TL;DR Version: McCarter’s BBQ makes the best ribs you’ll ever have. If you visit Fort Myers and you don’t stop here to pick up a slab of spicy ribs, you’ve wasted the trip. Full Review: People who know me personally have already heard all of this, but it’s worth repeating. There is a rib shack just east of downtown Fort Myers, Florida that serves the best ribs you will ever taste. Locals call it “Willie’s” even though its proper name is McCarter’s BBQ. But the food is so good that they don’t advertise. There isn’t even a sign on the building, which appears to consist entirely of stucco, screen enclosure, and a smoker. If you don’t know what you’re looking for you would never even know it existed, but luckily a friend of mine introduced me to it a few years back. Ever since, I’ve been picking up a full slab of ribs there every time I go home. A full slab of ribs will run you $25 and they come in regular or spicy. The regular sauce is good, but the spicy sauce is the show. It’s the regular sauce with slices of jalapeño and seeds marinating in it for an insane amount of flavor which will make you cry. I’m not exaggerating when I say it will clear your sinuses. Not to be outdone, the ribs themselves are extremely meaty and tender. Four bones from the thick side of the slab is a meal in itself. Which is a good thing because there are no drinks and “sides” are nonexistent other than slices of white bread. I really can’t oversell these ribs because I’ve never met anyone who didn’t agree that they’re amazing. So if you should find yourself in Fort Myers, Florida, do yourself a favor and stop at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Blvd and Cranford Street for the best ribs you’ll ever taste. And if you happen to live in Ft Myers, consider McCarter’s BBQ for your next party because they cater as well. Tell Willie that the guy from Tallahassee sent you. #InstaReviews #FastFoodie #McCartersBBQ #BestBBQRibs #FtMyersFoodie #FloridaFoodies #BBQ4Days #FastFoodBBQ #InstaBBQ #InstaFastFood
