i wann be taken to a dragon care facility becuz they kno im slowly turnin into a smol dragon even tho i didnt kno

like they show up at my door & are like "we're with the dragon care system? apparently someone here is a dragon and needs to be relocated" and im like What The

and they take me to a facility in the countryside & introduce me to my roommate who already has horns & wing buds growing & has a hunched spine & im like are the staff nice here?? and shes like "staff giv meat & gravy for dindin. staff good. staff put mira outside for bafrooms walkywalkies. staff nice" and im like Fuck Im Gonn Lose My Intelligence???????

and slowly i lose my modesty and am snuggling with random dragon ppl for warmth under the heatlamps. and the staff is like "patty, we found a witch who wants to come meet u for adoption consideration" and my dragon brain is like "..........patty.......witch..........adoption........" and im like Yeah Me Okay Me Good and the staff is like "ok!"

and the witch is a tall chubby witch with magic powers & shes like "ooaawwhhh shes so adorable, what did u say her name is?" and im just kind of chillin on her feet and she scritches my head & i go "..rrrrrrrrr" like i purrr and shes like "yeah u like that girl dont u...... ill take her" and my eyes briefly open & im like Paa.....tty.....Wit....chy...?? and the staff is like "yes patty ur getting adopted!" and i snort some smoke out my nose & go back to sleep

Go to sleep so you can go back tomorrow

To an empty bed

And many full.

The context for this is that I'm a caregiver in a care home that houses mainly the elderly (as well as disabled people), and there have been 10 deaths since I've worked here. (7 months) You have to learn to work through it as it's happening and afterward in order to still be able to care for the other people you're responsible for.

It's difficult when a person you dedicate your life and time to caring for and getting to know dies suddenly and you don't have the time to grieve, the world just moves on and the bed if filled with a new person within the week as if they were never there. As my nurse friend (Fifi) said

"It’s cruel how oftentimes the only mark a person has ever been in a facility is in the memories of the ones who carry that hurt. White sheets when they arrive. White sheets when they leave. And we are left with the grief"

Five thoughts I had while watching

“I Care a Lot” from Netflix

(Pretty much spoiler free. Nothing that’s not already in the discription/trailer)

First off the movie was meh, but it had its moments

Jennifer (the mom) was my favorite. No seriously, I strive to be that cool when I’m old

Do not watch this if you just want to relax. I was angry 90% of this whole movie

I hated the main character. Hated her. You know you have a problem when you’re rooting for the mafia dude

Me: sitting at a unresponsive patient's bedside awkwardly rambling about turmeric, cows, smashmouth, and alligators, while making strangely charged eye contact with the crochet Octopi on her bookshelf.

In case anyone's wanted to know, my day went as such:

I cried, and my coworker wiped my tears (literally)

I spent approximately an hour total wiping up diarrhea

I had to fill out a lot of paperwork because some guy decided to roll over one too many times and ended SOMEHOW on the floor at the END of his bed???

Second shift grates on my nerves and don't know how to give a decent report.

I took a LOT of vitals

I helped my coworker in a room that's definitely haunted, because she was scared to go alone.

And I knocked over a urinal and got pee on my leg.

I had to text me boss (ughh)

And I went out for breakfast, T'was tasty.

"No, Bob, i can not give you a jar of pickles. You'll eat the entire thing and make yourself sick."

"Ruby! Get your hand out of your depend, hon, that's gross."

"No, im not getting in bed with you, Gary."

"Come on, let's get back to your room. You can't be walking around without pants on Wally."

"Okay- Ernest, I don't need to hear about how you would kill a cat."

"You don't need to go to the bathroom, you're sure? Okay." *proceeded to poop into my hand* "Okay..."

"I do not need to hear about your wife's breasts, Ernest."

"Are you SURE you want the banana you just dropped on the floor?"

"No, Ruby, you have to swallow it. Don't pick it out of your mouth and drop it on the floor, please."

"Oh Jesus, who's poop is this?"

"..how-?? Greg, how did you end up there??"

"Why are you laying naked in the hallway??"
