Sorry friend, I was waiting to see if Team Theorist was going to make a formal announcement. Some folks on Twitter found this on Jason's LinkedIn page:
The fact that he posted this but Team Theorist hasn't said anything means either he wants to leave quietly without much fuss (a la Mirror Matt) or they're waiting to tell everyone later. I kinda think Jason will join MatPat on the couch one last time and it'll serve as a goodbye for both of them. That might be why MatPat moved his leaving date from summer to October. Pure speculation on my part.
Personally, I'm bummed, but I understand. I think it's really sweet that Jason waited until MatPat retired. I think he deserves to either go out and do something bigger and better...or just take a break. He works just as hard as MatPat and Steph and I highly doubt he's leaving because of bad blood. I bet they'll work together on another project someday, they're all workaholics.
BTW if you didn't catch the last GTLive, they announced MatPat's final livestream. It'll be on October 26th, streaming at 1pm EST/10am PST. 😭
