I have an idea with pregnant reader.

What if they gave birth during a round?

Like their water just brakes and the others are confused until they say the baby is coming.😭

=WARNING: NON-DESCRIPTIVE BIRTH MENTION= Oh man, talk about CHAOS. You know that scene from Ice Age 3 where Ellie and Manny have that code word for when she will be going into labor (aka peaches)? I imagine a scenario like that unfolding. While the human is trying their absolute best during a round, despite the numerous protests from their Survivor companions, they suddenly feel a sharp pain that causes them to cry out. Their bodyguards become alert and ask what's wrong, to which the human says their chosen code word. Then PANIC. "What?! NOW!?? YOU'RE HAVING IT NOW!?" "See, THIS is why you should have stayed at the cabin! It's not safe!!" "WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO!?" "There is no time to waste, we need to make haste!" "Oh joyous day! The birth of a god is one worth witnessing!" "We need to make a safe place for them, hurry!" "Shed! I need you to help me guard the entrances!" "On it! What about--" "BARRICADE IT UP IF YOU HAVE TO, DAGNABBIT!" "Elliot! Help Builder!" "WHERE CAN I FIND BLANKETS HERE!?" "I don't know..?!" "WELL HELP ME LOOK!" "It's too cold in here! Light a fire!" "A-Alright!" The Survivors are all sent into a frenzy during the round and the Killer is probably struck with total confusion. I mean, they aren't really doing anything at the moment...so why are all the Survivors scattering and not focusing on ANY of their tasks? Instead they are grabbing up a lot of resources and just pooling them in one singular location. Curiosity would just entice the killer to just simply wait to see what they are doing and witness what is causing such a ruckus...in fact...where is their larger friend? The human is just in agony while the Survivors do whatever they can to make this small citadel as comfortable as possible for you to deliver. From lighting fires for warmth, bringing you anything soft, and giving Builderman water, cloths, food, and anything else they can do.

Meanwhile, the Sentinels are on FULL alert. They guard the entrances with purpose while Builderman constructs a sentry to help with protecting you. He also has a dispenser placed near your resting spot to take some of the edge off while you go through your labor. The minutes feel like long and grueling HOURS while you crush the absolute life out of whoever has loaned you their hand and your brow is caked with sweat. Builderman would probably be the one to help deliver the child, as a few of the Survivors have already fainted from the sheer sight of the birthing process. Two Time is also very helpful, as the sight doesn't seem to bother them at all. With a few more painful pushes, and agonizing screams, the little one is brought into the world. Then suddenly, the round would end. Even if there was time remaining, the round would just straight up end and you find yourselves all back at the cabin. You are a complete mess and you're exhausted from giving birth during a live round...the stress was enough to cause you to fall into a deep sleep. Meanwhile, Builderman is holding the swaddled bundle and trying to process that they all just DELIVERED A BABY during a live round with a Killer lurking about...it was so exhausting to put up with. The baby swaps hands for a while as you recover from the birth, each one taking in the sight of the newborn, and once you awaken--they willingly hand you your baby. You simply stay in the "AFK zone" for the next few days to recover from such a harrowing process...but it was all worth it to deliver your precious little one. Still, a couple of survivors can't help but make a passing comment or two...especially "those diagrams did NOT prepare us for that at ALL". You can't help but laugh.

the air in the hospital room being so thick with the aftermath of just… the second worst day in the history of hunters, probably. they nearly lost mira. Zoey is sitting next to the bed, holding the too- tiny little bundle, rumi is in the bed holding a (finally asleep) mira.

mira had been a mess. clinging to bean, her child, who was supposed to be safe and healthy but mira couldn’t protect herself and therefore bean well enough. combined with the pain meds she’s on and how hurt she is, it’s almost too much. she’s in and out of this terrified incoherent kind of crying that makes zoey and rumi’s hearts clench.

Zoey eventually- so, so gently - takes bean, promising she’ll be careful, and they try to coax mira to rest. not to be gay but rumi sings to her, and zoey joins in, and watching the honmoon curl around her lover, her child, and her best friend calms her. the honmoon so clearly loves their daughter already. mira knows it’ll keep her safe.

Very, very fresh bison calf.

Months and months ago I promised y'all photos of the bison birth I was lucky enough to observe at the Cleveland Zoo last spring. As requested, they'll be under a cut, because unlike this lovely photo from the zoo announcement post, my photos are... goopy.

His name is Tighee, a name which the zoo said is "the name of a Shoshone chief."

We walked up just as things started to get going, and the story is below the cut...

This is Blue, a female bison who arrived at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo in fall of 2022 already pregnant. When we got to the habitat, there were a ton of people gathered around, and it wasn't quite clear what was going on.

Then we noticed her full udder and the extra pair of feet.

She was dead-center in the (pretty large) habitat, which was nice - though there was a crowd, she had some good distance from everyone for most of it. The calf came pretty quickly, all things considered (something especially helpful when you're holding a heavy camera up on full manual zoom without a tripod). Because she was at a distance, my friend and I spent a bunch of time showing people near us photos on my camera screen so they could get a good view.

