tags: lying (both you & adrien/chat; to your friends) + mentions of people thinking you're a liar, silly & wholesome fluff, secret identies, chat trying to help you out by playing your boyfriend
all of your friends were either in a relationship or in love with someone
and since you didn't want to feel left out, you were lying about having a boyfriend yourself
the only problem is that you told them the first name that came to your mind when they asked who exactly that secret boyfriend of yours was
"chat noir" was probably not the answer you should've given, but after those words left your mouth, it was already too late
some of your friends were quiet. others thought you were joking and started laughing
but not adrien agreste. he of all people decided to help you out with your obvious lie
"actually, y/n is saying the truth–! i saw them together the other day… right?"
the people who were laughing quickly went quiet. suddenly, everyone seemed to take you at least a little more serious
i mean, why would adrien lie for you? he's the most honest person they know!
you thought things would end there. everyone would think you were a liar but not bring the topic up anymore
but then, a few days later, chat noir showed up while you were hanging out with your friends
he wrapped an arm around your waist, kissed your cheek and politely asked you to finally introduce him to his lovers best friends
you had no idea how he could possibly have found out about your little lie or why he was playing along with it
but you tried to act cool and for that one day, you were pretending to date the hero of paris
by the end of the day chat noir takes you home and the two of you are finally alone for the first time
you ask him how he found out about your lie and why he even bothered to show up and play along
he refuses to tell you why and just gives you a playful wink, but he does admit that he heard rumors about his supposed lover and wanted to see them for himself
you get flustered and try to apologize for lying about it, but chat brushes it off and tells you that he doesn't mind playing your boyfriend
he lets you know that if you need him to play your boyfriend again in the future, he'll gladly help you
the entire time, you stay unaware that the one who's actually helping you out is none other than your good friend adrien
that he had actually had canceled his plans with the group that day, telling them he had a photoshooting, so he could show up as chat noir and help you out
and you're also unaware of how much adrien actually enjoyed playing your boyfriend. so much, that he hopes you'll keep that lie up a little longer~
A few anons have asked for and ngl I miss writing so:
Cat Headcanons
You had just recently moved to Nearberg for your job and so were going door to door introducing yourself to the neighbour and yet everybody so far was being less than neighbourly to you
And so as you reached the last house, a weird one half fish and half firehydrant, you sighed and grimaced putting on a fake smile as you knocked on the door yet instead of the usual slam to the face a dog started to shake your hand rapidly
"Hello! I'm-" He started grinning widely, it was a nice grin and you were glad that at least someone in this neighbourhood was nice, yet you suddenly heard another voice shout "Dog!"
Walking up to the door was a cat who looked very similar to Dog you figured they may be related, "Don't run off like that! You know I sometimes have difficulty catching up to youuu" He grumbled before looking over to you a grin starting to form on his face
"You, I've never seen you here before. Come in, come in." He grinned walking back into the house, Dog following after him, you smiled and joined suit but as you looked back down to them you found that they were attached to the hip!
"So, would you like coffee or tea or-" The cat started before trailing your gaze to find that you were staring at their hip, "Oh, you've noticed, well better get this over with." He sighed before grabbing a cup and pouring himself a coffee
"Get what over with?" You asked sincerely looking back over to him, to which he raised an eyebrow and set down his cup
"The heckling, I'm sure you must think we're some kind of freak." You frowned a little, upset but not surprised that they were expecting to be laughed at
"No, I'm not gonna laugh at you, sure it may be a little surprising but it's not anything to be laughed at for." You smiled warmly at him, to which he blushed, Dog noticed this and grinned a little
"Oh, w-well, my offer still stands." He grinned
"One hot chocolate please …" You trailed off to which Cat finally understood what you were doing and responded with his name, "Cat and Dog huh? Not very original…" You laughed as you took a sip from the cup you were just handed
"Hey, we didn't pick them." Cat responded chuckling a little himself, he then sighed as he placed his head on his hand, before drumming the table a little as you looked back to him
"So, uh…" He started looking back and forth before 'subtly' asking Dog to leave the room
"Yes?" You raised an eyebrow to which he shot his look back to you and started laughing nervously, he then sighed as he bit the bullet "Would you… maybe, like to… go on a date with me?
He immediately expected you to start laughing at him but instead you responded with, "Yeah I'd love to, how about Saturday, at that fancy restaurant place?" You asked to which he nodded repeatedly, shocked that you would even agree to it, "Great! Then it's a date."
Hey! I now have started writing for Dina, Cat, Ellie and Jessie for the first time! So if you have any requests for any of them please send them in and I will get to them as soon as I can!
The rain drenching your fur was hardly noticeable compared to your situation.
