“it’s not that deep” in reference to media analysis pisses me off so much

every single one of my literature classes was spent learning how to use a shovel and so i’m going to fucking dig. gold doesn’t just grow in the grass, you have to actually work for it. if you are content on the grass then that’s fine but don’t act like i’m the delusional one for actually putting in the work. maybe i am delusional. maybe this truly is just dirt, but at least i’m putting in the work and i’m happy while I do it. stop treating laziness like superiority. thank you for listening to my ted talk

I just got my period, cramps included, even though I’m not due for another 10 days. I’m blaming Covid.

I don’t have the time and energy to deal with this today. 😭😭😭

It’s either pain meds and no alcohol (on FriendsMas????) or grinding my teeth through the pain, having a drink or five, and hoping that I’ll at least be quick enough with prep to have a quick lie down before the friends arrive.

Christ on a bike, I like neither of these options.

I started watching a new show, and I figured it would be a little gory, BUT I DIDNT REALIZE THIS WOULD BE THE EXTENT.

I love Edgar Allan Poe so I hear about a horror/movie mystery show that’s literally called The Fall Of The House Of Usher, and immediately decide I wanna watch it.

I’m good with gore. I can handle guts and blood and shit like that, but EYEBALLS AND ANIMALS ARE WHERE I DRAW THE LINE.

Watching this guy clean up a cat that got stabbed (you don’t watch it get stabbed) made me wanna throw up. Now the cat (which is a replacement of the cat that was stabbed) is possessed or something and the dude POPPED THE CATS EYES OUT AND THEN THERE’S A LADY WHO IS ALSO THE CAT (idk how to explain it) AND SHE TURNS AROUND AND HER EYE IS OUT OF HER SOCKET.

I almost threw up.

Also there’s some shit with chimpanzees and medical malpractice, but it’s not gory, it’s just unsettling, and like I said, I don’t fuck with animal violence.

Definitely recommend the show if you can handle that stuff though, I think it’s pretty good.

*channels my best kurtis* Hey man i can't tell if this is satire or not but no you fucking don't!! i just had to scrub my skin off for like 30 minutes because i touched too many bad sock textures and they remained on my hands and i couldn't get rid of the feeling. it hurts and it's awful and you dont want this. IT RUINS SO MANY FUN THINGS.
