I know we usually headcanon Holtz as neurodivergent, which is my absolute fave thing, but I feel like there is a very high chance Erin has BPD, especially giving her history of extreme bullying and abuse.
so here are some of the things I have gathered:
values other people’s opinions of her and self image a lot. in the deleted scene she was very stressed about people looking at her and abby, who was in her ghostbuster costume, bc she was too worried about what people would think and talk about her later while abby didn’t care at all.
seeks acceptance and validation from others. she tries to get validation from dr. heiss. she went as far as setting the ghost free and putting their work in danger just to prove him a point while others didn’t care about what he had to say at all.
has a hard time managing her anger. she got really heated up while discussing the cat analogy with abby. and she reacted very intensively when the reporter called her ghost girl, later punching him in the face.
she isolates herself when things go wrong and she is upset. she pushed abby, her only friend, away all those years ago. when the news came out about her punching the reporter, she doesn’t let the team help her, she leaves and goes home to be alone.
experiences extreme mood swings. after abby and holtz get fired, she goes from being sad/thoughtful to very cheerful and hopeful in minutes, telling them that they can do it. and again, when the news about them being frauds come out, she first looks really angry and sad like the others, but a few seconds later she is the one giving the team a speech and encouraging them on to keep going.
shows impulsive behavior. she jumps to the vortex to save abby without even thinking about potential danger and how there is a high chance that none of them will make it back alive.
I also believe that abby was her FP and she left bc she was fearing abandonment.
this is very dear to my heart, so please do not attack me with negative comments. also you can add more if you want!