Cat’s plan failed and now you were all going to die.
Not that you blamed him, it wasn’t his fault the lightning struck the worst place possible.
Hell, you were still amazed at what you all had done with such little time.
Even if it was all in vain, Cat’s leadership and inventiveness managed to bring you all together for something great.
It was one of the things you loved about him.
Another one of the things you’ll never get to tell him.
Another one of the things plaguing your mind as you sit atop the edge of the cliff where CatDog’s house once stood.
Not that you’re only one pondering your life choices at that moment. Even the Greasers sitting at your right are lost in thought.
That is, until Cliff speaks up.
“My real name isn’t Cliff… it’s Clifford,”
I guess it’s confession time now.
As you look back and forth, everyone is coming clean about something.
Then a gnawing feeling grows in your stomach as you look at the feline sitting next to you, staring off into space.
You try to ignore the idea that enters your mind and flushes your face, but it’s almost impossible.
It only gets worse as Shriek confesses her love to Dog and smooches him dead on the lips (to which he promptly faints).
You glance once more at Cat, then to the lovestruck poodle, then at your tight grip on your fur.
You think it over once more and sigh.
Well… it’s now or never.
You just wish you could look up from your paws and into his eyes.
“Hey, Cat?”
“Yeah?”
His voice was raspy, like he could break down into tears at any moment.
You suck in a breath subconsciously and…
…
Before either of you realize it, your lips are pressed against his. In reality it barely lasts a moment, but it feels like an eternity for you two. A beautiful eternity.
Your faces barely move from each other when it’s over, the feeling leaving you both breathless.
There are no words spoken between you, not even when you finally bring yourself to open your eyes, and find his staring deep into yours and widened with… surprise? Fear? Disgust?
You don’t wait to find out, and soon you’re sitting alone behind the scrap heap that was your saving grace, waiting for it all to end.
…
But it never does.
When you look up at the night sky, it’s clear, the clouds shifting with haste to reveal the shimmering heavenly bodies above you.
Your emotions clash terribly as you fixate on the stars and strangely, not one of them is the joy that you’re still here, and alive.
It’s all too much for one person to take in.
Perhaps that’s why the last, and first man you wanted to see then sat down next to you.
The only acknowledgment he got was the sudden pink on your face, you felt even more embarrassed that you couldn’t bring yourself to say a word, or even take your eyes off the world above.
“So…”
He fidgets with the damp grass as he tries to gather his words.
But two faint words spill out from you before he can even start, so faint the feline doesn’t catch them.
“I’m sorry…”
You repeat yourself barely louder, but this time he understands.
“Why are you apologizing?”
He got you there. The tears that start to flow from your eyes wouldn’t let you speak even if you had anything to say.
That’s when you’re brought into his arms, face pressed into his shoulder, and you cry.
It’s not just feelings from tonight, years and years of longing spill out right then and there.
He doesn’t say anything, just rubs his paw up and down your back.
It feels like hours have passed when your sobs soften into silent tears once more, and his voice soothes the fire in your stomach.
“I’d say you should have told me sooner but… it’s not like i’ve been honest with you either,”
Were you hearing this right?
He grips your shoulders and pulls you back so he can look at you. His heart breaks at the sight of your eyes, red and puffy.
“I should be the one apologizing for making you wait so long,”
More tears start to fall, but a different emotion propels them this time.
A lot of things happen at once, his paw meets the back of your head, he leans in and…
Heading into the coffee shop you worked at, you sighed as you set your stuff down in the back “Thanks, Cole” you said when he handed you a cup of your favorite coffee “Of course, you’re relieving me, it’s the least I can do” Cole said, giving you a smile and patting your shoulder “It’s pretty slow right now, so no rush” he said, taking his apron off before hanging it up and grabbing his things “Cool, thanks again” you said, giving him a smile and watching him salute you before he headed out.
Taking a sip, you headed out of the back and behind the register, nearly spitting the coffee out when you saw a girl with bright red hair standing there, forcing yourself to swallow the coffee, you set the cup down before approaching the counter “Can I help you?” You asked, shocking yourself on how well you said that, having been fearing you would stutter and watching as the girl smiled at you, making the butterflies in you stomach increase “Can I just have a latte? Lots of sprinkles!” She asked with a grin on her face “Of course” you said, giving her a smile in return before going and making the most sprinkled latte you have ever made.
As you set up the cup, you asked for her name before writing You give me butterflies on the cup before pouring the latte in it and putting whipped cream and sprinkles over the top of it, handing her the cup “It’s on the house” you told her when she asked how much, practically melting at the smile she gave you before she headed off, you fearing she hadn’t read the cup until she came in the next day, claiming that you gave her butterflies as well.
