVR entry but instead going to the last few minutes to find out if there are interesting stories.
There is actually an episode that outlines strategies to lift up the stories we would like to tell:
At which point in your life did it happen? (Childhood? While you were working at Wall Street? As a Teacher? Would mentioning the decade or year be more relevant?)
Set The scene (Where you going somewhere? What could have contributed to the malarkey we're going to hear about in the story?)
Tell the story! (Focus on where the main action is --- if there are multiple punchlines just go for the moment with the highest density then sprinkle them during 'pander time')
Go for the punchline (Best effect if you erupt in giggles or laughter only after your listeners. I know this is quite difficult...because...even stand-up comics struggle with this sometimes. But if you slip...that's okay. Keep going! If there are multiple moments that you think your listeners would giggle at...pace yourself. Either build up from weakest to strongest or build it up for a middle crescendo then follow-up with additional punchlines after your listeners have recovered. If your punchline has really sold...this is your chance to pander while your listeners recover.)
Pander only when asked (because only your audience can let you know what they're interested about)
I think it also applies when 'sofa guests' attempt to share a snippet from their own life. Of course...I'm going to go with one of Greg Davies' stories:
(I actually thought there would be captions by now! I guess I can submit and see if mine would be accepted!)
Graham: The washing...You were very hung-over...
[Recognition in Greg's eyes]
Greg: Oh! Yeah...
[Greg's face falls because he knows how embarrassing this is going to be for him]
Graham: Tell Jodi Foster THAT story!
Greg: When I was teaching...this is what the show was based on...I went home one weekend. I was in my 30's...
[Greg considers the exact number]
Greg: I was probably 33 years of age. I went home to see my mother. Then I went back. While I was at home, my mother did my washing. Because I was only 33.
[Jodi smiles as the audience laughs]
Greg: I went back...on the Sunday night...I got really drunk...and then I went for a curry. Then the next day I went to school.
[Greg suppresses a laugh]
Greg: I went to school...and it was a school in Slough...and it was quite a rough school...and they had a really brilliant hearing-impared department. So they were hearing impared kids who you know struggled. They were really looked after in the school. Anyway...
[Graham listens intently and nods.]
Greg: ...I was really hung over...and that break I felt really uncomfortable. I thought: Something's not right. You know?
[Jodi looks like she has an inkling of what's coming next and smiles wider.]
Greg: So I went to the toilet and I pulled my trousers down and some of my mother's knickers...
[Graham tries to stop laughing...but the audience doesn't hold back...]
Greg: ...got mixed up in the washing. And I was wearing my mother's underwear.
[Jodie laughs freely.]
Greg: And I'm like: "Oh, God! No!". I remember going: "Oh you loser!"
[Ryan bows his head, cracking up. Shaking with suppressed laughter.]
Greg: This is such a low point: "You ------- loser." And then...
[Jodie is loving the story. Still laughing.]
Greg: ...the curry and the booze kicked in...
[Ryan still hasn't recovered...he's trying to...but...the laughter has taken over...]
Greg: ...from the night before...
[Ryan stars massaging his temples and manages to sit up straight]
Greg: I did a fecal Jackson Pollock.
[Ryan loses it again. Throwing his head back and leaning against the sofa.]
Greg: I was saying: "Oh, God, Not This!"
[Nope...still losing. Now Ryan has his hand up..covering his mouth...]
Greg: "Oh, Jesus!" So I clean myself up and I pulled my mothers pants back up...
[And Ryan thought he was safe. Once again he's laughing. Now getting redder and redder...]
Greg: ...and I went back to the um...classroom...
[Ryan is back. tears wiped off. Still guarded]
Greg: ...and I saw onr of the hearing impared kids...
[Ryan starts giggling]
Greg: Starts looking at me like this.
[Greg demonstrates the look: just wide eyed shock.]
Greg: That's when I remembered that I had a microphone directly...
[Jodie claps while Russel and Ryan double over...laughing...]

I thought it was quite interesting that before New South Wales was established as a penal colony, there were visits by the French in the name of science to South Australia.
Every now and then...something will catch my eye as I look through the TV Guide. Though I’m really not the sort who’d sit through a lot of historical viewing (which probably is connected to me not having a lot of period films in my viewing roster)...I decided to sit through a bit of what was on offer...
Yes...since I have a deep love for the ‘Before Trilogy’. It’s not surprising that I’d instantly think of Julie Delpy as an avatar for all things French. I’m probably influenced as Celine being represented as what France also stands for (It also didn’t help that Michael Moore's ‘Sicko’ paints the French as revolutionaries). So, I was quite deflated when I saw the episode of ‘Foreign Correspondent’ where France has struggled with giving women their personal space.
(I know that it’s just something that to keep an eye on...and hope that things take a turn for the better...)
PS: I thought it was interesting that these French voyages to the pacific were happening during the time Marie Curie was in the process of discovering two new elements.
PPS: And yes...thanks to me watching a bit of ‘Radioactive‘...I was reminded of the time period.

I know you won’t be surprised that my curiosity radar would hone in on a film that has made an impression on me (its like an onion! so many layers!)
There are people who are really weary of cats, and somehow Alice’s fascination is sort of like a cross of The Matrix and all the hyperbole that has made me laugh... :)
Presenting...
Could the lawyer have been a cat!? (I mean...it was that video right? the one of a cat filter?)
The Pandemic is revenge from the ‘secret cat rebellion’
Gus Portokalos will be nodding knowingly (”Now....give me any word that cats did not help improve...?”)
Hope your belly had a good workout from the laughs too! :D

I have finished rewatching all four seasons of ‘Felicity’ (Thank you Disney+ --- but I would have wanted the soundtrack from the original broadcast!)! While putting together a piece about the comedy of the show (TBA for link ---- it should show up on ‘Comedy To Watch’ when its published) and thought it’ll be great (amusing for me?) to collect all the interesting things Javier had said:
‘The Art of War’ by Sun Sun
Crunch
BS = Boy Shenanigans

It’s no secret that I think Masterchef is one of the family friendly shows that I’d hope parents would introduce their kids to. Though I haven’t watched all the seasons....Hayden Quinn is one of the people I recognise and found myself watching an episode of his show which featured laksa.
Though I’ve eaten a fair bit of them....I wouldn’t necessarily pick the dish if I had a choice. My recent theory is that previous ones I’ve had were too spicy. So if you are planning to add that specific dish in your menu (or specifically have spicy dishes) remember other humans who have a sensitivity to spicy things. My view might be different if all the spice had been put in a little dish for me to add as I consumed what was in the bowl.
PS: Probably the biggest reason I haven’t attempted the dish after seeing Hayden’s segment is how complicated it is (I need a mortar and pestle!?)! I’m more of a ‘no fuss’ cook and prefer stewing things for 4 hours compared to using all sorts of tools (like needing to wash the food processor each time!)...
