I post/reblog what interests me. That includes darker fictional themes.
I am pro-fiction / anti-harassment. I do not believe fictional media consumption is a moral litmus test. Fiction is not reality, and engaging with fictional topics, even disturbing or taboo ones, does not automatically reflect someone’s real-world morals, intentions, or desires.
As long as no actual people are being harmed, exploited, endangered, or targeted, I genuinely do not care what fictional content someone consumes in private. Horror exists. Psychological thrillers exist. Violent media exists. Obsessive romance exists. Humanity has explored uncomfortable themes through storytelling for literally centuries. Ever heard of “120 Days of Sodom”?
People are capable of understanding the difference between fiction and reality. If someone can watch slasher films without becoming a murderer, they can also read dark fiction without suddenly losing all moral comprehension. Consuming fictional content is not the same thing as endorsing actions in real life.
I care far more about how people treat real human beings than whether they ship fictional characters someone else dislikes.
Harassment over fictional media is exhausting, chronically online behavior, and I want no part in it.
Curate your space. Block freely. Move on.
