i’m curious how Beyond and Light would interact. Would he find Light interesting, maybe even fixate on him? or would someone more capable of beating L than he is infuriate him and try to take him down? Light would definitely hate and feel unsettled by Beyond, he’d every intention of killing him with the notebook, but because Beyond has the eyes, he’d already figure out Light is Kira, or at the very least has a death note.

It makes a small little part of Mello feel more at ease to hear it (he snuffs out that part quickly). “You’ve never been one for following the rules. You are also a criminal, after all.”

And thirdly for not giving into Near's admittedly shitty, yet somehow alluring attempts at getting into Mello's pants. or Mello might be slightly delusional and too horny for his own good. Light may have paved the way, experienced the original vision of a New World, but Misa will be the one to experience the fulfillment of that vision.
