Having a hard time explaining to people that studying 4 languages doesn't mean I now speak 5 languages, but actually something more like, -7.3 instead

I know this is a rly basic idea, but it’s honestly so wild to me that the brain works like this. Like, I will be struggling for words in my second language, confused and frustrated, and then I listen to someone speak in that language for 10 mins and it’s as though it unlocks a vault in my mind and I’m back to being fluent. Like huH???

Do you ever go like σξδωκσωδκσωδ but then realize people might not speak your first language so you change to ajshajdhsjwjaj so they won't mistake your keysmash for a word they don't understand

Another things about being bilingual or trilingual. If the word sounds similar in both or all 3 languages, I never know if it's real or I just made it up.

Example

Eng: Presentation

Pl: Prezentacja

Ger: Präsentation

Did I made up the word Präsentation bc it fits or is it real?

Same with "integration"
