𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 | Whilst I was in Amsterdam I went to @termarschco and had an AMAZING time. Run by New Yorker Kevin, who is an absolute bro, this restaurant focuses on burgers and steak. It’s not often you see a restaurant dry ageing it’s own meat on the restaurant floor, but these guys are going the extra mile to show you the quality. So these guys are regular award winners for their burgers, so I expected big things, and I was very impressed. A previous ‘Best Burger In Amsterdam’ winner is the Ter Marsch Grande. 200g Scottish Angus patty, Spanish onions, cheese, pancetta, and truffle mayo. It’s a good, meaty, strong tasting burger. The saltiness of the pancetta alongside the truffle mayo, that’s your full on flavour there. I like the bun, too. Seeded always gets extra points from me. We go from a previously winning burger to the current awarded best burger in the Netherlands. The Gojira. A dry aged rib eye and Wagyu blend in a Bao bun, sweet and sour cucumber, mini bok-choy, bulgogi pulled pork, roasted pork belly, yuzu-manuka honey, gochujang sauce, nori casave chips. This is INSANE. Plus there’s 2 of them in slider form. This burger would battle a lot of the London burgers, and I wish I was close enough to have it regularly. It sounds like a lot of ingredients but everything just worked so perfectly, and the beef still comes through. I can see why it’s the current best burger in the Netherlands. I also have to give a massive shout out to Sweet Fries Of Mine. Sweet potato fries with black winter truffle mayo, Parmesan cheese, and cheese-nut crumble, dried sausage, and fried parsley. Honestly, some of the nicest fries I’ve EVER had. Also, the vegan snickers brownie, made fresh in house, it’s VERY good, and if they didn’t tell me it was vegan I wouldn’t have known. When I go back to Dam I’m 100% coming back here. Mizi could tell when someone was feeling this way, as he’d been through the same thing before. He believed if they were all in the same boat, that they needed to help each other. A little patience and kindness could go a long way for some people.
It'd been hard for Mizi to initially come out of his shell and approach people this way, but at this point he was glad he’d started to do it.