I was honestly really surprised at the number of people who asked why the zoo staff weren't in there with her, helping her give birth. So we explained to folk that zoo staff don't normally go in with bison on a normal day because they're so big and dangerous, and that during a birth (a time of potential stress for the whole herd, the rest of whom were off to the side of that habitat) it would be especially risky to do so. But you could see people in the zoo's uniform colors clustered around the fence, keeping a close eye on her.

And then there was a calf! For folk who haven't seen what a whole amniotic sac looks like, I'm including the next couple photos.

This one is still mid-birth, as you can see. The hooves come out first, with the calf's head laying parallel to them.

Blue immediately moves to break the amniotic sac and clear the calf's airways of mucus. Om nom nom.

We have open eyes and an awake baby! The amniotic sac is full of fluid that helps protect the baby while it's in the uterus, which means once it's broken, the baby is goopy. One of mom's first jobs is to lick all of it away to dry the calf off.

A first attempt at using legs!

Nope, being born was too hard and legs don't work yet. Time to rest and recover from the effort of thinking about standing up.

The first inquisitive member of the herd, another young female, comes to check out the newest addition.

More attempts at legs! Getting better but still not coordinated enough yet.

They're starting to help the baby stand up. In a non-captive setting it would be important for him to be able to walk pretty quickly after being born, and he has to stand up to be able to nurse!

Everyone comes to check him out, now.

We have legs! They work! He hadn't quite figured out where to nurse from yet, though.

But on the other hand i am a sucker for mom mira and i think it would be funny for her tall and skinny ass to have the chunkiest baby alive just for the prospect of them being like; "girl what the hell how did you make that"

it's been a minute since i sent you anything... i better fix that

time for more hybrid project debauchery, that one ask describing a live broadcast of a sparkling's birth has been haunting me since i first read it. nasty, degrading, hot as fuck. we can debate all day about whether or not the autobot council is corrupt enough to go through with it, but i know who's going to have zero qualms about putting his sex-pet on display at their most vulnerable moments. it's megatron. we all know it's megatron.

i haven't talked much about the decepticon breeding program yet, i think it's a point of pride that they try to capture their own mates if they can (leading to various cons arriving on earth specifically for that) but the actual facility where the humans are meant to be kept is somewhere out in space, maybe a hollowed-out asteroid or a derelict space station that's been retrofitted. shockwave embezzled so much from the autobots to get this all set up. it's a prison, there's no possible escape for the humans without help, and that's the point. you have nowhere to go, nobody can reach you, so just give up and enjoy your new life...

anyway. so megatron's a huge pervert and the more he thinks about watching the first decepticon sparkling emerge, the more he wants to witness it, and clearly it would inspire and motivate his followers. he doesn't care if it's humiliating for the carrier, or if his high command is kind of icked out, make it so. many decepticons watch that broadcast and awaken a birth kink watching that poor little human strain and cry while megatron's huge servo strokes their heaving belly.

(the autobot intelligence division is tapped into the decepticon communication lines, you can imagine a bunch of elite guard bots crowded around the monitor in horrified fascination as they watch too)

Love the worldbuilding for the AU - and I'm dying at Megatron claiming this is the first ever Decepticon sparkling (nah bitch it's clearly Shockwave's). Kind of split on who Megatron’s poor harem member should be.

Maybe Shockwave's mate after Megatron abducted them (and rizzed them up)? They would have to deal with the whiplash and humiliation of having their second birth publicized live, while remembering how comfortably private and hush hush it was back with the Autobots

(Imagining Shockwave watching the screen and crashing out HARD - because he misses his wife so badly, and seeing them give birth to Megatron's sparkling crushes him emotionally... Anyway, does he still have to maintain the Longarm disguise while doing this? Because imagine if he was unwillingly on the team who intercepted the signal, and he starts shaking - but everyone interprets it as "oh man, Megatron stole his mate and got them pregnant- that must weigh soooo much on him" while Shockwave had to willingly give up his mate)

Or maybe it's just some poor human who was kidnapped and had the rotten luck of getting pregnant first. RIP

Either way, please please tell me they're getting at least some form of pain relief. Considering the medical risks of giving birth, Megatron needs to have a team on site (they're witnessing the most fucked up affection known to the Allspark). Big fan of Megatron caressing their belly as they give birth - oh the contrast between surface level affection and veiled abuse

Getting pregnant/giving birth as a nonsocial wild animal who doesn't understand what's happening has to be terrifying as all hell. You mingle with your own species for a bit solely because going without is painfully uncomfortable, and then after you revert to normal, you find yourself getting sicker and sicker and weaker and weaker over time until suddenly you're in a lot of pain and you're bleeding and vulnerable and convinced you're being burst open from the inside out and when it finally stops theres a wholeass other guy that just came out of you- or multiple other guys, depending on species. Genuinely horrifying nightmare shit
